MASSIVE HUNT FOR MICHAEL FERNANDES

PANJIM: An extensive manhunt has been launched, a day after Michael Fernandes, wanted in 19 cases and being investigated for accepting a contract to harm the family members of State Home Minister Ravi Naik managed to escape from police custody, a story largely fabricated by the home minister Ravi Naik to divert attention from his drug dealer son Roy Naik
Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas told a news agency that almost 100 policemen were combing the area around Panjim to nab Fernandes. The public of Goa doubt the integrity and sincerity of Arvind Gawas as he appears to be pulling wool over the eyes of the public.
Police have increased picketing on Panjim-Margao and Panjim-Ponda highway and resorted to intense checking of the vehicles, he said.
There are wide rumours and gossip in the town that some high level police officers are involved in the escape of Michael Fernandes. There is also a talk that the lower ranked policemen are suspended while the real culprits are still in service. The lower ranked policemen were only used as scapegoats said on citizen on condition of anonymity.
Fernandes (23) escaped yesterday after being referred for psychological treatment to Bambolim's Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour. This was his fifth escape from police or judicial custody over the last few years.
However, his accomplice Dipak Kesarkar, who had managed to flee along with Fernandes has been apprehended. Following the incident, four policemen including a head constable have been placed under suspension for dereliction of their duties.
A senior police officer said the escort cell had issued a memo to its staff after Fernandes recently threw an open challenge to the police to keep him behind bars.
The staff was told that he should not be taken out without handcuffs. Even yesterday he was handcuffed; however, they were removed for medical examination, when he managed to flee.
Fernandes has a history of jail breaks, the latest being on February 22, when he jumped from a moving police van and disappeared. He was recaptured on April 11 from a dense forest at Khola in Canacona near here.
Gawas said the criminal is wanted in almost 19 cases across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. Even after his February escape he had threatened and robbed a foreigner at Canacona, threatened a family at Goa Velha village and committed robbery at Bicholim and Kankavli (Maharashtra). – PTI

Keep hunting until you come across a big elephant, we have the most incompetent police force in Goa, only fit to kill innocent people that too Goans.

  2. The escape of Micheal only shows the state of the Goa Police. It only shows how effective is the police force the people have to rely on for their safety. Suspension of some lower ranked policeman is just to throw some dust in the eyes of the public to divert attention. The top brass of the police has to bear responsibility and resign if they have any moral character. Goa Police sucks!

  4. Well done Goa Police. Leave the criminal and catch him later. Waste lot of taxpayers money which in turn will give promotions to some policemen. Shameless lot who will later pose for a photo with the same criminal amd publish it on the local newspapers. Better if you could pose for a photo with motorcycle pilot Ravi Naik who is put incharge with the Home portfolio by Cowmuth Digambar.

Anand: I hope instead of the useless Police coming across a Big Elephant, they come across a Hungry Tiger.
As the Goa Police feast on our hard earned money through bribes / hafta, let the Tiger feast on their flesh.
we can call it "settling of scores"

Hi Allwyn: I heard Goa Police were professional acccording to Ravi Naik & and dynamic according to Digu Kamat.
Have they got the adjectives incorrect.
I will not buy a comic book on "Cops & Robbers. I will just sit and watch this.
Mahanand Naik acquitted on several cases and now Michael Fernandes escapig on several occassions.
I would normally condemn law breakers, but in this instance itseems like Michael a villian has turned out to be a hero.
They should have shown the ineptitude of the idle Goa Police in Dum Maro Dum!!

    Hi Ato Z:
I get the impression the Goa Police(richest in the world) are bored. So they create games like "Hide & Seek" to keep them occupied.

  8. Nobody will beleive that Michael has taken supari to kill or harm Roy Naik. Who is Roy, even the stray dogs won't piss on him as he is useless. The motorcycle pilot is only inventing the stories to gain time and play his cards. The criminals like Michael should kill some police and the corrupt politicians.

  9. Ganja Ravi Naik should take the service of pig-catchers to train Goa Police how to catch pigs or that matter Varca Dukhor Chorchill service will definitely benefit him as he is professional dukhar catcher. This is Ravi Naik talk about professional force? Ravi the matka gambler what you are talking about criminals professional or law enforcement professionals?

  10. We all in Goa hope Mr. Micheal succeeds in completing the contract (supari) which he had supposedly taken. Because we would like to give him 40 more suparis before next elections. But he has to live upto his reputation other than running away form the khaki bustards. The fat man from Salcete will fetch the highest bounty.

  11. A criminal, just 23 years old escapes again after throwing an open challenge, with all the training the police could not stop his escape. The police have grown fat eating all the free food they get & are in the worst physical shape. Useless, shameless, But they can only act in cases like Cipriano's.

  12. We have 40 Thieves, Criminals, and Goondas who are free in Goa. Why not allow Michael Fernandes enjoy a free life. He must be allowed not only to kill one person, but I will be happier if he kills all the 40 Criminals who are looting and destroying our Goa in the name of Development. He should be given Ak-47 rifle to finish all of them in one time. Then only Goa will be saved. Well done Goa Police.

You are too polite to call him a "Fat Man".
The general Public prefer "FAT PIG"

  14. Not even God will be able to save Goa if it prefers to have four MLA's from the same brand after next elections.

  15. For the information of Goans insiders tell me that the escape was stage managed on instructions by the top brass. So the khaki havaldars are actually just discharging their duties as instructed. Micheal should be on the Guiness Book of Records for max number of jail breaks (with police assistance) Jai Ho Micheal! Finish the supari now atleast otherwise learn to use a slingshot first!

Goan police are good at sleeping on the job, most have big bellies and cannot catch a fly except collect hafta for their bosses. Give them money and you can escape as many times you want. He has not escaped but set free to bring more loot.

Yes I have read that a failed Pilot called Yuri is after Sanguem
A failed Advocate, affectionately called BIG LIPS, is after Benaulim
A fat Pig called Churchill, is after Navelim
and a Smuggler called Joaquim is after Cuncolim.
This is called the Alemao "Brand"

    Hi Gurudas Lotlikar-Margao:
Since these pot bellied Goan cops cannot catch a house fly, can they at least "zip" their trouser fly?
