GOAN FIESTA 2011 A GRAND KONKANI SHOW by Rajesh D’Mello, Muscat

Dear GCO Leadership Team,
My salutations to the organisers for providing such opportunities to revel in our unique culture. I would have loved to attend and see the galaxy of our goan singers and comedians perform particularly Lorna Cordeiro. However, I wish to voice that I strongly oppose the idea of putting on a pedestal as 'Guests of Honour' the very politicians who are responsible for the decay, loot and plunder of Goa and its unique indentity.
These are not 'Guests of honour' but guests who deserve to be dishonoured at such forums for their selfish agenda achieved much at the expense of the degradation & decay of the goan ethos, culture, identity and of the land. I humbly decline the invitation as a sign of protest against the presence of these political elements. Attending this function implies a tacit approval of the political establishment of Goa and all that they stand for.
Instead, I would humbly suggest that we use the 'Goans in Oman' Forum to organise such musical fiestas with the objective of bringing about a sense of awareness amongst our Goan brothers and sisters of what really is happening in Goa and how the political establishment have almost completed raping the state and making us Goans indentity-less in our own land. When some of our goan brother expats who have been working hard here for many years retire and go back to our land, there will be NO GOA or NO Goans left there. It is high time to WAKE UP and FIGHT for what is ours .
Deu Borem Korum ! Via Goem !
Rajesh D'Mello, Muscat,

  1. Thank you Rajesh...Same happening is Bahrain and also in UAE..Goans over here are become Tiem servers and think mediocre..I really felt hurt when couple of Goan aggresively planning to organize Easter dance over here when OUR GOA IS BURNING IN CORRUPTION and hearts of hearts I pity these folks for they are not intouch with reality back in Goa.

INSTEAD AT THIS PARTICULAR TIME ALL GOANS IN GCC SHOULD HAVE COME UNITED UNDER ONE BANNER to support anyone who is making an effort to move a CLEAN THIRD FRONT GOVERMENT.

I remember When I personally watched the horrific south east Tsunami nightmare in south east Asia and the next day I came to Goa only to see Goans feasting and celebrating and indulging in Merry making for celebrating Christmas with dances galore when the whole of India including the entire Asia was in greif and was with these nation..I coulf not beleive how Goans can behave so low in their feeling towards humanity....That say I knew about fellow Goan...and my pride is done..

  2. We all dream about settling in Goa after our retirement but all the dreams dont come true.If we do not do something to save our Goa from our greedy and ignorant politicians than our retirement will be in the GHANTTILAND., formerly known as GOA.
So the time is come for us to act and not to sleep at home awaiting somebody to act for us.

Seems like another bunch of disgraceful Goans inviting Criminals to grace their occasions.
These organisers are only interested in themselves.
By inviting Goan Government Criminals ,Theives, looters, rapists like Churchill & Kamat, they expect to benefit from rewards in Goa, to the detriment of others.
I hope the decent Goans in the Gulf Countries will make this known to these organisers.
The Parish Priest of the GCO too needs to be made aware of these criminals being invited by the GCO.
Below is their useless and out of date website

And here below are some of the "Crooked" & corrupt members.

GCO...please do not organise functions, where you invite known criminal,s in the name of "GOA " & GOANS".
I also hope Churchill & KAmat have given you a "GOAN BLOOD DONATION" In Oman & other rewards for you and you family members in Goa.

  4. Don Marquez, This is unfortunately is the state of today's Goans. They use the Goan identity to only party and entertain. Little do these ignorant party animals know that by the time all the partying is over there will be no Goa or no identity called Goan left. We all must voice our resentment loudly and do our bit to save whatevet is left of a land our fathers tilled. This is where we belong and always will. No matter hown many portuguese passports some of us make. Deu Borem Korum !
