BRUTAL MURDER OF A GOAN BY A FELLOW GOAN IN SWINDON, UK

SWINDON: The Goan community woke up today on 21/05/2011 with utter shock to hear the horrific murder of a gentle Goan by a fellow Goan on 20/05/2011 at 09:30 PM in Swindon, UK. The Murder has shocked the whole Goan community in General in Swindon which was seen queuing at the backyard of the house of deceased Raimundo Perreira.
A happy Raimundo with his wife Maria and little son Samuel
Waves of resentment have swept among the Goans. No one is happy and are heard cursing and praying for the harshest of the punishment to the murderer. The incident has paralysed the Goans and it seems like that life has come to a standstill among the community of Goans in Swindon.
Niz Goenkar ventured out to get more of the story. At the moment there are no much details, but what we got from the locals and some sources goes like this.
Raimundo hails from Goa Velha, Saleria Waddo, in Goa is married and has one son.
On 20/05/2011, Raimundo who works night shift at WINCANTON, at South Marston, as usual left for his night shift at about 09:30 PM saying goodbye to his family, little knowing that this would be his last goodbye. Raimundo was not aware of the danger lurking and fate waiting outside.
According to the whispers in the crowd, he had hardly walked three minutes from his house when he was stabbed from behind continuously first on the neck by another Goan hailing from Santa Cruz in Goa.   The whispers also said that the stabber was accompanied by two more friends of his, one made good his escape in the darkness, and the third who was not involved in stabbing nor had any intention ran back to the house of Raimundo.
He banged hard on the door of the house and got Raimundo’s wife out and informed her to quickly come as her husband has been attacked with knife. From the whispers heard in the crowd from people unknown to us, the stabber stabbed Raimundo ample of times with one cut on the throat. Raimundo collapsed then and there.
When Raimundo’s wife reached there her husband was lying in a pool of blood. Within no time the Swindon Police and paramedics appeared on the scene. They took control of the situation. The paramedics tried their level best to get Raimundo revived but was in vain. Poor Raimundo breathed his last, though he was shifted to the Great Western Hospital immediately, nothing could be done and was declared dead.
The police have arrested two suspects one of them being the one who run to inform the victim’s wife
Today morning Niz Goenkar approached some police officers, who gently declined to give any information at this stage as they were not allowed to. But they did permit NG to click the photo of the scene of offence from a considerable distance. The police would not talk anything right away and the detectives were already busy with investigation.
A police team was seen searching the weapon used to stab Raimundo. There were two or three groups of Police on the scene. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into the service by the police.  After a hard and sincere work unlike the Goa police,  the Swindon police managed to trace and find the weapon used to stab Raimundo.
The motive of murder: Both the victim and the suspect were working in the same company. Some people were whispering that about an year back there was a small argument between the two, which took its effect last night. A month back the victim had received the “Best Employee of the Month” award.
Raimundo was a very cool and a thorough gentleman among the Goan community of Swindon. Swindon is also known as a mini Goa. He would always smile and talk very gently to whoever he met and had lots of friends. It was very tragic that a man with a clean image and good character should meet such a horrible death. He was only 40 years old. He is survived by his Wife Maria Susan Fernandes and his 5 year old son Samuel Pereira.  Raimund's little son keeps on asking why daddy has not come home as yet.  A heart renting sight and scene which makes all the visitors cry.

It was also heard that the arrested suspect was working in Calangute prior to his moving to UK.  There were some more whispers that he was involved in lot of brawls in Goa and was under the police scanner in Goa.Further it was heard in the gathered crowd that in Goa he was under the protection of some Goan politician, but could not be confirmed in detail.
More news will be flashed when we get more information on the case after due progress in its investigation.
Anyone with information should call Wiltshire Police on 0845 408 7000. or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Menino this is the second case in thirty years I have heard in UK where a Goan murdered  another human being. If Edinho  Carvalo had a criminal record in Goa how did he get his police clearance?. Goan Police makes it difficult for innocent persons to get clearance, but not for criminals. If he was not cleared this crime could have been prevented. Our sympathies goes to Samuel's Family, my hatred is diverted towards the criminal and those who cleared him in Goa. It is a pity UK does not have the death penalty. Goans by large are a peaceful community was stated by the Mayor of Swindon a few years back. I pray Goans are not judged by this horrible act.

