Herald - Goa
Sir,
Since Sanjay Gupta has appeared on Herald’s radar, my articles have ceased to appear on Herald, I am not sure if it’s just a coincidence. I don’t mind my articles not being printed but I would hate to see a good strong daily like Herald become a puppet in the hands of the miners, mega builders and corrupt politicians and their cronies like Sanjay Gupta.
Thanking you
Yours truly
Freddy Agnelo Fernandes
Freddy, yes you are right, even my few letters to editor failed to appear on certain time and was assuming could have failed to deliver to Herald mail box and in fact sent it again and never appeared. If this bias attitude of Herald continues then it would be another media disaster on Goa. I hope pro-Goan and respected newspaper Herald would not become pro-outsider as you said.
ReplyDeleteBut who is this Sanjay Gupta and his role with Herald?.
Sanjay Gupta is the pawn of Dempo and Timblo the mining barons of Goa, he is the one who filed the deformation case against Seby Rodrigues the mining activist, in a court in far off Kolkata. He is an outsider feathering his nest at the cost of Goans. He use to write a lot on Navhind earlier always pro government, now you see his patriotic articles on Herald every weekend, it’s just to fool Goans. Now there are strong rumors that Timblo is buying Herald and his tool, Sanjay Gupta is already the Editor of the weekend issue of Herald, Navhind has always been pro government as well as pro mining and now Herald also will follow. Do we have any option other than boycott Herald if Timblo and his cronies are pulling the strings there ?
ReplyDeleteFreddy Agnelo Fernandes
Freddy It is a shame Goa does not have a decent news paper for the suffering and cause of Goans. What we have is puppet editors that play to the tune of corrupt politicians, rich Mining and mega housing projects magnets. It also takes Non-Goans to dictate Goan affairs. The reason is because Goans do not have unity among themselves.
ReplyDeleteHerald has always been a puppet, rather than a muppet. Come join Niz Goenkar, a team that is true and full of guts that fights for the cause of Goa. Herald is just a load of black and white rubbish.
ReplyDeleteIt is not "Sanjay"! He is "SUJAY GUPTA". He is a Bengali, a pimp of Timblo mines, who filed some Rs.5 crore civil suit against an anti-mine activist Sebastian from Goa, in west Bengal High Court.
ReplyDeleteHerald has not been pro Goa/Goan newspaper for quite some years now. My letters too were edited in such a way to deliberately sabotage my English and also the contents. All this started as soon as the migrant Aswin Tombat was made the editor.
If things do not improve, just dont buy herald newspaper, tell friends & relatives to do so (together we can do that) that should force them to take us seriously. Its not fair these ghantti's dictating to us.
ReplyDeleteThat's the next step, if the paper does not support the cause of the people why do we need to buy it or even read it ? A very simple but effective solution, Goa loving Goans should boycott Herald !
ReplyDeleteI have made a start by cancelling the paper delivery to my home. Lets show them peoples power. Last heard my neighbour and my cousins too have called in the agency delivering the paper and cancelled it. Go Goa Go, let us show our unity by starting with the corrupt news paper.
ReplyDeleteThe O Heraldo newspaper is designed to serve the Politicians and not the News Reader or general public.
ReplyDeleteWrite some pretty and nice things about the Politicians and you can be guaranteed, it will be published.Write something bold truthful and honest about a Politician and you can rest assured you letter to the Editor will end up in the dustbin....or to warp up fish and Bhajias.
The Editor of O`Heraldo must be gettibg a "loving kiss" from the Politicians each time he publishes something nice about them !!.
Good start John, I hope more will follow
ReplyDeleteIn UK for many years The Sun Newspaper was considered to be a racist paper and yet it was the colored people that bought the paper, the attraction was page three has a topless model on page three. What attraction does the O' Herald have that it still attracts a sale? It sounds mare a pro-politically pressured daily paper in a democratic country.
ReplyDeleteJohn. well done. I will implement the same and tell my neighbours too. Frankly, who needs herald, when we have niz goenkar website. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteBoycott Herald and I appeal to Nizgoenkar to start a weekly in Goa and also put everyones comments. We want our own paper and we want our views to be highlighted. One more time I appeal to all Niz Goenkars to come and start a newspaper in Goa.
ReplyDeleteBoycott all papers that are not suporting Goans, let all ghantis buy the paperes.
