HONOUR IN BEING CROWNED QUEEN AT THE HANDS OF THE PIMPS - GWA QATAR by Rupert Coutinho, Dubai

This article is regarding May Queen Ball 2011 in Qatar organised by Goan Welfare Association. When I was small I recollect the elders in the village inviting our local Parish Priests to grace important occasions of house inauguration and seek their blessings.
Politicians never had any special place as VIPs since all invited guests were equally treated with no distinction. It is sad and highly disgusting to note that this time some wise and over-enthusiastic cheerful Goans preferred to organise May Queen Ball 2011 in Qatar with special attention and invitations to well known Ex and present MLAs of high calibre. I would be very happy if they had to invite some good social activist and a man of honour/good repute/role model for people as Chief Guest who has contributed a lot to the Goan cause.
Sadly and interestingly Goans prefer the same people who have looted and plundered Goa and its wealth and these same people will be dining and dancing all the way, celebrating yet another event without any guilt or conscience. And there will many greedy and gullible Goan women who will be enticed with lovely prizes of Gold necklace, 5 Star hotel stays in Bangkok, free airline and what a pride it will be for them to be crowned as a ‘’Queen’’ at the hand of some of the most corrupt and greedy Goans who are more of a pimps selling our beautiful Goa to the migrants. This is what Goans will take pride in and the same ones will be heard prophesying how to save Goa in the days to come. But how can we Goans go on this way. Some one and all have to speak up. The reign of ignorance and hypocrisy should end. And we know deep down there is no other way. Goans its right time for you to see and judge who is a true Goan and who is not and for a better feeling see the details of the event. Voice your sentiments.
As for the organisers - Viva Qatar Goans. Keep it up and Well Done!! Keep Dancing, have a nice time with your families and and with your brothers in arms.

Its nice and refreshing to read the views of Rupert. He is one of the few ones who is nauseated by the moral and social filth in our goan society. Howevver hopes of seeing a turn around are bleak since the priest who would preach and practice in integrity in life are today as bad as some of the scoundrels mentioned by Rupert. The first ones to invite them as chief guest and wine and dine with them are the village priest.
I sometimes wonder, where have all our values gone. In just over two decades we have gone from being a proud race who would work hard to earn our bread to being shameless stooges leaking the ass of politicians.

    Hi Rupert;Good article.well done
There are Goans spread all around the world. Many of them also organise Community functions and celebrate their Parish Church Feasts. This is one of our much loved Goan Traditions, an long may it continue.
Many Goans I know around the world, including my friends and relations still retain their Goan heritage and Goaness.
What surprises me is that the Goan "Organisers" ( not ordinary folk),in the Gulf seem to think that they are a special breed.
I can assure you from my understanding, many of these Organisers are Bloody Crooks and theives and daylight robbers.
I have absolutely no objection to Goans Organising Functions or Community gatherings. What I despise, is that these guys do so, to mint money for themselves through false Accounting practices..
Many of these Orgasnisers are also Agents for the Politicians in Goa.They are the "Hawala" agents for these Corrupt Politicians.
I hope the Goans in the Gulf, insist that these organisations do not invite Corrupt Politicians from Goa to grace their Occassions.
These Organisers are either BLIND or cannot READ or are just plain illiterates, for they cannot understand the facts of Goa`s destruction.
They do not seem to have any concern for their families, relations,co -villagers and ordinary citizens in Goa.
They are purely self-glorifying idiots of the First order.
They must be seen as Immoral. and disgraceful.
If anyone has information on these Organisers, like Simon D`silva, oplease let us know.
We should do our best ,to stop them doing things in the name of Goa and Goans.

  7. We will never understand why the Goans in Gulf only find the looters of Goa to be the Chief Guests at the cost of the labourers and low salaried Goans in the Middle East. At the moment, it is learnt that another two looters are camping in Muscat, Oman called by self proclaimed prominent Goans. These Goans must be some greater crumb eaters who do not find a place in good society or they are not accepted by the real Goans as a part of their community. Only crumb eaters entertain these politicians in return for criminal favours.

I wish we knew where the trend started of inviting politicians at Goan functions. One can understand in Goa due to lack of finance in villages politicians are used to as financial kings. But in countries like the Gulf where finance is plentiful, instead of wasting money on Goan politicians, orphanages in Goa would benefit better.

Goan politicians are scum of the earth, those that invite them as chief guests are the wost scums. These politicians have destroyed and robbed Goa while Gulf Goans have glorified them.
