THE TRAGIC END AND THE SENTIMENTS FOLLOWING THE MURDER OF RAIMUNDO by Menino Fernandes

A sad and tense moment followed today in the town of Swindon, along the Gladstone Street, where the family and well wishers lay flowers on the spot where 40 year old Raimundo Pereira fell to an assassin’s knife.  It was a moment of tears for the wife of Raimundo, Maria and his sister Aida as seen on the picture. Also seen on the picture are the blood stains left after the police washed off the clotted blood yesterday on 21/05/2011.
Goans laying flowers at the spot were Raimundo fell - Standing in black
is his wife Maria and the sitting touching the place is his sister Aida where
the blood marks are seen
Condolences were pouring in, in the house of the deceased. As the wife and sister of Raimundo, reached the spot the broke down completely and had to be helped by the Goans who were present on the scene. This is the site which will never be forgotten by the family and all the Goans in general as here lay the lifeless body of Raimundo Pereira who was also a good friend of mine.
I had met Raimundo one day before he was brutally murdered, as I was proceeding home. We said hello to each other and spoke for a while and then he left for his home. This will never be forgotten as the next day came the tragic news that shook the whole of Goan community in Swindon. Sadly to me too was his last bye.
Now our prayers must go for the soul of our departed Goan brother, who I sure is in heaven, given his nature and behaviour. Raimundo was a pious man and was always seen going to the Church in the morning everyday after his work. He very soft spoken and had very polite manners and kind words. He was never seen in angry mood and was not a moody person.
This gentle soul fell to the knife of a brute, who justified his jealousy by this spineless act. “To each one according to his deeds” says the holy scriptures and every one has to pay for what he does according to his deeds.
My heartfelt sympathies go to the wife of my friend Raimundo, Maria Susan Fernandes and to his little five year old son Samuel Pereira. I pray to God that may he protect this family and the little boy, who has been orphaned by a brute and an animal with his dastardly deed. My prayers go for the soul of Raimundo, may he find peace in his heavenly abode.
May the Good Lord protect and guard his family now and forever.

  2. I, my family and fellow Goans pray to God Almighty to give the Raimundo family the strength to bear the tragic loss. May God protect each common Goan from the hands of the criminals, patronized by the Goan politicians who make "dadagiri" on every corner of the streets.

May God protect the little child of Raimundo.

  6. Hope the new IGP of Goa put all the politicians under the bar as most of our politicians are  GOONDAS, LAND MAFIAS, SMUGGLERS, PIMPS,DRUG DEALERS AND ORGANISED CRIME SYNDICATES. This brute is a product of GOONDA Rudolf Fernandes. The dummy mummy ghantti of ST. Cruz should hang herself as she failed to educate her children and because of this shameless family they brought shame on all peace loving GOANS.

  7. To the irresponsible parents of the brute monster : Take the rope and hang yourselves.

They say time is a healer, those are  just easy words. We Goans are a very placid race we love our dear ones, and bleed when they are hurt but cannot bare the sorrow when they are taken away from us. Specially under such tragical circumstances. God give courage to Raimundo's wife and specially the little child to come to terms with their loss. I pray that justice be served and the criminal be locked in for life and he kill himself in Jail .

  10. If as said this person had criminal cases against him, how was is allowed to leave the country. How did the Police give a PCC ( Police Clearence Certificate) This needs to be probed in Goa through RTI. This lapses occur now and then in Goa. If Not the political Bosses then who gave him PCC.

This ugly incident is a "black spot" on the soul of every Goan, and no words can condemn the cruel murder. It is a clear sign that many of our youngsters are 'disturbed' and something is clearly wrong in the priotoritization of our values. This is no time to pass judgments,  but to learn new "life lessons". RIP Raymundo!!!

Do not place too much hopes on the new IGP. If Any authority is sincere, it cleans out its own house first.
Let us first see him clean up the Police from criminals and drug pushers, only then will the public think again about changing their impressions.

Too many movies and adopted identity is the resulted of pursuing dual personality. At the age of 15-25 is supposed to be a very critical period. walking out of adolocence to teens and into adulthood. if there a
in't any proper guidance or awarness then they tend stray away fall victim to vices of disoriented elements.
Parents play a vital role here, However if they come from a background of broken marriages or products of diplomatic pragnacies ofcourse than the result will be like edino. Can some one tip some thugs  inside the jail to get this brats arse banged and rammed so that he spells his end inside the can!
there can't be better justice than latter.hope some black thugs have him fumped and beaten to death inside the jail ther ain't a better for this illicit product,no place for his parents in the society too torch the parents for breeding such virus science says it too eliminate or erradict the source of virus from the face of the earth and letter humanity survive with harmony and justice.

My prayers are with Raimund's wife and son. may his soul be embraced by the kingdom of God.

    't any better way

  18. Thank You Niz Goenkar for standing with Goan causes. I read Oherald today and saw some of the photos published by you on this blog. I salute you for the good work and for the cause of Goa. If not for Niz Goenkar, we would have never known so much about this crime, Goan politicians involved in spreading weeds of crime, corruption at all levels, police harrasment of the weak and poor community and many other Goan issues. God Bless Niz Goenkar, God bless Menino.

For the sake of the readers, I hope someone known to this murderer from the Sta Cruz or nearby village will throw light on the character of Edino when he was in Goa.

  19. I hope the parents are proud ot their offspring. As per Mikes mistaken identity, his father was also a goonda and a criminal. What else can you expect about this bastard? What about his mother??? I dont know much. But I can come to the conlusion that he is the product of two elements of the same herendous blood. I am sure the Devil is having a party in hell that he has got one more Cain by killing Abel. I have devoted my today's rosary to Raymondo's soul to give him eternal peace and to give his family, especially his wife and the little son, to give them strength and courage to bear this loss. May God Bless them.

    HI PAPA RAZI:

we are all looking forward to hearing about the background of this Monster and his family and gang.
Also The Politicians who helped him.
His Parents (if not them) will know which Politician was directly involved in shaping this Monster.

  21. This article and the photos brought tears to my eyes and I have not words to say but would like to convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Raimundo and specially to his little boy who, I am sure, knows nothing of what has actually happened.  Have courage in this world to go on.

  23. Everyone has to pay severely for their worst deeds. The culprit will have to pay the price for his act of an coward and he will definitely pay for it.Really felt very sad for his five year old son.
We all will die one day or the other but sweet memories will always live forever.
In death we don't die but leave before.

@dlp I am not much of a praying man but the little I pray is for God to give Raimundo's Wife and Son courage and strength. This incident had hit me harder then no other, it makes me feel like they are part of our lives.

  26. If Edino Carvalho had previous criminal record registered with the Goa Police, then the person in charge who issued him with a No Objection Certificate to leave the country, should face the music. Generally police clearance in Goa can be obtained by bribing the department a few quid. No one actually does a physical check on records or in some cases wouldn't even know where the person is residing. These are all formalities by the Goa Police. Any law can be easily broken if one has the money to bribe our corrupt police officers.
