JACKSON’ FATHER: A SORRY TALE: A sad story by Robert de Goa in Dubai

I had not wanted to bring this in print but have to. I was in the flight from Goa to Dubai yesterday, 19th October by IC. As I was passing my time at the Dabolim airport, I happened to come across a few Goans who were with raised eyebrows and were on a hot topic. The topic was about our own brother, Jackson from Canacona who suffering between life and death at Al Rashid Hospital in Dubai. I happened to go beside his father who was travelling to Dubai on the same flight as me. I have to narrate some facts here as I am a vivid reader and follower of Niz Goenkar on a daily basis from the last five months.
Seat 10 C, flight IC from Goa to Dubai and I approached in a casual conversation with one gentlemen who later introduced me as Jackson’s father. Though I knew it from the boys in conversation, I made it sure that the gentleman is the same and not a mistaken identity. In conversation, I came across different issues on Goa and moved on to Dubai issues. When I mentioned Dubai, the gentlemen spilled his heart out. He said that he is the father of Jackson who is ailing at Al Rashid Hospital, Dubai. My heart wept, heart started beating faster. I made my space beside him and held his hand, the man was bitter about life and in tears. Tears were rolling down his cheeks, I consoled him and listened to his story.
Jackson, he said was hale and healthy when he left Goa. He named the agent as Samson hailing from Mangalore with a Goan wife took him to Dubai via Bombay where he fell ill and was referred to a doctor. Whilst on medication, he proceeded to Dubai. Seems his son in law Savio works in Dubai who received him on his arrival. On the third day, his sickness worsened and he was referred to a specialist doctor. After that, there was a pause, a few days later, he said they heard the sorry story of Jackson that never changed till today.
I asked him about the updates since then, the father told me that there was no contact from anyone except his son in law Savio, Mario and another two boys from the village. Reading the controversy on Niz Goenkar, I mentioned about St. Mary’s Goans and Niz Goenkars online. Since I know Cajetan Coelho personally, I asked him if there was any correspondence form this gentlemen, he was too naive of that name.
He was in more tears and mentioned to me that he does not know any St. Mary’s Goans from Dubai but confirmed that he knows Niz Goenkars team who helped him in many ways, visited his family, took him and his wife to the NRI Cell and obtained help through the Indian Embassy. “They were prompt in helping including the personal help rendered by Eduardo Faleiro, the Commissioner of NRI Cell”.
He was lost in mentioning the name of the officer at Secretariat who was so kind in many ways at two different occasions. He mentioned that Niz Goenkars, as a team were able to help him from obtaining the passport in a day's time, rending logistical support until they saw him on the plane to Dubai personally. He also mentioned that he was sponsored the fare for the round trip by Niz Goenkars who wished him with the best of prayers for the recovery of his son.
He also mentioned to me that there is some huge amount collected in Dubai for his medication that may not last for a month. He was much worried where I assured him that all help will be rendered if he would appeal afresh.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I asked him if he would need any support in Dubai and advised him accordingly.. Guided him until the counter to the Immigration, which was the end of our sight.
I know where to find him. Though we parted ways, we did not part our hearts, my heart weeps for the poor father. My heart weeps for Jackson. My heart weeps for the sufferings of our own Goenkar Bhau. My heart also weeps for the bitterness brought by the scuffle between Niz Goenkars and St. Mary’s Goans.
As I work in Dubai for the last many years, I know St. Mary’s or Goan Sodality. It was a good organisation but recently, they have been into more of entertainment rather than social service. I know Cajetan Coelho, he is not a man that he was. The organisation has lost it’s appeal, value and motivation. It has rather become a redundant voice of Goan cause.
I do know Niz Goenkars since a few months back and switched to it on regular basis a month ago after the controversy about Dubai Goans and Outside Goans broke out. I feel sorry for the Dubai Goans to segregate themselves as Real Goans. I compliment the Niz Goenkars for standing through the cause.
My final message and appeal to everyone who reads this piece is to pray for Jackson. Ask the Good Lord to help Jackson recover, to give strength to his family and we all stay united. Let there be Niz Goenkars all over and not Goenkars of a particular place or region. Viva Niz Goenkar!

