PARENTS SHOWED THE WAY THROUGH FORCE: SAVIO LOPES

MARGAO: It was late afternoon and the news spread like wild fire that finally demand for MOI in English is accepted by the government. For some, it was a dream comes true, others said it was just a far cry to believe.  But by late evening, the wind was clear and was confirmed as the news flashed everywhere. Parents thundered in applause much before the finer details were revealed and known to them. After all, it was a victory for a just demand by the parents for the future of their siblings.
Savio Lopes addressing the crowded gathering of Parents
Niz Goenkar took the opportunity to call on Savio Lopes and conveyed the feelings of the parents. Savio spoke on line and accepted the good wishes of the people in general and that of NG and said will convey it to his team. He refused to accept the theory that it was due to FORCE but reiterated that it was due to the interest, dedication and presence shown by different people as individuals, organisations and the parents who were the major stake holders. He said that he and his team were just instruments in moving the cause forward. The real winners are the parents who demonstrated the power for a real change, who came out on the streets and forced the government to do the just.
Savio commended NG for standing up with FORCE and the people of Goa and said that NG is doing a tremendous job of exposing corrupt people and educating the real Goans.
NG takes this opportunity to reassure all social organizations in Goa that we will stand for social causes, fight corruption and expose the wrong doings of the government for the welfare of Goa. We stood thin and thick with FORCE, the parents and NG’s opinion is that those parents who stayed away too will benefit with the new decision.

  2. " I DON'T WANT TO OPEN THE PANDORA'S BOX "LUIZINHO FALEIRO USED TO REPEATEDLY SAY WHEN WHEN CONFRONTED WITH THE QUESTION OF ENGLISH AS MOI.  ALL POLITICIANS ARE SCARED. IN FACT ALL POLITICIANS FROM THIER HEART WANT ENGLISH. IT IS ONLT THEIR ELECTION EQUATIONS THAT SOME HAVE TO SAY OTHERWISE.

IN THE END IT TOOK  THE PEOPLES MOVEMENT TO DO IT.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME SAVIO, YOUR EFFORTS SHALL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

  5. Well done Savio,You took the lead and got the rightful demands of each and every parent and the student community  met, at a time when our Politicians were just busy running to the center to meet their own selfish personal needs or just giving a deaf ear to the desperate calls made by the parents.I hope now  FORCE will be a force to reckon with and more issues to the cause of our motherland will be taken up. Congratulations to the entire team, parents, students, NZ who backed this motion and gained positive results. (Our illiterate, power hungry, selfish, politicians in power shame upon you for not being able to stand up on your feet to resolve this issue)

    Hi DLP:
Here is my explaination of FORCE.

It is a double edged sword.

1 "edge" of the sword, is the Parents that FORCED the Govt to provide grants to schools for English  MOI.
    and the other edge is.....
F.O.R.C.E,which is the other sharp edge that  organised the demand.

    Hi GOBOR:
These days Goan Politicians are not afraid of the TRUE GOAN (NIZ GOENKARS).
The fear the Ghantis and migrants who are their vote banks.
However I have heard that of a lot of Ghantis and migrants, too, want to give their children education in English.
They see this as a way forward...not backward as the likes of Shahhikala Kakodkar and her motley crew of nutcases & Geriatrics (old & infirm in thought ,proccess & progress).

  8. YES MGP IDEOLOGY IS RETROGADE

WHEN SHE WAS THE CM SHE ENCOURAGED  DIOCESAN SCHOOLS TO UPGRADE TO HIGHER SECONDARIES. THE BIG BAMONS FROM BORDA OBJECTED TO HOLY SPIRIT SCHOOL BEING  ELEVATED BECAUSE THEY WERE SCARED THAT THE GAVDA COMMUNITY FROM BORDA WILL GET EDUCATED AND THERE WILL BE NO ONE TO WORK.  YEARS LATER WE HAVE 90 PER CENT MIGRANT GHANTIS FROM GANDHI MARKET , FAKIRBAND AND MONTE HILL IN CHURCH SCHOOLS. GOANS AND MORE SO CATHOLICS ARE PATRONISING MANOVIKAS AND VIDYA VIKAS.
CASTE POLITICS HAD PLAYED A LARGE HIDDEN ROLE THOSE DAYS. NOW WE SEE THE VELIPS HAVE REVOLTED. MORE IS LIKELY TO COME.

I telephoned my relations & some friends in Goa today.
They were all very jubilant that English will now be taught in primary schools.
This must be considered an asset to the childs early multi-lingual development.
The children of my relations, and many friends, all speak Konkani & English too very fluently.
    I am proud of them.
down with the BBSm and their crazy ideas & expertise on education.
