SUSPENDED FOR COMPROMISING STATE SECURITY POLICE INSPECTOR NELSON ALBUQUERQUE REINSTATED

PANJIM: Police inspector Nelson Albuquerque, who was suspended for compromising security at Goa's border check post during a terror alert in 2008, has been reinstated in service.  Home minister Ravi Naik told the state legislative assembly on Thursday that departmental proceedings against Albuquerque have been dropped.
Portugal-based Goan artistes to visit Goa: 'Ekvott', a group of Goan artistes based in Portugal, will visit India in June and perform in association with the Indian Centre for Cultural relations. Comprising musicians, singers and dancers, the 20-member group will also perform in Panaji on June 3 and at Margao on June 4. Ekvott will also perform at Bangalore on June 7, Mumbai on June 9 and Delhi on June 11. Ekvott is coming to India on the invitation of the office of the Commissioner for NRI Affairs, Eduardo Faleiro.
