WHILE PANJIM STINKS OF GARBAGE THE MAYOR RACES FOR A NEW CAR by Adv. Aires Rodrigues, Ribandar

The revelation by the Mayor of Panjim Yatin Parekh that Chief Minister Digambar Kamat had asked him to go slow on the proposed garbage disposal plant at Baiguinim is a matter of concern.  The Corporation of City of Panjim and the Goa government have given an undertaking to the High Court on the Bainguinim plant for which even the land has already been acquired.
Any politically motivated behind the scenes manipulation to deviate and delay the Bainguinim plant would infact be in contempt of the High Court.
Ironically instead of expediting the setting up of the Bainguinim garbage plant, Mayor Y
atin Parekh’s priority has been to purchase a new Rs 8 lakh car although the Mayor’s current official car is in perfect condition. If Mayor Parekh feels that his predecessors may have left some stink in the car he could have used an air freshener. There was no need to go in for a new car especially inview that the CCP coffers are empty and Panjim is stinking in garbage.

  1. This happens when people  get sudden riches and  fame. Their original class and standard remains the same.  "Dekho naslelelem deklem ..........."  Another liquor baron like shirodkar from Taleigao .