  2. How come criminals allowed to go out of India without being screened for their records?  The Goa Police will do so if bribed, But it is mostly the politicians interfere with the police work and force them to issue PCCs to their known people irrespective whether the person holds a criminal record or no.  The politicians and police of Goa are both to be blamed for this murder of Raimundo

A tragic way to end a young human life, more sad as its carried out by a fellow Goan who is a known criminal in Goa. For this criminal to get a clearance to leave Goa he must have done favors for either the police or a politician. With a backhander it is not easy to get anything done in Goa. Our sleeping police only wake up to the sweet the sound of money. This criminal should be sent to prison in a third world country where punishment is the harshest. In comparison prisons in UK are 5 star.
I pray for God to give the family of Samuel the strength to bear the pain of his tragic loss.

  4. The Goa police are poch-pochit. if a crime is registrered at one station the other stations don't know of it. Okay baby thats it.
they dont't maintain a central repository of criminal records. Not that it will be any better if they do think keeping it. They will give the programming contract for 5 crores. Never give them ideas to Ravi.

  5. If he has PCC clearance, then Police officer who issued him this clearance certificate should be punished.

My deepest sympathies with Raimundo's wife, son and  family back home in Goa.
Why should we push the blame on others? Just because many of us Goans want to live a decent life, earn and have a decent living, it does not go to say that all Goans are having the same frame of mind or mentality. We have a fairly large number of Goans who feel they are "Liberated", and that they can do as they wish, with utter disrespect to fellow Goans. We have seen how a band of criminal minded people had formed 'Protectors' in Goa. We see how crimial minded people are time and again elected as their representatives in the Legislative Assembly not without the votes of similar criminal minded voters. It is the way they are brought up. They have had people in name of politicians to 'protect' them when in trouble with the Law. And have been used to such activities as there was never any discipline in life ever since Goa was under Indian rule. If these people think they can do the same things outside India, they are sadly mistaken and too late to realise. The parents of this criminal should be the most responsible people for such acts by their children. It is their duty and oath they have taken during their marriage on how they would bring up their children. We cannot blame government, Goa police, teachers, etc. etc. Parents are always responsible for creating a better or worse next generation society.
I am really upset with this tragic incident.

They have killed a Gentle man with God fearing nature. My prayers goes out to his family and his little son.May this thugs who are filled with cannibalistic demonic nature should be put to prison without any remorse for mercy.
If they are not punished, they will spoil the basket full of Goan goodies, which can have adverse effect on Goan community in THE U.K

Very Tragic and very sad, for it to happen to  a very young family.
My sympathies go out to the wife and specially the son.
I am sure all Niz Goenkars wish to express their deepest condolences ,on this tragic death of a much loved Goan.
as for the murderers, I hope they will, first rot in Jail and thereafter burn in hell.
Based on comments here, If Goa Police have not followed due procedures, in giving a Police Clearance to the murder then, they too are accessories and are culpable to this homicide.
Here for, information, is the definition of culpable which would best and approxiamately describe the corrupt action of Goa Police.

    From Wikipedia.
    "India
The offences include causing death whether by intention or not.
Culpable Homicide is an offence under s.299 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), defined as :- "Whoever causes death by doing an act with the intention of causing death, or with the intention of causing such bodily injury as is likely to cause death, or with the knowledge that he is likely by such act to cause death, commits the offence of culpable homicide."
Culpable Homicide not Amounting to Murder is an offence under s.304 of the Indian Penal Code. It applies to an event where the death is intentional but does not come within the IPC definition of Murder.  "

I hope this issue will highlight the corrupt methods and bribery, the Goa Police get involved in in issuing Clearance Certificates to known criminals.
Recent cases has shown Goa Police extending Visas of Foreign Nationals for a substantial fee.
The ex DGP has only used cheap words to describe Goa Police as the Best. But their actions prove otherwise.