  1. Robert thank you very much for the fresh news. It was indeed a touching story to read. The replenishing news that Jackson’s father is taken to Dubai to see his dear son is a good sign. May he get all the courage to face the reality and pray that Jackson out come of this ordeal and get better soon. We also should thank the Niz Goenkars who helped him to attain this trip. Hope and pray that this organization of Niz Goenkars increases in hundred and thousand folds to give justice and support to the needy. Special thanks to Menino and the supporters of Niz Goenkars. VIVA GOA – VIVA GOENKAR.

  2. Being part of Niz Goenkar there is nothing to boast about, but to be proud at what can be achieved with proper thinking and unity. Our prayers are for Jacksons recovery and for him to be with his family. God bless us all and guide us to the right path of Unity that we lack.

  3. I am glad that finally his father reached in Dubai and is beside his son. We pray on a daily basis for the recovery of Jackson. I salute all Niz Goenkars whoever were involved as a team and I do not want to say anything about SMGC, they proved themselves what they are. thank you Niz Goenkars for the wonderful work.

  4. So what were the SMGC doing all this while? How much amount did they collected and what is happening with the collected amount? Why not they issue a press statement as they did self publicity for nothing in the past?

True to your words you and we all Niz Goenkars, hope you will not be like SMGC after sometime. Bravo to you guys. If whatever yRobert wrote is true, I salute you guys as you proved to be the real Goenkars and not just Dubai Goenkars. I am also a Dubai Goenkar but not with SMGC which is a elite club of a few Goans.

  6. I don't want to get involved into the controversy of SMGC or whatever they call themselves. They have to repent for their sins and answer to the One High Up. I am thrilled at the success of NIZ GOENKAR! If this controversy with the Dubai click had not arose, Niz Goenkar also might have been dozing off. There is always a calm before the storm and this storm brought the Niz Goenkars to their feet and on the go. What a success story. Keep it up Niz Goenkars. You guys might have to face many such storms, but I, with my other Niz Goenkars, am with you all the way. Like Franco says, you may grow in thousand holds. God Bless Niz Goenkar and God Bless all those who are committed to be Niz Goenkars and fitht the corrupt.

  8. Yes Aggybaba, at this time we can only pray for Jackson's condition. Whatever happens, at least his father got to see him. His father's presence, even if Jackson is not aware of it, may bring a change in his condition. His father's touch might send vibrations through his body and wake him up. God alone knows and all of us Niz Goenkars can do is, pray for Jackson at this time. I should also not forget Niz Goenkars' organization for what they have done. It's an inspiration to others to leave their selfish deeds behind and come out as Niz Goenkars if you really care for Goa. Otherwise lick whatever these politicians' have left to be licked.

  9. Great job guys ! Very proud that our goan brethren are reaching out to each other. I used to always envy the Malabaris in the Gulf. Lets just forget about SMGC, Dubai and get on with our noble work. Whatever be their motive, i do believe that by lashing out at them on this open forum for everyone to read, it has done more damage to the image of goan unity and brotherhood. We have finally achieved what Niz Goenkar is all about and that is our satisfaction. Hope we can all make Goa a great place in the not so distant future

It will be too biased if I pen something here because of the past controversy. The parents asked for privacy as more confusion broke out due to the conflict created by SMGC and we stopped the updates. Niz Goenkars World wide were in touch with the family on a daily basis and will do in the future till we see Jackson on his feet. I know what Robert wrote is just the tip of the ice berg, there was more than what one could imagine. Jackson's father Brigito is the testimony. This is not the time to condemn or praise anyone, let us make efforts to do what we can to save a life that is awaiting to see the light.

