KHANAPUR 4 MURDERS ACCUSED WAS HIDING IN GOA

MARGAO: The Margao police on Friday morning arrested a murder accused who was wanted by the Belgaum police in connection with a case registered at Khanapur.  The murder accused was arrested by the cops at Maddel and was handed over to the Belgaum police, who had come down on Friday to take custody of the accused.
Margao police inspector, Mr Santosh Dessai said that the accused Shrikant Halalikatti (35), a resident of Khanapur, worked in a sweet mart shop there. Mr Dessai further said that Shrikant had committed murder of his wife and his three minor children aged 7, 4 and one and half year. The broad daylight murders were reported at Shrikant’s residence in Khanapur on October 17.
According to Margao police, Shrikant came to Goa on Thursday, October 21 and stayed in Margao. On Friday morning, he was seen at a STD booth at Borda from where he made a call to his friend. After ascertaining the location where the call was made, police sent a team to certain areas from where they received some clues and based on the description they had received from the Belgaum police, the Margao cops managed to nab Shrikant from Maddel.
Throwing some light on the motive of the crime, Mr Dessai said that Shrikant was friendly with a girl and added that the extra-marital affair could possibly have led to the murders. He, however, said that the exact motive is yet to be known.

  4. Aggybaba... This guy will surely grease somebody's palm who, in return, will inform him about the Human Rights Code that exist only in Goa. They cannot constrain him, the cannot touch him and if he tries to escape, they cannot even chase him. So he will jump and start running. Go man go. End of the story!
