GOA GOVERNOR GIFTED A COPY OF RTI ACT ON CHRISTMAS EVE

PANJIM: On Christmas Eve, Adv. Aires Rodrigues sent the Goa Governor Dr. S.S.Sidhu a copy of the Right to Information Act 2005.
The notice issued to the Governor of Goa by the Goa State Information Commission was also received by Goa Raj Bhavan today. The Goa State Information Commission has directed Goa Governor Dr. S.S. Sidhu to personally appear before the commission on 4th January 2011 at 10.30 am in connection with the complaint filed against him by Adv. Aires Rodrigues for non- complying with the Right to Information Act.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today expressed hope that in the New Year the people of Goa would see Governor Sidhu perform his statutory duty of complying with the provisions of the Right to Information Act in order to ensure transparency and accountability at Raj Bhavan.
Meanwhile Adv Aires Rodrigues has today alleged that it was Goa’s Advocate General Mr. Subodh Kantak who had advised Governor Sidhu to take a stand that he is not a “Public Authority”.
Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that the Governor himself has become a victim of the unsound legal advice given to him by India’s highest paid Advocate General Mr. Subodh Kantak who is costing the State Exchequer over a crore of rupees a year.

Well done Aires. The best present one can give someone who believes he is above the Law.
No country in the world including Banana Republics & Tinpot Dictated countries have exclusive Laws for the countrys administration.
Everyone must be accountable for their actions...this is also the Law in all Religions.
    Kantak must Go.
Even though Kantak has advised Mr Siddhu...Mr Siddhu should know better. He is part of the Indian Administrative Services college.

  7. With reference to Right To information Act, can I ask Government of India to explain ‘Why Government of India invaded Goa on 18th dec 1961?’ and ‘If any Goan or representative of Goa had requested them to do so?’
Please, Can Someone advice me, whether the subject [above questions] falls in the scope of RTI or not, if yes also advice whom to address to.

  8. @Swapnesh - Very good thinking, and we have the right man and the right site for this Job, it will be very interesting to know that poppet nehru had to follow USSR oders, or does nehru's office too is exempted from the RTI Act.

We should also not forget the wealth of our MLA's, how did they become rich, where did they get the wealth from, who helped them to fill in the TAX return form and so on.
