DISGUSTED by Roque Manuel Coutinho, Quepem

Sir,
I am not only disappointed but disgusted with not only the politicians ( Luizinho Faleiro, Francis Sardinha, Churchill Alemao and Prakash Velip to name a few who have either been my comrades in Lar de Estudantes or I have assisted) and the reporter Sanvodar of Goa 365 from Sanvordem, To start with the politicians I always backed this lot during the elections with the notion that they would do some good for the Goans but looking at the plight of the Goans today including myself it is pathetic.
They have done nothing for the Goans but filled their coffers and that of their cronies. The Goan youth have to go on the ship or abroad to earn a decent living and the void is filled by people from other states because the standard of living is better than in their states and so is the income. Goans have a high standard of living and do not live on Dal and Rice. The Portuguese gave us a good life and people were content as far as the standard of living and facilities but because of a few disgruntled people and the take over of the Indian Government see where we are. India was not ready for Independence quote Winston Churchill who told Lord Mountbatten that he was giving the country into the hand of rouges and thieves. How true he was because no sooner did he give Independence the country was divided for power and today India is run by rogues and thieves who have made sure that people remain uneducated and are divided. There are MP's and other politicians who are criminals and some are in jails and they are still MP's etc. They have abused Democracy but are still in governance. Our Goan politicians have made a mockery and taken us
Goans for granted. I think it is high time that those Goans who really love Goa and do not want it to be destroyed get rid of all the politicians who are and were in government and have new faces in the government. Wake up Loyal Goans and SAVE Goa before it is too late like the Arab nations who are fed up of corrupt politicians and don’t let them sell and turn Goa into a concrete jungle instead of a paradise Island it once was. I am willing to stand up to save Goa if honest Goans are willing United we Stand Divided We fall - Roque

Roque Manuel Coutinho; you are absolutely correct in your article; I too supported and worked for first couple of them mentioned. Today I kick myself with regret for what I had done, these mainly politicians of the south could have done wonders for Goa. But instead lend their support where money was flowing like rivers of honey. Regrets we have but can we Goans Unite and fight for our rights, how can we convenience the crumb eaters ? As you stated United we Stand Divided We Fall.

  2. Well done Mr Countinho, you show yourself to be a Niz Goenkar. We have to educate the crumb eaters and send all the present politicians in hibernation. The True blooded Goans should come forward and stand up to save Goa like Mr Countinho. If we don't act now then it will be never. Please take the example of the Arab world and change the political scenario of our Golden Goa. VIVA GOENKARS.

  3. Roque Goans can see the destruction around them, their future is fading away. Goa was once the pearl of the east be it from any religion we had a united front. Corruption and crime has taken over mainly supported by politicians, there are many who depend on politicians handing out their daily bread.Others selling their lands to the highest Non-Goan bidders. It mainly because of these elements Unity will be a very difficult task to maintain, but try we must. I pray Goans will take your call to unite for the better of Goa.

  4. Salvador it is true Goa and Goans being a unique breed in the world, you would have expected our politicians to have maintain that status. But instead they have knitted us with the corrupt way of the Indian life while sat and watched them Goa being destroyed. Yes the damage has been done and the beneficiaries are the corrupt and criminal politicians. All is not lost we can save what is left by being united in one equal strength. We either unite and fight or we sit and do nothing going to our graves as losers.

  5. Nice blog Mr.Roque Manuel. Yes, looking at what Egypt has done and now what Libya is doing, goans should open their eyes. Its never too late. Atleast we could see light at the end of the tunnel.

