MORE FEES? ATTENTION PARENTS by Ramesh Naik

Sir,
I an ex student of MARINA English medium school – Verna – Goa.
It is a very sad thing to learn that the management of most unaided recognised English medium schools blind fold the parents and hike fees structure at frequent intervals, with an invalid excuse to pay the teachers. But in reality they fill their booties. One will be shocked to learn that teachers serving in such schools (also Marina –Verna) with 20 to 25 years experience are paid a paltry salary of Rs. 3000/- to 5000/- per month with out any benefits of Provident fund, Gratuity, or any other allowances. In turn they deprive the teachers of their legitimate right.
On inquiring to one of my teacher I was told all the principals (who are priests) over their tenures started giving them false assurances. They even brought this to the notice of the Bishop. But even his holiness Rev. Fr. Philip Nerry did not shown any interest in this matter. Another teacher said that she has even started loosing faith in priests and the religion. As they don’t practice what they preach.
Any concerned authorities who read this, Please feel free to further investigate on this issue by personally meeting the teachers of such schools.
It is high time that the parents should question the management as to how much they pay the teachers who strive hard to make our children better citizens of this country.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
(RAMESH NAIK)

  1. The managements of most unaided recognised English medium schools collect huge "donations" from parents to enroll their wards, while also charging high fees.
The government of Goa does not want to extend grant-in-aid to such schools because those in the government are shareholders of these huge "donations', so grants in aid will cut off their share and kill the goose that lays the golden eggs for them.

Well said Don -- this is the reality in Goa, I do not know when we will get up . If small favors done by these Idiot politicians we consider that as help. We fail to understand that this is our human right.
