MARGAO: PWD Minister Churchill Alemao on Friday said that he has told Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to give grants for English medium of instruction from the academic year. But according to Custodio a local of Comba Margao, Churchill is only play acting to make some money and then dupe the cause just as he dupped the Mopa Airport cause after getting enough money as bribe.
Custodio said “Churchill is one man that the Goans must never trust. He has fooled people all the time so we have to beware of this double intentioned man. It is a shame that some blind people of his constituency and Benaulim do not see through his decept”
“After consultations with Congress Ministers and MLAs, I have categorically told the Chief Minister that the government cannot deny grants to English as the medium of instruction when grants are made available for Kannada, Urdu, besides Marathi and Konkani”, Alemao asserted.
He said the Right to Education Act implies that parents are free to choose the medium of instruction of their choice, adding that people like Uday Bhembre and others cannot impose their views of the parents and children. “Uday Bhembre and others can advise their family members, but certainly, they cannot dictate terms to thousands of parents on education”, he said.
But according to most of the people Salcete, Alemao is only bluffing them to make some money as is his usual habit. Some also said that it is a trick to get sympathy from the people so that his daughter wins the election.
Referring to the stand of educationists on the medium row, Alemao said the educationists should restrict themselves with regard to the preparation of the syllabus and other aspects of education, while leaving the choice of the medium of instruction to the parents.
“Let me make it very clear, neither the government nor the educationists can dictate terms to the parents over their choice on the medium of instruction”, Alemao asserted, adding that the Congress MLAs and Ministers would officially call on the Chief Minister next week and convey their sentiments on the issue.
Reiterating that he would go all out with the parents to fulfill the demand for grants to English, Alemao exuded confidence that the Chief Minister would take a positive decision in favour of English as the medium of instruction.
Chorchill has sensed the mood of the people and therefore disturbed as he may not win the coming election. He is not doing these things with the love of English or Konkani. He educated his children at Sharada Mandir, Panjim where the medium is English. He is a GORNAL and I wonder what he knows about the medium of instruction.If you ask him on what ground he is supporting English ? He will say FATORDA GROUND.

This is a win-win situation for the parents and the non-political organisations those are fighting for the cause. Churchill is trying to reap the benefits by projecting himself as the Messiah of the masses by jumping inbetween like Mickey Pacheco. Both are looters of public coffers, both are equally the same when it comes to the destruction of Goa. One is immorally looting Goa and the other immorally raping Goa. Both these monkeys are int he Government run by another immoral of Margao Cowmuth and education manned by another illiterate immoral of Taleigao. Was this issue never heard or unknown to these political wolves? Why is a sudden change of heart now?

Educate your children in English if you want a share of the World. There is no other language other than English that is widely understood, spoken and used for business. Yes, I love Konkani at the depth of my heart but what has the government done to promote it? Only the "Tiatrists" are the one who, I would say are promoting it. Has the government done anything to encourage people to use Konkani other than just imposing it on our children? If the Government has got so much love for Konkani then why Marathi? There are thousands or would say a million Konkani speaking individuals in Maharashtra and Karnataka, why not fight for giving equal status for Konkani in those States?
Maintaining Culture and Heritage of Goa is one thing and growing political ambitions for self gains is another thing.
People of Goa, the real Goans should learn to vote wisely and throw out these scoundrels. I see people having their sight fixed on wolves in sheep's clothing - Chorchill and Ratol Mickey for this language issue. We should not forget that this is the issue of the parents and children together, we need our children to get the best and not political crumbs.
Next time VOTE WISELY, vote for lesser Evil.
@A-Z, today it is FATRADE GROUND. Fatrade is a small hamlet in Varca with vast paddy fields. This Chorchill has accquired poor farmers land to build another stadium, close to his heart or house whereas the Fatorda Stadium is rotting and need urgent repairs. Thans to Francisco Monte Cruz who built that stadium which the present government failed to maintain except their pockets.

His children will roam around in BMW cars and he and his"Dukor" will roam in a Rolls Royce car with the looted money.

Never ever trust this living JUDAS from Varca, in the past he has betrayed people of Goa on many front, be it Konkan Railway agitation so also anti-Mopa Airport. He and his family thinks, they have made great sacrifice during Konkani agitation, but let me make it clear it is not exclusive Alemao family rather all the Konkani lovers of Goa played important role together and in fact some of them laid down their lives. Till today he and his family take a pride and boast themselves about this cause. I remember, during anti-raliway agitation I was down in Goa and this guy led the huge morcha in Panjim and we marched upto to CM's house to submit memorandum at Altinho and at the end what happened?, this very same man betrayed us by surrendering to Delhi Congress party when he became CM just for 15 days and signing the Konkan Railway project to go ahead. This is his one betrayel. And second one is of Mopa Airport, he won election on anti-Mopa agitation but succumbed to this as well with the blessing of heavy PWD portfolio and load of cash may be from Marathi loby. Therefore my humble request to people of Navelim and Benaulim to be careful of this snake of two mouths and see that he and his family bite the dust in teh coming election.

ReplyDeleteChurchill betrayed Goan during konkani agitation by denying Roman script the rightfull place in the official language schedule.I was the witness in a meeting at Gomant Vidya Niketan soon after konkani Devnagiri was made official language of Goa where Chorchill(maha chor of Goa) prevent us from conducting further agitation in support of Roman script.He along with Mike Mehta,Prashant Naik,late Chandrakant Keni,Punadalik Naik told us to forget about Roman script and to accept only Devnagiri script.

There are rumours in Goa, that the marathi lobby is telling the villagers that the teachers cannot cope up with many languages, best is to drop English as it's too much for the kids and the teachers to cope. The same trick was used by traitor bandodukor to fool Goans, as at that time and today most of the Goan voting folks are not aware as to what is happening around. (It has nothing to do with education or illiteracy, but it's due to the fact that the real information or the hidden agenda of the Marathi lobby is very strong and they are very active)
