PANJIM: With the two Goa NCP ministers—revenue minister Jose Philip D'Souza and tourism minister Nilkanth Halarnkar— refusing to resign from the cabinet despite directions from their party high command, in order to accommodate Mickky Pacheco into the Congress-led coalition government, the NCP high command is contemplating action against them, party sources said.
A NCP leader said that the party high command has taken serious note that there is no response from the two ministers to their directives. "The resignations were mainly being sought as a surety pending inquiry into reports about the two NCP ministers attending a meeting with Congress leaders to strategise future course of action. If there is nothing against the two vis-a-vis Congress leaders, they would face no action. However, the two didn't act on the directions given through the Goa NCP coordinator," a party leader said. Asked whether they have submitted their papers to the high command, D'Souza said, "We have not received any communication asking us to resign from the cabinet, from our high command." (TNN)
Why should just two ministers resign? In fact the NCP should be disbanded from Goa it has brought nothing but misery to the lives of Goan citizens, with its introduction of crime and corruption