It is very sad to have any human being to loose life thorough Crime, specially when one goes abroad to make a better life for  the family. The culprits must be brought to justice and made to serve the longest sentence possible.

It is a shame murders destroy two families, the victims and the criminals. Parents tend to bring their children in good faith, somewhere along the line children tend to drift towards crime. The results can be devastating.

Basically, the Goan community is very law-abiding people. Its a shame to hear such things. But one thing is certain the killer had a lot of resentment against him that lingered for a long time..

we talk about our politicians and now we common peoploe even commit equal crime, as a result we have no right to accuse others when we are in fault ourselves.

It is human rights that protect these criminals against the harshest punishment. I too would like to see the harshest punishment possible. Lets wait and see what sentence the criminal receives. At this moment in time it is the family of  the victim that we should think about.

  18. Sad story of a budding future. Sympathy to the family and harshest punishment to the criminals must be delivered. Since this happened in UK, it is likely that justice will be met unlike Goa police where the political influence will shadow the investigations and the criminal himself. Where Goa Police will investigate how rich and powerful is the murderer rather than having a thought on justice for the victim. Criminal being from Goa must be a trained goonda of some hard core criminal politician, this dadagiri won't work outside Goa, not even in Bihar nowadays.

Well all I can say is, lets not judge the whole Goan community by the act of one sick and criminal mind.  We are living in an age where we are exposed to so much TV and internet that criminal tendencies do crop up in some minds.  Also, the person involved in this crime is said to have had a criminal record back in Goa.  it would have been great had this man turned a new leaf.  But it seems that the criminal tendencies dont die down easily.  But all said and done it is important to give the family strength.  It is a very difficult time for them.

  21. Taking away a persons life is no ones right. Our Goans ( some of them) have lost all their values.Money seems to be in control of them, seeing someone come up in life is a crime for them. They have to use every measure to bring them down,so much that today a life has been snatched for reasons unjustified.
I hope unlike our Goa Police the UK police investigate this crime thoroughly and serve a deserving sentence to all those involved.

Though this may not be of any consolation to the family of Raymond, the can be assured the will receive true Justice in the UK.
Had this been in Goa, it is highly unlikely they would get any Justice.Instead the criminal would be made to look innocent & a hero and the poor family would be made to look like the guilty.
The murderer, whose name cannot be published just yet due to UK Press & Police Protocols and until he is charged, but whose name has been published in Goan Newspapers ,is from my reliable sources, a well known goonda and thug of the Goa MInister of Education, Babush Monseratte.
As many Goans worldwide are aware, Babush Monseratte is well known to buy Justice.
His recent money laundering case has disappeared into thin air.Where was Justice.?

@Andrewpegado I have not been to Swindon but have friends there, If one travels around England migrants from all over the world have formed vicious Gangs among their own communities at a very younger age. The worst at this moment in time are Somalis and Pakistanis, others are Shri Lankans, Bangladeshis followed by other communicates on smaller scale. Goans were never heard of having vicious Gangs because they were spread all over England and coming from different parts of Goa, In Swindon Goans are in Large numbers and very comfortable among each other, many come from the came areas in Goa. But if in the recent years they have formed such Gangs it is up to parents and families to break the Gang Culture. Academic opportunities Part or full time are easily available  in the UK (may be not in the immigrate surrounding areas) and advantage should be taken by these youngsters. Few years ago the mayor of Swindon once said it was a pleasure having Goans in Swindon. Goans are a pleasure to be anywhere and let us keep it that way.

    Hi Jack:
I can assure you this is not just a Goan Phenomenon. It exists all around the world and in all countries.
This also exists in all societies,Communities and stratas & classes  of Society.
It is made worse , when people display wealth or power through "arrogance".
To give you an example, the Monseratte and Alemao kids drive in expensive, foreign imported luxury cars.
They have not acheived this through hard work like most of us.
They have acheived this through foul & corrupt  means, officiated by their parents.
Instead, they parade themselves around Goa, with an air of power and cockiness.
Many Goan will naturaly resent such display of arrogance & power, when it has not been doen by fair means.
I am quite sure, people admire others that acheive wealth by hard work and by fair, known and accountable means.

