PANJIM: In a petition filed by Mormugao Port Trust, the high court of Bombay at Goa directed the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) to submit a report by next week regarding the status of the appeals filed against the show cause notices issued to illegal structures at Khariawada in Vasco.
The court has directed the MMC to give details of how many appeals had been disposed of, pending or whether stay orders have been granted by the directorate of municipal administration. This petition will come up for hearing on February 28.
This is the plight of niz goans they are being drived away and their homes destroyed for monetary benefits from MPT. and there are the outsiders who are raising hugh colonies and helping the Babas to stay in power read on Herald ' The baba of Moti Dongor dt 13.02.2011
ReplyDeleteIn their own land Goans are treated as aliens.The origins of Khariwada are on a verge of becoming vagabonds.This are the same people who accorded warm farewell to Portuguese ship(SAGRES). My friend resides in this locality. His parents hurt existed in Khariwada during Portuguese period. As they were not literates,their hurt turned into a house was not recorded on survey conducted under Indian Government but other NON GOANS houses constructed illegally all over GOA has been recorded.Since Portuguese they carried their Fishing business. At that time they needed a Licence from CAPTAIN OF PORTS to venture into the sea.They have that Licence till date. During that period MPT did not exist but Everything was controlled by CAPTAIN OF PORTS.
ReplyDeleteMPT took it over only after INDIA took it over. Same house has been served with notice to leave by the Muncipality because of MPT. If they vacate this house,they will be on Roads without their livelihood.More than 500 Goans meet their end because of this location and Fishing activities. There is also large amount of Lamanis and other Non Goans habitat-ed in this area because of this. How can INDIAN GOVERNMENT JUSTIFY THIS act. MPT is making profit on the bredcrumbs of this GOAN ORIGINS BY DESTRUCTING THEIR RIGHT T LIVE .THIS IS IN HUMANE,IT IS AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS.CAN THIS BE ALLOWED? As a Goan its everyone's duty to support this people.PLEASE TAKE UP THEIR CAUSE AND HELP THEM TO SURVIVE.
