In my 37 years of life,till today I don't understand what exactly Liberation means?In so called liberated Goa,a day ago, about 90 Cavrem locals including women and minors were arrested for fighting against injustice.Their holy water and air is polluted in the name of mining and looks like according to law,fighting to save nature is a offense.
Nobody is against mining but everything has got the limit and when we cross the limit,we invite disasters.Our ground water got polluted in the name of mining and polluted industries but in spite of taking such issues in a serious manner we are more interested in protesting against films and poems.
Was Cypriano not murdered by the Police?Was Atala not freed to run away?Was Scarlet not Raped and Murdered?Are drugs not available in Goa?Are Police themselves never held for drug dealing?Is the Crime rate including Rapes,murders,robberies increasing?
Did we witness the same during the Portuguese Rule?I am really not aware because I was born in liberated Goa.Looks like things are more easy in Goa for Law breakers than law followers.Our Legal rights are been sold by people in power to migrants to strenghten their vote bank.
When there are loads of dirty issues to be dealt with,our so called freedom fighters are interested in cleaning Goa from Portuguese names.Will writing and speaking help us to save our beloved Goa?If we try some other means the ugly people in Power will charge us as Naxals.

I appreciate your writing, at the same time want to make it clear that Goa wasn't liberated but Invaded and history will tell you. And I totally resent for your praising India with "JAI BHARAT". Why to praise them when they forcefully grabbed our beautiful Goa and imposed their filthy and lawless rules on us. Be proud to be GOAN but not as Indian.

ReplyDeleteIf I were you I'd omit Viva Bharat, it's bharat, Hinduokastan, India and it's Ashoka chakra that we are facing the problems that you mentioned above.
If you see the indian emblem, the four lions on any coin, then you'll see one head is missing that's the head that robs and we don't know who it is!! if it's a lion or a donkey.
The congress, bjp and all indian parties are in Goa with the help of traitors like babush, churchill, naik, rane's, parrikars and the list goes on. These parties are here to rob and destroy us. If you've noticed the Government of GOA is implementing on us what they want. They say marathi is the language of Goa, they say that the navy has it headquarters in Goa, The islands belongs to the navy. They say real true Goans with a population of just a merge 600,000 needs another airport a MOPA.
The freedom fighters are just puppets of the government who pamper them for their own gains.
The answer to our problem is Independence from the union of India that we never were a part. They forced us to be one of them, now they are running over us.
As long as we've traitors in our mist, we'll remain Indians for centuries to come. in 20-30 yrs Hindi will run over Konkani and English, The Indian invasion if you have noticed killed the Portuguese Language overnight, in a decade our loving football was killed, replacing with boring Cricket, Our Goan culture is dying a slow death.
Do you know what is Comunidades LAND? or Banda? if you don't know please research on it, you will then understand what I mean with slow death.

I shall restrict myself to the Cavrem episode: Government arranged for THREE busloads of ARMED police, besides other police teams from THREE police stations, to fight our own defenceless people. The men in uniform are said to have torn the garment of a woman in saree.
ReplyDeleteThe protest was against illegal mining and transport of iron ore from early in the morning to late in the evening. The trucks going to and fro caused untold hardships to the local people, polluting the waters, polluting the air. Armed police to force the people to drink polluted water and breathe polluted air? Armed police to permit the transport of illegally mined ore? Armed police to fight against Goans?
You can't blame this lad, he was thought the tainted history by the invaders, Pray that he is a regular guest by NG, he will in time learn that we were Invaded by India.
ReplyDeleteMr Joel, the photographs on this site in another article below yours says it all. The Goa police are brutes and scoundrels of first class. They get hafta from the mining trucks. So they will naturally attack the locals who are trying to save their place from destruction from mining. The Goa police will act against the mining trucks if they do not get their haftas regularly as I remember once what Shamba Sawant the son of a fishmonger(mother sells fish still in Valpoi bazar) and brother of a fishmonger, when he was in Bicholim as DySP he started stopping the trucks at Chireakhond a little after Sanquelim on the way to Marcel and after getting his hafta the trucks were plying as they liked. Such are the crooks Goa police for money they do anything. Atmaram Deshpande is now sleeping as he gets his haftas directly inside.

They got the best by the British specially by general dyer who massacred the indians in thousands. General Dyer commited a mistake. He should have gunned down the then politicians like Nehru, Menon etc and not the innocent people. If he was to do that today our Country Goa would have been only ours.

ReplyDeleteThere is no record to show why Goa was Invaded if there is it is falsified, the Indians and Freedom Fighters (free loaders) call it Liberation i call it invasion by force and atrocities. If they say we are liberated, then it is from our past peaceful law abiding and honest life and dumped us into a life of chaos.The least I can do is thank God for Dr Jack Sequeira he kept Goan identity intact.
ReplyDeleteSilvester as you say Dr Jack did save Goa from going into Ghanti Land, If we Goans are not vigilant Goan politicians who are greedy and corrupt will one day divide Goa for Karnataka and Maharashtra. Neither BJP or Congress is for Goans. Goa needs a third local party to reverse all decisions made by our governments in favor of neighboring states after the Indian Invasion.

Please Gentlemen accept the reality, today Goa is infected by virus called "Greed" currently there is no known cure available in Goan health care nor is it available in the form of ayurvedic medicine. Right now, as we write our comments on Niz Goenkar, I am sure that some Goan somewhere must be planing to sell his/her property to Indians while some Indian somewhere must be sniffing to see if he/she can manipulate a Goan and grab their land.