  6. Guys ! We are a very tolerant lot. The people of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya are fighting for something identical to what we have been subjugated to for a long time. We are also very used to this subjugation and have accepted it as a part of our life. Further their populations are far smaller and not even comparable to ours. Do we have the guts and a lion's heart to come out on the streets and fight like them against the oppression of our satanic politicians. The answer is NO. In another blog I have read that there were very few supportes for the rally held for 'Cypriano's 'cause. Likewise there were only 300 supportes during the last rally by the GBA for the Regional plan . This is the bitter truth about us Goans, my dear friends. We are very comfortable in our homes and couches, sipping our evening feni and having our fish curry rice unconcerned about what is happening to our land and our identity. This attitude is not going to get us anywhere. What is needed is a change of heart and attitude. At the end of the day we get the government that we vote for and the one that we allow to rule us - in other words WE GET THE GOVERNMENT WE DESERVE.

Let us unite and make aware to rogues rascal local Politicians as well as to Delhi that we are hunting for our right and that is Independence from India. Unless and until we make some noise India will take full advantage to impose it's remaining dectate on Goans. Let's give a fight unitedly and peacefully like Arab Countries, if these people can fight with their respective Dictators then definately we Goan's can fight with so called bullshit Indian democracy and let them know that our demand is unique and Goa has full option and advantge before UN and Supreme Court of India that it wasn't liberation but rather Conquest. Spread the news of Niz-Goenkar among the masses of Goa which ever way possible and let make our dream come true.

    HOUSELESS OR HOMELESS
Is it houseless or homeless, There is no such thing as houseless if I don’t have a house is the Government of Goa going to build me a house? anyway Who are these homeless? It is our politicians who have imported poor people from Karnataka for votes called them migrants and illegally gave them ration cards and voters id cards. The main culprit is Naik from Margao who is responsible for the slums near Rajendra Prasad Stadium Margao. A good example of this fraud is what happened to me. I kept a poor Karnataka family to look after my old house in Quepem and went to Mumbai since I could not get a decent job in the Hotel Industry in Goa inspite of having the required experience ( in fact more than that was required and the Five Star Hotels then employed non goans in top management positions ). After working for a couple of years I deceided enough was enough and returned to Goa in time for the Municipal elections and deceided to stand for the same because I am very popular in my ward for my honesty and readiness to help the needy. I put in my nomination but it was rejected on the basis that my name was not on the electoral rolls. I was astonished as I had a computerised electoral identity card with my photo on it which was taken in the Mamlatdar's office. I checked the electoral rolls and was surprised to see the name of the man who I kept in my house, his wife and children's name on the rolls instead of my name. I brought this to the notice of the Mamlatdar who told me he would have accepted my nomination even if there was a spelling mistake as he knew I was sure to win the election in my ward. When I told him I would file a suit on the basis I had a Photo identity card issued by his office his reply was they would say it was a forged card. During my investigations it came to light that it was a good friend of mine in that office (who presumed that I would not stand nor vote in that election) responsible for deleting my name from the computerised rolls who I forgave and let the issue go. Let me warn Digamber Kamat, Churchill Alemao, Manohar Parrikar please do not take Goans for granted you are all from the same breed corrupt and rapist. How many trucks and mines do you guys own You are like Gaddaffi, Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarakh who claim they have no wealth and are for the people and have done a lot for the people. Now if you do not consider the Goans working on the ship and abroad in the census we loyal Goans will not keep quite. Dyanand Bandokar and Jack Sequeira although not on the same side loved Goa and did not destroy Goa like you are doing with the help of these corrupt Indian political parties may they be Congress or BJP. You can fool some people some time but you can’t fool all the people all the time. I appeal to all like minded Goan Youth Stand up for Your Right and not the peanuts that the politicians throw at you.

Goans identity is been stolen by these non-Goans, a two year child's name Peter Dias is given to a 45 year old man from Hubli, not a laughing matter as its true. There are many more cases that we are not aware there could be a loan taken in your name and your property could be taken by the lender, what will you do about it. Let us not keep our fight before its too late, we should stand up and fight NOW before we become victims of our own silence. WE cannot rely on our current corrupt politicians as they themselves will be those lenders that will take all that you own. We need to bring our pride back to Goa and Goans. We either sink or swim. United we stand lert us not think of being divided.
