PUBLIC LECTURE ON ROLE OF LOKAYUKTA IN GOOD GOVERNANCE by Ivo D’Souza, Dubai

No doubt India has made tremendous progress in space, sports, science, technology and education, but this graph has only been one sided and restricted only to a fraction out of the 1.2 billion citizens and unless all the other stakeholders and underprivileged too are alleviated to the same level and their more critical issues of poverty, unemployment, corruption, education and access to basic amenities, sanitation and effective healthcare addressed, the general perception is that India will be a completely failed state in the next decade or so.
The efforts of the International Centre in Goa to create public awareness on effective Lokayukta on 25th April 2011 is a positive step in this direction when the entire country and common man is severely affected by the laxity in good governance and fair polices. While there would be many who would like to lead and play a major role in an efficient and effective governance but some may not be able to attend especially those overseas. Hence in order to be effective and to achieve maximum participation and to motivate people, it will be appreciated if the organisers ensure that these lectures are fully transmitted and entirely covered by other sources like newspapers, You-tube and Facebook which are more popular among the new e-generation.