  11. Truly apptreciate your noble work guys! Niz Goenkar you noble deeds will be remembered for a long time. Our prayers are with Jackson and family.

  12. What appears from what Robert de Goa has written that it was the sole efforts of NIZ GOENKAR that got Jackson's father into Dubai and not the SMGC or whoever they are in Dubai. According to Jackson's father the Dubai gang did not even call them to console or inform them about their son. Thank you Niz Goenkar and Mr. Menino de Valpoi, May God bless you. You and your team have proved beyond doubt to be the true sons of our beloved Goa. What a selfless sacrifice.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mike, let their deeds be remembered for a long time, but let us support Niz Goenkar not only to fight against the SMGC but against our corrupt politicians who are taking us Niz Goans for granted and for a ride.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would commend Niz Goenkar and its team for doing this fabulous job. SMGC were only name sakes then there was Praveen Viegas who tried to steal the show. These two groups have each separately collected money. I hope that at least that money they will spend wisely.

  15. Hello Shyam... I guess you are busy man now, since I dont see you on the forum like you used to be on the Herald. I dont want any controversies between Goans but, at this stage, if you compare the SMGC and Niz Goenkar, it is a victory for Niz Goenkar. I congratulate Menino de Valpoi and his team for coming out fearlessly aginst corruption in our Goan society. Long live Niz Goenkar and all of us Niz Goans to bring Goa to what she was before. To her past Glory!!!

  16. It's good that one of their Dubaicar brought this up. I have had many comments to my personal email from my friends in Dubai, but they did not want to join the debate. Someone said, after this controversy the Group has been renamed by real Goan Dubaicars as "Some Monkeys Gone Crazy" (SMGC).

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hats off to Niz Goenkar. They showed what team work is. They got the passport of Jackson's father within one day. They also ensured that Jackson's father reached safely to Dubai to be with his son. Niz Goenkars have proved that without the backing and support of the Chorcill and the 40 chors, they can help Goans in need.
Well done, Niz Goenkar and I hope we continue to grow by leaps and bounds.
    Mog asundi.

  18. Roberto, you being so sentimental and sympathetic have made many a heart weep. It was nice knowing that Jackson has his beloved Dad by his side at this difficult times. I pray that Jackson recovers from this uneventful journey to a new beginning.

Niz Goenkars empowerment has made things happen for Jackson in his hour of need.

    ReplyDelete
  19. SMGC and Niz Goenkars, the controversy is over? Cajetan posted his one sentence apology as I remember. Niz Goenkars prevailed over everything as proved by them, not just by hitting the key board but practically doing things. I do not know who are the team members but it must have grown to a big team by now. I found the efforts of Niz Goenkars are true to the core. If only this Cajetan Coelho combined the Niz Goenkars together, that would have been a much greater one but due to their ego, they were rude. Their ego was lost in the waste bin.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ratol Baba... Forget about SMGC. Let's put that topic to sleep. Anyway, you won't get any business from that side. Let us concentrate now on Mickey Mouse and the other chors where you have hope of getting at least some business.

By the way, I salute Niz Goenkars for the way they have handled this case and have come out with flying colours. Keep it up Niz Goenkar. God Bless Menino de Valpoi and long live Niz Goenkar.

It may be easy for you to forget dlp. For us Dubai Goans it is a nightmare. The SMGC has always been for enjoyments and collecting booties from everywhere. Now they are involved in getting Churchill the thief of Goa as a chief guest in Dubai. We the Dubai Goans have to counter attack them as they have kept everything a secret.

  22. Goan Executioner... I have just got the news that Chorchill is already in Dubai and staying in Savoi Hotel. For what occasion these SMGC got him there? Any idea??? Someone told me he is the Cheap Gest for a Tiatr. What Tiatr is it? I see in Herald that all Goan tiatrists are very busy with their tiatrs in Goa and not seen any mention of any tiatr being shown in Dubai. Is the tiatr of the SMCG, directed and acted by all their members? Can you shed some light on this please, Executioner? I'm waiting for your report.

