NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) on Thursday said that it was investigating the case of Goa's Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate allegedly carrying undeclared currency. The Minister was detained at Mumbai airport by customs on April 1 for carrying undeclared currency and was later let off.
"The investigations are still in progress and other investigative agencies have been addressed with details", the CBEC said, while denying the media reports that the Minister was let off by the customs after it received a call from Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's office.
The decision to let off the Goan Minister "was taken entirely as per the Customs Rules and Regulations", the release said, adding "no calls were received by the Custom Officials at Mumbai Airport from the office of any Minister". – PTI
Yes, India has special rules for Ministers. Only poor people go to prison in India. Is anyone investigating how someone would have so much spare cash after buying TVs, refrigerators, washing machines and handing out so much money to buy votes and still have so much left over to travel to bank in Dubai????? This is India's dirty 'democracy'...The PM of India should stop lying to the world that India has a 'democracy'! Who is paying for this??? Our beloved Goa is!!!! Dirty India!
ReplyDeleteCorruption has become a way of life for Indians, in this great democracy, they say "satya me jayathe" where the truth never surfaces.
ReplyDeleteDo not expect this minister to spend a minute in Jail as would any ordinary citizen. The law has its price and can be bought easily.
