PROTEST RALLY AT AZAD MOIDAN BY GRA ON 15TH MARCH

PANJIM: Goemchea RakOndarancho Awaz (GRA) or the ‘Voice of the Protectors of Goa’, a newly formed group of various NGOs from around the state will hold a protest rally at the Azad Moidan in the city, on March 15, to demand "change in government’s anti-people policies and clamp down on rampant corruption in the government administration as subscribed and promoted by politicians.’’
Addressing a press conference in the city, on Saturday, in the presence of the representatives of around 35 NGOs from various Goan villages, Mr Yatish Naik said that the GRA is a people’s initiative and has neither a president nor a convenor.
"Till date different forums have been taking up diverse issues concerning the protection of Goa and its identity, and we felt that they should come under one banner like GRA so as to undertake unified fight against these issues," he added.
Maintaining that the main agenda of the GRA is Goa, Goans and Goanness, Mr Naik said that the newly formed umbrella organisation will demand that a resolution be passed in the state legislative assembly for granting of a special status for Goa by the Centre, which will not focus on only financial benefits but also protect the land and culture of Goans.
He also mentioned that passing of Lokayukta Bill with sufficient opportunity for the public to examine and to make suggestions to it, prior to its being passed into law would be another demand of the GRA.
The March 15 public rally culminating into a meeting will also highlight issues like police-politician-drug mafia nexus, the motivated change made to the Regional Plan 2021 not suggested by the public, illegal mining with ore transportation woes faced by people, land acquisition for Mopa Airport and attempts by the Indian Navy to acquire more and more land in Goa, garbage menace, environmental degradation, mega projects and so on.
The Forum did not shy away from its political ambitions, and said that it could contest elections in the future, if people are willing to support the endeavour.
The groups, which are the members of the GRA include Utt Goenkara, Goenchea Xetkarancho Ekvott, Candolim Citizens’ Forum, Village Groups of Goa, Colva Citizens’ and Consumers’ Forum, and Mopa Vimantal Pidit Shetkari Samiti, besides others.

  1. Well done, atlast we can see the light through the other end of the tunnel. I personally thank Yatish Naik and the NGOs for coming together to save our motherland from the clutches of our greedy and shameless politicians ,especially the filthy pig of varca and toad Digandu of Margao. If I were in Goa I would have definately attended the meeting as I have always taken part in protest rallys.
We can atleast save the leftover of our motherland as most is vandalised by our corrupt congress government. I request each and every true Goans to take part in the rally and show your soladarity to GRA.
It is high time to Goans to vote wisely and throw out congress and BJP out from Goa for good, and send these 40 donkeys in the bondla zoo. Chorchill, Digamber, Ravi, Babush and Ranes should be hanged as these are the main culprits to bring destruction on Goa and Goans.
Scrap mining, punish the police, and axe Mopa and NH widening if it affects any houses, we Goans don't want to axe our houses for Mopa airport or NH widening. Nobody is going to get any benefit as thieves like Chorchill and Digandu Kamat will get crore of commission from the contractors.

  2. To all my Beloved Goans:

All the time I was talking about this meeting and I have met Adv. Yatish Naik and Mr. Bismarque Dias of Goenchea Xetkarancho Ekvott & also lot of NGO's when I was in Goa. So this is what I was talking about and do not be surprise we might form Goemchea RakOndarancho Awaz (GRA) as a party. One of my friend is also in contact with them and hope he makes for the big meeting. As I am out of Goa and if I am in Goa at that time then I will definetly be there. Goans I appeal to you if you like to help please meet the organiser and help them ( Ful na zalear Pakli diat) as there are financial cost for that meeting.