I'm all for Niz Goenkar and if we have to fight our opponents, I am cent percent with you guys. Viva Niz Goenkar and Viva Dubai Niz Goenkars!!! I am proud of you brothers for coming out openly.

Hello everybody on blog: BREAKING NEWS: PIG churchill is in Dubai and is putting up at Hotel Savoy, Bur Dubai. He has been there at the invitation of SMGC and others. SMGC is silent and are doing things discreetly to avoid another controversy. Yes but this is fact.

  27. Goan Executioner thanks for the information The supporters of SMGC had accused Niz Goenkars of going to see MLAs for Jackson's case, "which was not true". The same people that are entertaining a Goan MLA with a red carpet. I am sure they seal their support for the Mopa Airport.

  28. We wanted to close this subject and wanted to move ahead, but if these so called Coelho and Company wants to create more controversies, I am all for it. They think that they can keep their actions to themselves, but I was already aware of it ten days ago that Chorchil will be visiting Dubai at the behest of the SMGC. And I also heard that the money they have collected in the name of Jackson is with the priest. How will the priest know how much they have collected? They must have given 50 percent to the priest and will spend the rest to entertain Chorchill, of course after Coelho and the rest taking their share of the loot. I am sure Chorchill has trained them how to do it, that is the reason they have invited him to Dubai to help them with this controversy.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Executionar..You people should now act and drive away this pig churchill and his supporters from your midst. You are in Dubai and can do it easily. Best thing make a garland of slippers and put it round the pig's neck and the leaders of SMGC too.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Jose Fernandes, Dubai21 October 2010 at 06:53

The departure and entry of the Chorchill pig was kept secret by the Dubai Mafia of selected Goans. Some of these Goans are "Tadi-par" those who cannot return back to Goa due to Criminal cases against the, SMGC is a group of people here in Dubai of all notorious people. Anyway, you Niz Goans showed the way of how things can be done in the right way. The corrupt SMGC will blast the money tonight on Chorchill and company who came from Goa for entertainment. One lazy bird told me that Chorchill was dragging his feet at Hotel Savoy this afternoon. I am sure Cajetan Coelho and his gang of notorious persons will cry on Chorchill's shoulder against Niz Goenkar.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jose... Let them cry on Chochills shoulders against Niz Goenkars. They have tried that during the last controversy with their crocodile tears and lost. What will Chorchill do. He may offer them his dirty kerchief and next day go on stage and blast Niz Goenkars. He has already called Goenkars "Dukor". Squealing like pigs, he had said sometime back. Maybe he was referring to these Goenkars of Dubai and not Niz Goenkars. We will know tomorrow. Keep us updated if you attend the Tiatr please.

  32. Politicians and other famous personalities coming to Dubai is no big news for the Goans living here. Dubai being the free port has always welcomed the Centre Pieces of corrupt societies with their bosom buddies. They are often here on a covert missions, such as money laundering, providing suparis, intimidation and above all exploiting the poor hard working Goans to take them out feasting at Dubai’s night clubs for drinks and dinners.

Some of these Goans find glamour and solace by pretending to know nothing when in the company of such evangelized scoundrels and unscrupulous crooks. Yep, there are Wolves disguised in sheep’s clothing amidst the Goans in Dubai who deserve public strip tease.

