BJP TRYING BIHAR EXPERIMENT TO GET VOTES

PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to replicate its 'Bihar experiment' in Goa in the forthcoming state Assembly elections. BJP Mahila Morcha's National President Smriti Irani told reporters here that the party had conducted a detailed survey before allotting the tickets in 2010 Bihar elections.
"We had given tickets to 13 women candidates, of which 11 won," she said, adding that in one case a sitting legislator was denied the ticket to make way for a woman candidate. The actor-turned politician said that same experiment would be repeated in Goa.  When asked if BJP would give more tickets to women in 2012 polls here, she said that "winnability" mattered. "It will be a party's decision," she said. – PTI
