Goa’s distinguished judge, Anuja Prabhudesai is finally being reinstated. Her suspension was unwarranted and a grave injustice.
Since her appointment as a judge in 1991, Anuja Prabhudesai has displayed extremely high levels of dedication and integrity. Her character has remained unblemished during her entire tenure. With all her humility and gentleness she did not deserve to be treated so shabbily. The ruthless treatment meted out to Anuja Prabhudesai has put the entire judicial system to shame.
With the callous suspension of Judge Anuja Prabhudesai it was established that the wheels of justice too can be manipulated. Unlike the Legislature and Executive which has gone to the dogs, the Judiciary has been till now left largely intact and we cannot allow the independence, sanctity and transparency of the Judiciary to be eroded.
By merely reinstating the wrong done to her is not remedied. Rather, it is vital for the credibility of the judicial system that the conspirators in this most foul plot against her be exposed and punished. Those who framed fake charges against her should not be spared. It will only then reinstate the Aam Aadmi’s faith in a system that failed a very senior, intelligent and bright judge.
Political system in the country has eroded and as such, these type of incidents happens. Good that justice done at the earliest.
ReplyDeleteIt is great that Judge Anuja Prabhudesai has been reinstated, now we would like to see the conspirators against her brought to justice.
ReplyDeleteA jigsaw puzzle that was easy to fit right from the start - Anuja Prabhudesai had to be stopped from assuming office as the next High Court judge - so they make up allegations, charge-sheet and suspend her, delay her inquiry….. before the next High Court judge is decided , excellent time management from the powers that be that wanted to sideline her. Why couldn’t their system allow them to go ahead and select whoever they wanted to anoint to the position, but to attack a person’s integrity, reduce her to nothingness and harass her? Fortunately it was her value system and a strong belief that she had done ‘no wrong’ that saw her through this trying period. Some of you from the legal fraternity have testified to her uprightness and honesty. Your support, I guess was the bright light shinning in the tunnel and it was indeed a powerful light as you are the ones who know your judges. How much do the ones sitting in Mumbai know other than what has been told to them by their representatives in Goa? Talking of conspirators being brought to justice………..maybe in another world?