Aires about the Ribander Church Molester. Who helped Fr. Newton to get the PCC and evade justice with escape route to Canada? The Bishop cleared his name in the Church corridors while the Governor of Goa Jamir closed the chapter. The Angels and the devils of Goa dances on the same tunes. Hope the justice of UK be fairly served and culprits be hooked and unearth their links in Goa.

    Hi Fulgen90,
I am sorry & if I can politiely  advise you,  this article is about the murder of a well loved family man, with a young wife & young child & not warring Associations.
It has no immediate or direct connection to the Goan Asociations of Swindon.
From what we are hearing, the murder was related to the workplace.
If differences ,from the 2 Associations crossed into the workplace, than that is a shame.

The alleged murderer may have been a member of one of the 2 warring or breakaway Associations,However he has no right in human law or Gods law  to take someones life. There are other methods available to resolve differences.Diplomacy is one.
In the UK they can go to a Small Claims Court to resolve any Financial issues.Free advice is also available from the Citizens Advice Bureau. The Local Member of UK Parliament would also offer advice or even a Parish Priest.

From all available information thus far , the alleged murderer is a product & member of the University of Goondas, thugs & criminals, headed operated & run by the Education Minister of Goa, Mr Atanasio (Babush) Monseratte.
You may reacll the storming of the Panjim Police station. You may also recall the assault on Aires Rodrigues and a friend at a Cafe in Panjim. You may have heard about the Extortion rackets operated by Babush Monseratte.I hope you are aware that half of Taleigao & Mira Mar & Dona Paula is now owned by Babush, Monseratte and his wife & Sons. I hope you are aware that in the murder of Cipriano, that Antansio Monseratte had a hand. It was on his authority that the murder took place.

I hope, you begin to understand, that for the whole Monseratte Family, "LIFE IS CHEAP" & not SACRISANT.
Any human being coming in or crossing the way, or path of Antansio Monseratte & his family is disposable.

You may recall that his (BABUSH Monserattes) wife Jennifer is alleged to have gone with bags of money to ask the  Mother,in the underage German rape, perpertrated by his son Rohit Monseratte, to not pursue a court case or drop the case. The German mother has also received several threats & has given up receiving Justice in Goan Courts.
Also understand that many other criminal activities of the Evil Monseratte family have gone  unreported due to fear of retribution and threats of dire consequences.
The alleged cold blooded "murderer" of a decent Goan Raymond, is none other than a follower and aspirant & disciple of the Monseratte family. He is also the export of criminals by  the Goa Police.

I do not believe the warring Goan factions  in Swindon have been fully "TALIBANISED".

  39.  It is sad that at such a sad time , some of the goans instead of grieving with the victim's family instead choose to bring up the issue of goan crab mentality. That itself speaks volumes about their mindset.

About the issue of how the killer managed to go to the UK despite having been under the police scanner. This is not surprising because even going back to the 80's the police have always made sure that those with petty crimes are sent to the gulf etc so that they can wipe their slate clean and start a new fresh life. Many have benefited from this and are now clean , honest workers despite their muddled past.

I am a bit shocked at one of the comments above asking for the killer's family to be hanged. Please remember Gandhi's words at this time...." an eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind"

I hope and pray for strength and healing for the victim's family

    Hi Lyn,
As stated by Anand, I too can assure you that Edino Carvalho will not be given a new identity. It is only given in special circumstances to Child murderers or as Anand stated Minors.
I guess Edino Carvalho will have accquired Portuguese Nationality, which in fact makes him an EU (European Union) .
He may not be deported, but the UK Home Office & Ministry can make a special case to deport him, if he believes the Portuguese Passport was obtained by fraudulent means.
From information streaming in from Goa , it seems like Goa Police have been iresponsible in this matter to a great extent.
Granting a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) to a known criminal is a travesty of justice. No doubt money has exchanged hands and a wink & nod from Babush Monseratte has given Goa Police permission to export this criminal to the Uk to destroy the life of a young family, and most poignantly a young son / boy.

