VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Suchita Shirodkar on Thursday lodged a police complaint against Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza for allegedly grabbing municipal land for personal purpose. Will the Goa Police entertain the complaint against the minister?
However, the complaint copy is attached with only a resolution, while other relevant documents justifying that the land belongs to MMC, Survey No 73 bearing Chalta number 124 have not been attached to the complaint.
MMC has not submitted Form D and record from Directorate of Settlements and Land Records stating that the land has been transferred illegally in D’Souza’s name.
A resolution copy of Wednesday’s emergency meeting along with the complaint has been submitted to the Vasco police inspector. The copy has also been marked to the governor with a request to initiate appropriate action.
“We have accepted complaint from Shirodkar. We will verify the facts in the compliant and register the complaint if the complaint is authentic,” said the Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Gaonkar. It appears from the say of Mahesh Gaonkar that the complaint is just accepted and would bear no fruit. Looks like Mahesh Gaonkar is all set to collect a hefty booty from the minister.
