MARGAO: The stage is set for a rally cum public meeting in the Commercial Capital on Friday evening in support of the demand for the revocation of suspension of Judge Desmond D’Costa. President of the South Goa Advocates Association, Anacleto Viegas said the rally will start from the District and Sessions Court at around 3.30 pm followed by a public meeting at the historic Lohia Maidan.
While demanding revocation of the suspension of Judge D’Costa, the Association has further prayed that the High Court not to accept the report of the inquiry officer appointed to conduct the inquiry against Judge Anuja Prabhudesai.
“The Association has asked the Chief Justice of India, Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, besides the President of India to complete the inquiry, if any, against Judge D’Costa within a period of 15 days,” Adv Viegas said.
He reiterated the demand for an inquiry against South Goa Sessions Judge Utkarsh V Bakre for allegedly filing a report against Judge D’Costa and for allegedly misleading the bar on the issue.