Goan communities around the world are shaken bu this vicious act of Goan against a Goan in a foreign country. If the Goan Police carried out their duties to the latter of the law this crime would have been avoided. These are the followers of Goa's criminal politicians.
Our sympathies to families of the deceased, and I hope the families of the criminal do not cover for their B-STA-d criminal son let him rot in jail as there is no capital punishment in UK.

  57. With all due respect Mr Fichardo, i beleieve you are wrong in your assessment that  "In Swindon Goans are in Large numbers and very comfortable among each other, many come from the same areas in Goa". Infact the opposite if true. Andrew is right and spot on. He has been there and so have I and I can confirm every word.
There is lot of "kuskepon" among goans to other goans, then there are enemities imported from goa, regional goan politics etc etc. This crime is not just one -off and there is lots going on there about which people do not know.
Parents and families are engaged in a race to make Money, if you ask them why the rush you get an answer something along these lines " we have come to uk to make money". With this race in mind everything has been neglected, children being the most affected.
When I was in swindon, i tried my best to encourage young goans to take up apprenticships. but to most this isnt  a priority because it does not get them money fast, it does not get them flashy cars and trips to goa every few months to flaunt the money they earned  (sometimes its parents money). the buzz words are " vorak kitle meuta re".
I anticipate this problem to get worse in the coming years.
On a ending note, there are many engg opportunities for youngsters in swindon and in the immediate area (radius of 70-80 miles). They have Honda, intel, nationwide, Oxford has BMW, smaller firms in abingdon and milton keynes etc. further up midlands you have rolls royce and others.

    Hi Sandesh Gaonkar:
There is a fair chance that this criminal Edino Carvalho has come to the UK , on an Indian Passport.
Another Corrupt Goan called Matthew Diniz, who own the notorious Kentuckee Restaurant in Colva, a known drug & prostitution joint, and who is a close friend, gambling partner & business associate of Mickky Pacheco, is known to obtain UK visas fraudelelntly, for Goans.
His method of obtaining these short term visas,is by stating the visa is required as it was a Prize incentive for the best worker in his restaurant.
On arrival in the UK , they then go underground or abscond. They are then known, to work illegally.
Hopefully the truth will emerge in due course.
One thing for sure is that Edino Carvalho is a member of a vicious gang, based in Santa Cruz and involves 2 Goan MLA`s (one male & the other female) & their children.
The name Rudolf Fernandes .of Santa Cruz & son of an MLA  is hitting the Radars & news rounds.

    Hi Nelly:
I think this is not a case of CRAB Mentality as you and some others here state, but a case of a pathlogical or inbred murderer.
Edino was part of a Goan Gangland culture.
Edino Carvalho has been nurtured & encouraged in commiting crimes in Goa & given the blessing of MLA`s & their kids.
In the Uk he has taken it one step further, but much more deadlier & costlier to his family and that of the deposed.
This is appearing to be a clear case of Premeditated &PURE MURDER.
Edino Carvalho had every opprtunity in the UK to develop him self.Such opportunities are not always available in Goa.
Edino would not have had to bribe his way into a job in the UK.He would just have to show enthusiasm and merit.
From the info known so far, this was a workplace dispute, that spilled out into the roads / streets.
Edino must be seen as nothng than a cold blooded murderer. He got his kicks and pleasure from hurting people.
A photo of himself on Facebook tell it all.He was no CRAB.....just a plain thug.
People with crab mentality do not or are not known to always murder as a means to an end, of their crab mentality.
Crab Mentality is not common in the UK.