Now some of the guys will belive me what I was talking and what I was doing 4-5 months in Goa, even I commented on Menino's article about funds of this meeting. Now this is the time that the fire will start and no one will control, even the money of the politicians will not work. Even the goondas will not have guts to touch the Goans who will be on the streets. Remember Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, etc. this is the start for Goa, do not let it down the fire is starting and its duty of every Goan to help them. In those group there are able and good leaders who can lead us, it not be P. Cruz or someone else, it can be you, he, she, we or me what we have to do is to believe in ourself what we are doing and rest leave it in the hands of God. This meeting will write the chapter of Goa's 2nd liberation from the corrupt politicians. And these group will fight for Special status for Goa and other various issues.
@ Dear Yatish, Bismarque, Abhijeet, Peter, Kambli, etc as I cannot take all the names of you : Today I am happy that this has come and I have already sent a mail to Bismarque just 1 hour before the news. Goans require a party and I will be there to support you and carry the cross for the cause of Goa. Not me only most of the NRI's are supporting this idea and our movemnet outside Goa is in full swing. We are not scared of anyone now as we are ready to come on the road. You will recieve our financial support also, as what you guys are doing is great for us. Now I want to see how the goans will help GRA or they will just talk on the forum with their comments.

Today I will sing this song and sleep very well

  3. Dear Trevor : The struggle will start on 15th March at Azad Maidan in the big meeting and no looking back after that. Then we might form a political party, I was there 4-5 months in Goa and met most of the NGO's leaders and some workers. I was having lot of meetings, raids, etc. with them and also gave them idea of the party to everyone to come on a single platform. Only they require the peoples support, the contacts are going on and all NRI's are in full swing. I have a big scare that now the dirty politicians will start their dirty trick to break us down. I promise to you your dreams are near!

In Dubai, Kuwait, Switzerland, USA, Caymon Island, parts of Africa, on Cruiser liners, ship, etc. the work is going on, even the priest are working for this big meeting. But unfortunatley I am in Africa working here, but I and my friends in Dubai who are helping this meeting are in constant touch.

  4. The winds of change are blowing and I hope they gain momentum and blow harder every passing day. It makes me proud to see that people are beginning to realize and want a change from all the ill doings of our system. May through this forum/rallies, our people get a kick start to fight for a better Goa, a Goa that will be free of corruption,a Goa that will have leaders of caliber, leaders that will look after the interest of its people and not their personal interest.
I hope people will realize that the gifts that they get from these so called sugar daddy's only satisfy them temporarily and not permanently.
Good luck to all those fighting for a cause, a cause for a better, transparent Goa.

Goans although this meet is on a weekday do not hesitate go in large numbers, only a mass movement can bring this corrupt government to it's knees, if we get our priorities right we will surely have a change, on 15th March all roads should lead to Panjim. All the best guys

I sincerly Mickky Pacheco wil not be invited to this meeting as he was, at the Goa Chronicle meeting.
Having Mickky Pacheco would be a minor disaster.I say minor as there is no doubt as Goans unite they will soon show him the door to the outside.
Mickky has had many chances, buthe has proved to be more of a thug and criminal.
He is currently in the Political wilderness and will no doubt attempt to jump on the nearest Political Bandwagon for salvation.
Mickkys flaw (among many otherss he has) , is that he can only be useful if he is a Minister. without a Ministerial portfolio, he is unable to impose his dadagiri. He has imposed his dadagiri and thuggery at every opportunity available.
The man has a large ego. However with his failure to be re-inducted into the Cabinet.some of it has been nipped in the bud.
Any sponsorship from Mickky should be vhemently refused as this is none other than black and blood money.
I appreciate he has done some good for Betalbatim, which is his backyard. But the rest of Goa and specially the educated and morally conscientious,do not view him kindly. He is too tainted to be embraced as a new Goan Party Member. If he wishes to sponsor the New Party, he should not demand a previledged position / post and and funding should be made through a 3rd person (not him directly). However I cannot see him agreeing to any funding as he likes name emblazoned all over the Newspapers and Goa.This flattery which he enjoys, keeps him omn a pedestal.

  7. The only way we can save what is left of our beautiful motherland is by uniting and coming together like this. Maybe even agitate for Governor's rule till the next elections. And then field our own honest, uncorrupt candidates. WE WILL OVERCOME!
