MISSING SUSPECTS LINKED TO MOLEM MURDER

PONDA: The Ponda police suspect that the April 10 murder, where a burnt body was found in a jungle area of Borkotem, Molem, has links with that of a missing person of Bicholim, Deelip Naik. Deelip was reported missing since April 9 from his residence in Bicholim.
The family filed a missing person complaint with the Bicholim police on April 19. family members said that Deelip was in the habit of staying away from the house for weeks together, and then come home. The filing of complaint was therefore delayed.
Mr Manoj Mardolkar, the Ponda police inspector said, "We gathered that Mr Janaradhan Kokre, the owner of the vehicle was the dead person found in the vehicle in the Molem murder case. This was based on the registration details of the vehicle. We have now learnt that Mr Kokre had approached Deelip to wash his vehicle, a day before both went missing. Therefore, we suspect that there is a strong link between these two missing persons; Kokre and Deelip, and the murder case of April 10, where the burnt body was found in the vehicle belonging to Kokre."
He further said that the brother of the missing person, Mr Anant S Naik, has urged the police to investigate the case from this direction. Police are awaiting the DNA test to establish the identity of the body found in the burnt vehicle.