    Hi Earl Rainer:
I agree with you. Many Goans who have gone abroad eventually conform to social norms, good behaviour and decency.
However in the case of Edino Carvalho, and having looked at his Facebook Photo, I get the imoression that he was Flashy,Cocky,a Poser, and a  good for nothing, arrogant, proud of gang culture and a downright criminal.
Terror is written on his face, just like his mentor Babush Monseratte. He wanted to be seen as a tough cookie and a Lord of criminals and gangs.
Hard work is not "his cup of tea" or a" flavour" he enjoys .Trying ot make money the easy way and through crime probably was.
I am sure in due course we will learn a lot more about him and his accomplices.
At the time of making this comment Edino Carvalho, has been charged with the murder of  Raymond and will appear in court on the 23rd May 2011 to be formally charged and make his plea of Guilty or not Guilty. His accomplice, has been released onPolice bail, pending firther investigations.
The full background of Edino will now be investigated, including his arrival in the UK and any criminal activity or behaviour in Goa.
Perhaps we will also learn of Goa Police laxity, in the issuance of his Police Clearance.
For the moment You & and I and the rest of God fearing Goans , hope & pray that Raymond, his wife and specially his son & his family will receive justice.

Hanging is still available in India, though rarely used nowadays.

I live in North Goa and the word abuzz is that Edino the criminal was a gangster in Goa itself. What a pity, a gangster can travel with police clearance is not a surprise when Atala can go seven seas afar.
A bruised name for the Goans of Swindon and it is high time they should inform the local police about other Goan criminals hiding in their locality who evaded arrest in Goa for criminal activities and now hiding in UK.

    Hi Matthew,
Based on previous such crimes, Edino Carvalho will probably be jailed for LIFE meaning full Life , without parole or remmission.Parole is granted for good prison behaviour. However this is unlikely in the case of Edino.
His past crimes & background,in Goa, may be taken into consideration in sentencing.Any minor misdemeanors in Swindon too will be takin into consideration.
His crime was too vicious. Stabbing a person 17 times is extremely serious. It will make anyones blood curdle & the thought, give someone  nightmares.
In all probability, Raymond was even stabbed several times, after he breathed his last. There was absolutely no mercy shown.
In the UK there is an element in defence, called Mitigating Circumstances (Edinos excuse). It will be interesting to see what these are and what led to Edino murdering Raymond.
I have reservations about crab mentality being an issue in this case.
To me, this "CRAB" called Edino, was more than de-ranged and  drug infested murderer.

  69. @N. Fernandes, this Mathew Kentuckee along with Mickey pacheco, the ex-Tourism Minister were involved in huge rackets of human traficking since long. These are the products of the criminals and Edino is one. In North Goa, you can see this Mathew Kentuckee with Mickey, Monserrate at TITO's doing pimping after midnight. Mathew also deals in drugs and fake currency.

He had a very bad behavioural background.  Please don't hold the parents responsible for crimes committed by such an elderly man. His parents are dead and gone. Let them rest in peace. But this man is a very bad character and he should be punished severely for the crime that he has committed. Before  committing such a crime , he should think about the consequences that it have on the family. Poor Samuel will be growing up without fatherly affection. At this point of time My heart felt sympathy goes to Raymond's wife Maria and her little son Samuel

Hi Romulus10.: I agree with your view / assessment. However I also agree with the view by Diogo Fichardo.
The very first tranche of Goans that initially arrived or emigrated, from East Africa, following independence movements there , to the UK ,lived with family or friends on arrival, and then eventually sought indepedence & spread themselves around. the UK.
The Swindon Goans , are mainly beneficiaries of the issuance of Portuguese Passports.
LIke all immigratory trends, people arriving, like to be, initially, in their own communities.
Once they have  assimiliated and settled down in the new culture & surroundings, they too ,move away from the Community and spread them selves.
Goans in my view ,do not like living in Ghettoes.Goans like to embrace & live within  all different cultures.
Goans arriving in Swindon have come over during difficult economic times.
From the information I have, Many or may I say a majority of Goans in Swindon come from the Goa Velha area. These are villages like St Cruz & Agassaim etc. , I gather. But there also Goans from other villages .
Generally most of the Goans in Swindon are hard working & law abiding people.
However there is an element of Goondas, non -educated villians, thugs, gangsters, that have also arrived.
MAny of these villians have been facilitated to come to Swindon by Babush Monseratte & Victoria Fernandes (Mummy).
I recall about 2 years ago, The Goan Swindon Assoc. invited Babush Monseratte as a Chief guest for a Feast.
He did not turn up as his buddy Mickky Was involved in teh Ratol case.Another local MLA  from Agassim instead replaced him .
This goes to show you Babush`s  importance to the villans & Goondas, now in Swindon.
These goondas like Edino and a few others, who must have gone underground at present, and out of radar too, are still serving their masters like Babush and Mummy & Rudolf.
I am sure in time Goans from Swindon too, will spread themselves around the UK, as soon as opportunities arrive. If Goans are known to have a crab mentality, then this too should disappear.
For the moment Goans in Swindon must keep watch on the Thugs & Goondas still tied & controlled by their masters in Goa that are disrupting the peace & harmony of law abiding & decent Goans.
Lets hope Edino is the 1st & last of these dirty social animals & scumbags.
Hope this will go some way in explaining my view as to  why I agree wiht you and Diogo too.

