SCREENING OF DUM MARO DUM WILL BE OPPOSED IN VASCO THEATRES

VASCO: The members of fishing community from Khariawaddo in the port town of Vasco under the banner of Khariawaddo Affected People (KAP) has resolved to oppose the screening of ‘Dum Maro Dum’ in the theatres in Vasco.
The decision to oppose the screening of ‘Dum Maro Dum’ (DMD) was taken during the public meeting by the Khariawaddo Affected People, which was being attended by a large number of members of fishing community, near Old Cross at Khariawaddo, on Saturday evening.
The resolution was moved by the social activist, Fr Bismarque Dias.  The social activist, Fr Dias explained to the people as to how the Rohan Sippy’s movie ‘Dum Maro Dum’ has badly portrayed the Goan women in the film.
"‘Dum Maro Dum’ is a potboiler of sex and drugs", he said and further added that the women in Goa have been badly portrayed, thereby creating a wrong impression about them.  "We, the fishermen community will not bear the wrong projection of Goa and the women in the state", said Fr Dias and called upon the people to oppose the screening of the movie.
He also called upon the fishermen to come out on the streets if the movie is screened in Vasco theatres. The fishermen have also decided to take law into their hands, if the movie is not banned.

  1. The people of vasco need not to come on the street if the controversial film DMD sreen in vasco. The people of vasco are bold enough to set the theatres on fire. If the theatre have no respect for Goan women than we dont have respect to the theatre owner.

  2. Goans all over Goa should follow the example, and if need be village justice for those watching the Movie and Goan politicians. We have been patient for too long. Goan is too welcoming for Hindi Movie Directors and Actors, specially the Goan politicans and businessmen who invite them for birthdays and other parties.

  4. Dum Maro Dum is live and happening in Goa every day. The actors and direcotrs are moving freely in public with police licking their shoes. Is not the drug menance in Goa managed by the sons of the politicians is not Dum maro Dum? Is not Chandrakant Salgaokar, the architect of the Dum Maro Dum? Why are people not protesting against this live Dum Maro Dum? I am not patronising the film but trying to make a point that Dum Maro Dum is alive in Goa every day.
