COUNTING OF VOTES SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN VALPOI by Adv. Aires Rodrigues, Ribandar

The counting of votes in the Valpoi bye elections should have been done at Valpoi itself. This whole stage managed election drama should have ended there instead of inconvenienceing the City of Panaji.
The dry day in the capital city is also unwarranted and unjustified. Why make the people and tourists hop to Taleigao, Merces or Chimbel for a drink. The dry day if any should have been in Valpoi to avoid any tiffs from the poll battle hangover. We all know that this unnecessary election has cost the tax payer over 60 lakhs. How much it has cost Vishwajit Rane only he and God would know. At least courtesy the Health Minister the Valpoi lads will be able to watch the India – Australia one day cricket international at Fatorda on the 24th October. That is if the rain gods oblige.