Fulgen90: once again I am not sure if you are discussing a murder case or bickering amongst the Swindon Goan Associations.
Many Goan Assocaiations form and disband or splinter. But I do not think they resort to murder  to settle scores.
The Goan welfare Association in Doha is one such example. No murders were commited when a  split took place.
What has the President ,who is on Benefits, got to do with the murder of Raimundo.?
Please also remember that everyone at some time in his life will be unemployed.I am sure you too have been in such a situation your self. Also remember Politicians defect to other Partys if the Policies are wrong, or as in the Case of Churchil & Valanka, where ever the can screw all Goans & Goa of money for their family benefit.

As I stated I have not been to Swindon and you Guys could be on the spot in your assessment. I do share in your view that Goans should take advantage of apprenticeships available in UK. Just a true  example in the company I work for we have Indian Muslims of Gujarati's origin taking up apprenticeships (A level science and maths required), It is a three years course (during the term they attend college too) followed by a final exam of theory and practical. There is an assessment when passed they are on top wages, BUT the sacrifices take four years. As you say and you are  correct Goans are come to make quick money without patience.

    Hi ANAND:
In  UK prisons, Indian prisoners are known as "CURRY BUNNY`S" ,by the homosexuals.
The term "bunny" comes from or is  in reference to a type of bread eaten by Christians on Good Friday or the last day of fasting & just before Easter Sunday. Its proper name is "HOT CROSS BUNS".

Strangely, hetrosexuals too, out of frustration, eventually indulge in having a "CURRY BUNNY".
You are absolutely correct when you state that murderers who kill & where a child has lost a parent & is an orphan, get badly roughed up.

    Hi Delphine,
Unlike Goa, where such cases are dragged through various Courts i.e Magistrates/JMFC to>High Court to>Supreme Court, this Case will be expedited soon in the UK.
In my estimate it will be dealt with as soon all the evidence, medical reports, coronersreport,DNA tests,Witnesses, backgroungd checks,Psychiatary Tests are completed.
Edino is due to appear in Court Tomorrow,27th May 2011.
It will be interesting to see how he pleade...Guilty or not guilty.
There is also another plea he has to enter. Whether is Murder or manslaughter.
Murder is usually premeditated (Planned) & then executed.
Manslaughter is usually a lesser form of murder that carries a lesser jail sentence or jail term.It can be due to diminished repsonsibility or spur of the moment action, or due to other factors.
We all will know this tomorrow.
Goa Police & the MLA`s that helped Edino could also be revealed.
It will be very interesting to see how this criminal got out of Goa and avoided justice there.

Hello Sir Menino, thanks for the news coverage of this gruesome murder.  You have covered it well and we got the news here in Goa.  Herald did cover it from Niz Goenkar I am sure but others like Navhind times failed to bring before the Goans this news when they could have well taken it from NG.  What a shame and selfish type of newsline is Navhind.

My sympathies go the the bereaved family of Raimundo specially his little son Samuel.  May God protect them now and forever.  Let the killer rot in jail all his life.