I read this article with deep interest. People think they are like hares. Hares cover their eyes with their ears and think nobody else can see. I always doubted these organisations and associations in the gulf. My fears have proved to be true. Out only for show and to entertain politicians. Churchill is right here enjoying such peoples patronage. SMGC is no different. Can Cajetan come out with the accounts of Jackson case?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Samson, Panjim / Dubai22 October 2010 at 00:12

Felix, you are too late in knowing things. We low wage Goans are not wanted by these organisations, they are only for Rich Goans. We have refrained from these groups a long time ago. Churchill was booed away for the Tiatr last night, what a shame. Picnic is on ALL SOULS DAY, what a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It is not often a chief guest gets booed, this goes to show how TRUE GOANS are disgusted with him. It is a lesson to those who have politicians as their Patrons. Let's hope he is not in Dubai for long otherwise it will change to "Dubai Nagar"

  38. To all friends and foes here on the blog, do not blame everything on the SMGC. They have not invited Chorchill to Dubai. This is some other group that brought him here. OK I agree they committed a blunder earlier. At the same time I do not understand why all you people write here about SNGS. This topic does not deal or say anything about them so why are you all pestering SMGC? Stop that.

I think some of you out there on the comments should find facts first before posting the comments. Churchill was invited by Benard and Anthony. Just do not go out of the way and blame the SMGC for nothing at all. OK It was C.D Silva who was booked and CHURCHILL got Silva cancelled because he is against him and forced them to take Peter Roshan who are his chamchas

  41. What a crab mentality of some Goans and specially dlp, who who talk sometimes sensibly, have blurted out rubbish here on the topic and out of topic. When you accuse somebody you must have proof of it. Just blurting out bluntly makes no sense. dlp you are a very sensible person and I know your comments are upto mark but here you are totally wrong about SMGC. In fact you have lit the fire without any wire. The next oaf and a madman is Goan Executionar of Dubai, who is out to instigate others to write something foolish. Proofs in such cases should be like the ones put up by the editor of this blog a letter or email from the SMGC. But here the topic is different. Please stick to the point all of you do not simply create stories. Let there be stories but true and real. SMGC is not involved in this Tiatr case at all.

"Usual Suspects" has been the story in the case of SMGC. But in this case, they are far off as they are presently keeping a low profile after the last disaster. DLP is right upfront and he has a reason as we have seen in the past blogs and comments. He is not vulgar.

For whom was the tiatr, for Churchill or Dubaikars? What has they have to do against C D Silva or Roshan, we fault here. As far as I know, the sponsors of the tiatr are taddi-pars of Goa.

  43. Cool down guys... we are all Goans. I do agree with some of you guys here that the SMGC was in no way involved in organising the tiatr. We need to call a spade a spade and give due credit where it is due.
Okay guys, let me confirm it to one and all; and all those who can lent me their ears; and for those who are hard of hairing, let me say it loud and clear.... SMGC and Goan Sodality didn't organise the tiatr and have not invited Chorchill to be the cheap guest.

These guys are only trying to protect their interersts and avoid exposure. Why aren't these guys coming forward and speaking boldly. I have also noticed in the article DUBAI THE KICK BALL there is one guy acting on behalf of the SMGC as the good samaritan. It is highly inquisitive to know what INTEREST DOES THIS GUY have in SMGC. SMGC has all grown and matured persons to the high post who do not need a mouth piece. I am strangely surprised why this third guy involve in uniting SMGC to other Goans. Why did he not do all this before the SMGC incident? Where was his Goan identity sleeping that time. I am doing studies on this guy and next time I shall come with something with this persons name though the name is mentinoed in the said article. Looks like he is involved somewhere in the money racket.

One day you are in the Pixem Antonette father’s bar, one day in Scotland, then Dubai and now Brussels etc. etc. and in spite of these hectic schedules, you have the time and aptitude to be on Niz Goenkar blog commenting on each and every case. I wonder from where you get all your intelligent findings almost at the tip of your fingers, your source is excellent and you have a good rapturous charactertics ecstasy. Well done keep up the good work and hope we will meet one day at Antonette father’s outlet to have a glass of whisky and dine (It will be on the house by me). By the way did you see TWP at this outlet or may be gone to some other joint enjoying his last few days?

  56. It was disheartening to hear the sad news of our dear Jackson. He fought a good fight till the end. May his soul rest in peace and the courage to the bereaved family members to accept what the Almighty God had stored for him.
