FORCE HUMILIATED IN DELHI - By Allwyn George

The Congress leaders seem to have taken the leaders of FORCE for a ride in Delhi for three days without any positive outcome. The very fact that members of FORCE allowed themselves to go to Delhi shows the immaturity of the movement led by Savio Lopes. I have been shouting from the rooftops that the way FORCE is following the strategy is not going to work.
The March 27th deadline of FORCE did not serve any purpose but gave enough time for BBSM to plan their counter moves. At the FORCE rally at Varca in the first week of April, I was surprised that the rally ended with again taking the same resolution which was taken at their Panjim rally. I was surprised and felt let down and forced myself on stage and grabbed the mike and had to publicly impress upon the members of FORCE that their tactics are not going to give us our goal of English as MoI. I demanded from them to spell out their action plan as the government is not going to listen to their language of Gandhi era. My actions had wide support of the parents gathered and left the FORCE leaders spell bounded. In my articles on Herald I have been in the forefront of trying to force them to intensify their struggle and come out with an action plan.
FORCE as I am saying for so long has no teeth and Savio does not know to keep his words on deadlines.
Parents have got fed up by the same rhetoric and inaction. Now that they are camped and returned from Delhi empty handed what purpose it is going to serve apart from having tea parties as the main irritant BBSM has wisely not participated in the talks. Our ministers have only gone there not to solve the problem but because elections are round the corner and to fool the people that they are with them. Savio and his team is too simple to understand this techniques of the politicians as they will drag this issue till next elections. The Central team will bring immense pressure on FORCE to maintain status quo and to solve the matter next year. FORCE I think lost out without any action plan which they could have forced the govt. by virtue of the public support they had. Now the issue has been politicized and nothing is going to come from the Delhi meet. I pity the fate of the parents who will have to force their children again in Konkani medium due to their financial constraints.
It is shame for Goans that the government is incompetent and unable to fulfill the aspirations of thousands of parents demanding English as MoI. For three days members of FORCE have spent in Delhi and have been humiliated. FORCE is not realizing that they have lost valuable time and wait till kingdom comes and our will be done. I think the agitation has to be taken over by likes of Dinar Barros as the present members of FORCE do not seem to realize the ground realities.

Taking the  fight to Delhi certainly destroyed all hope, the fight should have been conducted on Goan Soil with every ounce of energy. Every organization in Goa tends to lose its Grit with political involvement. Depending on New Delhi is a suicidal matter  as they are anti-Goan Life.

  3. Savio is immature and took this opportunity as a free ride to Delhi to have a glance of Babus and sight seeing. The dreams of the parents are left in the cold. Savio should have called Delhi down rather than taking our issue and putting it in the mouth of the sharks sitting in Delhi. Savio knowingly himself a small fish thought otherwise. In this case, the parents whom I spoke to in Goa in the last few days feel that they are solely taken for a ride. The original PTA under Dinar Barros was the right one but however, Savio formed his splinter group called FORCE which ultimately has lost it's strength within. We need a real FORCE that will bring down Delhi and not run to Delhi. Digambar Kamat who attended the meeting in Delhi was just there for half an hour and returned back to Goa, was it for a joke to spend public money for fun trip? What inputs did he put in for this meeting in half an hour? Was this ploy to take Savio & Co to Delhi and entertain them and forget the issue?

Every organizations in Goa have lost its steam, Caju and Choris Pavo might do the trick!!! We start on a good footing but loose on political pressure or political sweetener.

  5. As long we're  a colony of the Indians and invader Indians, we'll never have a say in our internal matter. The Bailos and Ghantties will do what ever they want with us.
We've to have independence from India, this is the only solution for all our grievances.
Some how the people of Goa should not vote for Congress, BJP and other Indian parties,  these parties have their own interest in mind, not at all of Goa or it's people.

One good reason also to start the QGM "Quit Goa Movement"

@7c5a66df51107b5fb5379d26029517ac As long as we are part of India Goans will never get what they rightfully ask for. Every organization pops up without a proper mandate then disappear in thin air,Giving politicians the last laugh. They do not have fuel to fight any causes.

  7. Dear Goans...get united to fullfill your demands. The politicians are very smarts and that is the reason they are getting elected even after stabbing Goans in their back.As per Chorchill & Cowmuth Digambar  they want to rule Goa through the famous phrase"Divide and Rule" and with that intention they invite the FORCE to Delhi....rest for you Goans to think of their plans....so pls get united to teach very good lesson to bastard churchill,Digambar a lesson of playing with fire of Goans.

  8.  It is the first mistake of FORCE as they went to Delhi to solve thier problem. it is problem faced by goan and should be solved at goan soil. Our political leaders know that Goans are susegad...and after some times they will forgot the issue. It hapen so many times. Best thing is to boycott these political leader. I dont think Goan will get anything in India.

  9. The lack of courage on the part of the State government to take a bold decision has exposed its incompetence in solving the problems of Goans. Half the cabinet moved to Delhi where the final decision has been taken by the party president. The same is to be conveyed to the Chief Minister and the State cabinet is to take the final decision. Since the final decision has already been taken by the party president, the decision by the State cabinet will be just a farce.

Besides, it is only the aided schools that will be able to introduce or change to English as the medium of instruction. The presently unaided schools will continue to collect exorbitant fees without any supervision by the Department of Education.
