PANJIM: Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sought dismissal of Mr Atanasio Monserrate, the Education Minister, from the state cabinet, the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat on Saturday said that he could not take action against any of his cabinet colleague in a hurry merely because somebody was demanding it.
It is widely rumoured and is a talk of the town that the chief minister of Goa is hand in hand with Monserrate for all illegal hoardings of money and as such he is trying his level best to save Monserrate at any cost. There was a secret meeting at Kamat’s residence on how to save Monserrate, and the lead was being given by Digambar Kamat himself.
Mr Kamat told this reporter that he was yet to get first hand information from any official sources about the detention of Mr Monserrate by any agency. "We can’t take action based on someone’s demand," he said adding that he would have to follow proper procedure before taking any action.
The Chief Minister also said that Mr Monserrate had informed him and the Speaker, Mr Pratapsing Rane, about his scheduled personal visit abroad. He further said that unless he knew the fact he would not be in a position to offer any comment on the issue.
"I will ascertain the facts about the matter first before offering my comments," he said adding that he has not been able to contact Mr Monserrate till late in the evening on Saturday. He also said that there has been no official communication about the detention of Mr Monserrate.
Meanwhile, sources in the government said that Mr Monserrate was released from his detention by central agencies after questioning him thoroughly and that he was likely to return to the state by Sunday. The sources further said that some of his trusted lieutenants rushed to Mumbai to stand by their beleaguered leader, if need be. However, his passport and seized cash have been impounded by the customs.
The sources, who did not want to be identified, also revealed that the amount found in possession of the Education Minister was much below of what was made out to be but surely above the permissible limits. All the attempts to reach out to Mr Monserrate failed as his mobile phone was not "reachable". Besides, senior state and customs officials were not available for comments despite repeated tries.
Birds of the same feathers flock together, Monserrate committed a crime against the country which is punishable with at least six years in Jail. Yet the Goan CM is backing him so was Manserrate a mule to carry the CMs money?

Presenting the three wise MENkeys: According to newspapers, Chief Minister Kamat has said he has not seen enough evidence of wrong doing on the part of Monserrate and does not want to jump to conclusions - I SEE NO EVIL.
ReplyDeleteThe Pradesh Congress President said he is not aware of anything and cannot comment unless he knows what exactly happened - I HEAR NO EVIL.
The accused Babush Monserrate says he is clean. What is written in the Constitution and in the Statutes is for the learned, not for Std VIII fail students. He has done no wrong - I DO NO EVIL.
There is one more thief from Varca. When he will be caught? He might find some other route to travel Dubai or London. No one knows where these 40 thieves’ go and when they go with the suitcase of money, only Goa's Topiwala CM and Speaker knows.
ReplyDeleteDigamber defends his Colleague and needs more information to take the next step. Just wondering what the next step will be?
ReplyDeleteThe Customs deplaned him, he was interogated for hours at length,he was found with a stagerring amount of local and foreign currency way beyond permisable limits, his passport impounded, his bootyconfiscated...
Not sure what more Digu Bai is waiting for? Time will now tell.
After reading what CM Kamat said in defence of Moster Rat, it looks Moster Rat was carrying CM's money also in order to transfer/deposit in the Swiss banks which are famous for depositing all ill-gotten money. There may be even more Chors' money he was carrying as it is too much of the money on one person. another thing comes to my mind and it is Moster Rat may be only a carrier of CM's money and CM may be equally worried that Monster rat may confess and sell off his CM. Otherwise why CM has to protect him that much even he being caught and labeled as anti-National? Thorough investigation only might help detect who are the other Chors here on whose behalf he was carrying so much of money.
ReplyDeleteOur cm , the toad of margao is a son of a gun, a first class liar. The Goans should get rid of this wild vermin before he damage Goa. This ghanti will stick to his chair even if he has to give his wife or daughter to any one. This toad can't see any fault in varca' s PIG, ponda's motorcycle pilot, sattari's RANN DUKOR, andTaleigao's PIMP. The toad knows ,if he interfere with them , then he'll loose his KODEL.
ReplyDeleteIf we want to save our environment to breathe clean air let us get rid of motor vehicles and bring back bullock carts, except in stead of bullocks have the corrupt died to the carts. they deserve the end of the whip for destroying Goa.
ReplyDeleteWhat else will Cowmuth do? Birds of the same feather flock together. Next time, it will be Cowmuth and the Monster Rat will support him. The story keeps on repeating.
