Come 28th April 22, 2011, the 11th Annual May Queen Ball 2011 organised by the Goan Welfare Association (GWA) will be held at the Ramada Plaza Doha Hotel from 8.30 pm onwards. The highlights of the event will be the crowning of May Queen by a number of Bollywood stars, among which includes Aditya Pancholi, the co-star in the controversial film Dum Maro Dum.
This is a sting in the tail by GWA, just at a time when the movie ‘Dum Maro Dum' have shown that they have no respect for Goa and its people. Don’t we have well known personalities in Goa who can be invited to grace occasions such as May Balls?
It looks like Goan associations in the Gulf have gone commercialized, to gain fame and glory for themselves.
It makes one sick to know that those who are offending Goans are being honored by fellow Goans. In Goa every NGO organization is fighting to ban the offending movie, while some Goans are making merry with the enemy. The weakness of Goans is being widely exposed by a few.

These bloody Goans, that left the shores of Goa ,as they could not get decent Jobs due to the ineptitude & corruptness of Goan Politicians, lack plain common sense.

Hello, can anyone help in solving my problem. I am Goan and was handed an dance appeal for MayQueen Ball dance at Diplomatic club, where i was asked to give a cheque in favour of an Individual, President,instead of the the Goan Welfare Association. Is it OK to give cheques in the anme of the association or in the name of the individual., since i do not want by money to go into the pockets of the the office bearers but for poor people in India., which they Goan welfare Association has announced in their appeal. Please help me.

Most of Our Goans brothers working abroad are dying for name and fame as they do not have any shame. Shameless Goans giving their arses to Ghantti Bollywood actors and chor Goan politicians.

Churchill,Monseratte and Mickky are known to charge huge sums of money to find these guys jobs in the Gulf.
This should not be the case.
On arriving in Qatar,and a few dirhams later,these guys think they are the "Bees Knees".They like to make themselves look important.
In the name of Goa and Goans,and often using a Church, they organise functions.However in many instances ,the money goes into their pockets through improper means.The accounts they publish are doctored and fabricated.
To demonstrate to their fellow Qatari Goans, how influential they are,both in Qatar & Goa, they invite the rogues like Churchill,Kamat,Faleiro,Monseratte to be their Cheif Guest.
It seems like, Goan Organisations in a few Gulf Countries are the only Goans that adore the Corrupt Goan Politicians.
Elsewhere in the World,These Corrupt Goan Ministers are despised and loathed.
If these organisers had any moral fibre, they would not consider inviting these Corrupt Ministers to grace their functions.
I have no doubt in my mind that these Goan Organisers are equally corrupt and crooked.
The Goans that go to these functions Only do so to Socialise.
However I hope they will someday advise the organisers to stop bringing in Corrupt Guests like Churchill etc, from Goa, to grace their occassions.
I fully agree with you N.Fernandes. I worked in Dubai for 9 years and I know how our Goans act. Whatever , you have written is cent percent correct.You must have well noticed that we Goans never remain united overseas . As for me ,I have never associated with the stupid people. The true Goans should never associate with the rogue politicians of Goa.
