I was surprised to read in your esteemed paper that Dr Hubert Gomes had withdrawn from the race for MLAs elections from Benaulim Constituency. This is the same Dr Gomes who had made several statements in the past that come what may, he would never withdraw from the race.
It appears that the he has developed cold feet, can be attributed to inducements offered by his opponents. We, people from Benaulim, feel very much let down by these people who had assured to make a change to the political scene in Goa.

ReplyDeleteWell its pretty clear that if both John and Dr ubert contest, it will be a easy victory for Valanks. In my view Dr Hubert has made a sensible decision as only John can defeat Valanks coz he has the youth and also the sympathy for being framed in political conspiracy.
We should appreciate his gesture and his courage for stepping aside for the betterment of benaulim. We cant give the alemaos another chance.......they have ran out of chances. And its high time Miss Big LIps concentrates on getting married rather than looting goa!!!

One has to understand his fear, either he has been offered some kind of finance by his opponents or threatened by political thugs. At this moment in time there is not a single person or group that can take on these criminal politicians. Mob law will be the best law to drive them out.
