Politicians in Goa have been so much publicised in the last 50 years that we read so many public toilets having names of some prominent politicians on their inaugration details. Are these the reasons why we have elected representatives for trivial causes or is it for a greater cause to have a better life and unique identity?
The great assuarances and promises of scrapping MOPA, providing employment to ethnic Goans, eliminating corruption, providing better health care facilites and better hospital treatments have been put aside after the elections are over and then begins a new era of promoting mega housing projects detremental to Goans, illegal mining, sidelining ethnic Goans for a votebank, no action to preserve our unique identity, misusing police machinery, no control over drug and flesh trade, exploitation, etc, etc.
And so today we have ourselves to blame for electing the same old faces who have done not much to preserve our identity and provide a better living conditions in lieu for a pittance of favours . As rightly stated by Raul Fernandes in his article in Herald, and so I would reiterate it once again ‘’There is much about our Portuguese past which works - Its systems, it mechanisms, its architecture and its heritage’’. Fifty years down the line we are still struggling to have a proper identity of our own and risk being outnumbered in the future unless something is really done to stem the rot. I was completely amazed to see the development of groups being escaled from G4 and G7 in 2007 to G10 in 2010 with confidence that they will be reelected thanks to the continuous disunity and short sightedness of majority of our own highly literate and selfish Goan electorate.
My open letter to PWD minister Churchill Alemao is instead of promoting your G7 and G10, I challenge you to get back to your basics on your highly forgotten assurance to scrap MOPA on which you got elected or come clean whether you are content with only your PWD ministry which has restored so much confidence and ostentation in you of being returned back for yet another term no matter how larger or smaller Gs you forms?
Thank you Rupert for identifying our Goan highly literate and selfish electorate. Rather than putting the full blame on the politicians, today I realize that we should be able to shift our focus on our own Goans some of these who are crumb eaters. And these are political crumbs they cherish and relish not realizing that it won't feed their hunger but destroy the true fabric of Goa.
ReplyDeleteRupert.. Chorchill is the cancer of Goa. The faster we eliminate him, the better it would be for all of us. Goans have been taken for a ride on the train of false assurances and promises by politicians such as Chorchill and his corrupt clan.

The problem I have noticed in Goa is that when some Politicians,mostly un-educated, come into money, they lose their moral balance and believe they are now Gods gift to Goan society.

Churchill has never earned money the hard way or by hard graft.His sole methods are via criminal enterprise.He does this, even today.
He was educated in the school of SMUGGLING or "EASY MONEY".
He uses Religion and devotion to God to show his PIETY.But this Piety is purely a mask &cover up for his mis-deeds and mis-appropriation.
He will never ever realise that the money he has accquired actually belongs to the Humble Goans.
The administrative systems in Goa are not designed to help the poor.It is done purely for namesake.They are not friendly and very cumbersome.
Hence the poor,even though they know their rights,feel helpless & know that the only way to sort any grievance or get a quick resolution, is to approach their MLA.
For the favour granted,the MLA demands loyalty.
This is the vicious circle Goans face everyday.
Churchill to the educated class is no more then an ogre and a buffon.
He has never earned respect.He buys it.He is elected on false promises, and, his use of money at elections.
In my opinion,nothing short of death will release us from the clutches of this evil monster.However ,do not lose hope.God does work in mysterious ways.
Lets also hope the Election Commission of India, will soon enact laws that probhit the use of money to purchase votes at elections.The sooner the better.
I can also quite happily state, Churchill is on his last leg of his corrupt journey through life.We may have only a few years more to endure his style of dirty politics.
His children are no better than him.They may have educational Degrees.It is purely for academical purposes and not vocational.These so called Degrees were for "showing off".They were more than likely bought.
Valanka has lready entered the seedy side of the Political class.Her brother Savio will soon follow.
But Goans are now being better advised,through many mediums.
Niz-Goenkar has offered many folk, an honest and frank insight on Goa`s Political establishment.The comments on NG website are based on peoples personal experiences.The comments are deadly, honest & frank.
I am sure Churchill is very much aware of the site.Whether he can interpret the comments is another matter.But I am sure his daughter & son will do so for him at the dinner table.
So I pray , your article and letter will get thorough his dumb skull.
I can assure you Rupert, Churchills big head is made more out of "BONE MATTER" rather than "BRAIN MATTER".

CHORchill=Mega Prjects= Some in Goa call the new Black Raj of Goa = Traitor of Goa. Receives big kickbacks, who knows how must he received for the Mega projects! They then hand out breadcrumbs for votes. This is our Indian ‘democracy’ – dirty filthy system. The Black Raj who's family comes from coconut pluckers, wants his dynasty to live on as the new 'raj family' with his daughter 'big lips' . I urge the people of Goa to reject this family. We have already paid a high price. It is time for new 'good' blood. End this new Raj mentality! Rouges!
