POLICE MAKE BREAKTHROUGH OF MERCES MURDER: MIGRANT FROM CHIMBEL ARRESTED

OLD GOA: Having arrested a 21-year-old resident of Indra Nagar-Chimbel, the Old Goa Police seems to have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Amitabh Borkar, who was found murdered at an isolated place in Merces on February 2.
Old Goa Police has arrested Hyder Ali Badekar an obvious migrant in connection with the murder case of Borkar (19) of Kirlawada-Chimbel.
According to Old Goa PI Francis Corte, Hyder was arrested by the Old Goa Police late Saturday night from his residence, after Old Goa Police came to a conclusion that Hyder was the last person who had taken Borkar along with him before committing the murder.
“Hyder has confessed to committing the crime and the reason behind committing the murder was previous enemity between him and Borkar, where the deceased had earlier slapped Hyder at Panjim bus stand over an issue. Hyder was waiting to take revenge of it,” informed PI Corte.
Over 50 people, who included family members, relatives and friends of Borkar were interrogated and even Hyder was questioned twice over the matter. During the course of investigation, the Old Goa Police had detained a 19-year-old boy from Chimbel on suspicion.
Hyder has been remanded for 14 days police custody for further investigation. Incidentally, according to the police, Hyder is the brother of Asif Ali Badekar (Badekar?), who is one of the co-accused in the attack case on Adv Aires Rodrigues.

  1. Strange as it may sound, without any clue or witness the police could gain a break through in this Merces murder case. It baffles me now with a question ,as to why after all the evidence, witness that has come forward and been submitted, why the case of Cipriano cannot be closed and the named culprits be sentenced? I hope my concern makes sense to the readers, unless i am not thinking rationally.

  2. You are making sense. Cipraino's case will be languishing for a long time and believe me all will walk free. That is the way the judicial system works in Goa because it is piggy backed on the Indian Corrupt system.

I was talking to my friend today who has is a resident of Chimbel. The frightening account he has given me of the place ran shivers down my spine. It feels like being in the slums of Bombay. Our politicians must be blamed for have creating Vote Banks with these migrants all over Goa. We need to make a desperate change to our political system or else Goa will be infested with these and more criminals from outer states. We need to be brave preserve the future of Goa.

Being in Panjim and driving through Chimbel I feel I am somewhere in the slums of Delhi or Bombay. It is literally a no go area with women during the evenings. We cannot sit back and watch our beautiful Goa being ruined by these Ghantis and the corrupt and ministers, this is the price Goa pays for electing illiterate persons to power. We cannot be called prejudice for driving the criminal non-Goans out of Goa.

Are we Goans following the phrase Silence is Golden if so I see Golden Goa melting rapidly aided by our pig headed politicians. They say miracles do happen but in this case the miracles lies in the hands of every true Goan, Lit us unite and get new honest and ruthless faces in the government to restore the beauty of Goa and rid of the vote bank slums.

Goans are very good at drinking and fighting each other rather than being united and fighting the corrupt Government. The Ministers have studied the weakness of the Goan and are selling pieces of Goa to the Rich Ghantis. Sit on the backsides and do nothing or get up and fight for Goa's survival
