CAVEAT AGAINST GOA GOVERNOR FILED IN THE HIGH COURT

PANJIM: A caveat has been today filed before the Bombay High Court at Goa by Adv. Aires Rodrigues against the Goa Governor Dr. S.S.Sidhu.
The caveat has been filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues anticipating that Governor Sidhu may move the High Court against the notice issued to the Governor by the Goa State Information Commission directing him to personally appear before the Information Commission on Jan 4th in connection with the complaint filed against him for not complying with the RTI act. .
Adv. Aires Rodrigues in his caveat today before the High Court has prayed that no order be passed without notice to him on any petition that may be filed before the High Court by the Governor or his Special Secretary.
In 2008 as the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar had not filed a caveat before the High Court, the Goa Governor managed to get an ex-parte stay against the order of the Goa State Information Commission.
The Goa State Information Commission by an order dated 30th July 2008 had directed the Raj Bhavan to furnish information sought by Mr. Manohar Parrikar under the RTI Act.
The Raj Bhavan moved swiftly and on 4th August 2008 challenged the State Information Commission’s order before the High Court. On 5th August 2008 Raj Bhavan obtained an ex- parte stay order from having to furnish information to Mr. Manohar Parrikar. Though the High Court had directed that the matter be expeditiously heard it has not come up for hearing for the last over two years.
Mr. Manohar Parrikar had under the RTI Act sort a copy of the reports sent by Governor to the Union Home Ministry on the political situation in Goa during the period from 24th July 2007 to 14th August 2007.
Goa State Information Commission yesterday directed Goa Governor Dr. S.S. Sidhu to personally appear before the commission on 4th January 2011 at 10.30 am in connection with the complaint filed against the Governor by Adv. Aires Rodrigues for non- complying with the Right to Information Act. Governor Sidhu has been claiming that he is not a “public authority” and does not come within the purview of the RTI Act.

  1. Yes, open the books on all these people...we know what is going on. It is time we had a Goan governor. If we are 'liberated' why is it we don't have a Goan governor??? Isn't it because the central government wants to suppress us and keep us under their control. I thought as some on this blog said, we are ‘free’....really? are we??? The Goans are being kicked out of Goa, we just don't know it. The rest of India has come to occupy our land..That is the fact! Now, it’s that invasion…but now we have idiots that don’t to use that word…brainwashed, because they can’t think for themselves. Celebrate your 'Golden Jubilee!!! I applaud Aires for using the same system to open the filth in Goa…. only I will advise him, he needs to be very careful, it would not surprise me if someone takes him out in the next few days….’will be just another unsolved murder that happens everyday in India for anyone that tries to expose this dirty filthy system we call democracy. It is a lie that is being perpetrated to the rest of the world. Stop preaching we have a democracy, when we have a dirty filthy system that has all rogues, murders, smugglers, rapists, thieves and LOOTERS as leaders in Goa!! Wow! What a system…any ideas what we should actually call it?????
