TRUTH HELD IN BONDAGE OF POLITICIANS by Shyam Sawant, Ponda

History is repeating itself. It happened once before now it has happened again. The voices of truth are being suppressed by the politicians of Goa and by the Goa Police who had the nerves to threaten the HERALD news paper to close down the comments section.
Throughout the world there is freedom of speech in democratic countries. But what about the democracy in India? It is said that India is the largest and biggest democracy in the world. But does that not apply to Goa? Goa is ruled by dictators who cannot be controlled even by the centre. The Goa Police have acted the mafia when they forced the Herald to close down the comments section as they were exposed openly of their misdeeds.
I made my own preliminary inquiries with the Herald where I have several of my good friends working. I got the response that the editor who is a coward was threatened by some politicians and ordered to close down the comments section. According to the sources, Fernandes the editor of the HERALD was threatened with dire consequences if he does not comply. The reason given was their elections campaign was failing as a result of the open exposure of their misdeeds. I have also come to know that this editor of Herald is a CHAMCHA of the politicians. The next surprising news that I got was that the Police from Police Head Quarters called up forcing them not to open the comments section any more. The HERALD has shut down the comments and this time it is for good never to be opened again. The message at the bottom is nothing but hypocrisy.
So my Goans this is the way truth is being tried to be pressed down and not allowed to raise its head. People were getting aware of the situation in Goa and this, the politicians and the police did not like. It is also learnt by me that the Crime branch of Goa Police were calling every now and then to close the comments section. Herald succumbed to these threats and calls. But otherwise also Herald was a biased and aligned with politicians’ news paper.
I am proud of Niz Goenkar and its contribution to the society. People in Goa take my advice. DO NOT BUY HERALD NEWS PAPER anymore. Let us boycott this paper as it is a politicians’ paper and its editor Mr. Fernandes is in the pockets of the politicians. He is a puppet of the corrupt politicians. This article will also be posted by me in the BBC online news so that the world knows what goes in a democracy of India. Let us not lose heart, let us unite and fight against the crook politicians of Goa, corrupt policeman and politically controlled newspapers. GOD BLESS GOA AND THE GOANS not the politicians.

  1. Politics has reached such a point in Goa, rather than having civilised open politics we have Gondas and dictators and victims. The recent protest against the Land Sharks Developers have put the final nail in Goan freedom of speech. It is a shame that the press had yield to political pressure. These Ghanti lovers have sold their soul to the highest bidders. It only proves that the truth hurts with United freedom of speech. God Bless Goa and Honest Goans in it.
Please do not post any swear words and no negative comments against our good NIZ GOENKARS.

  2. The voice of Corrupt Politicians and police officials could be heard by Herald? I am sure from the writing by Shyam Sawant, the politicians are aware of the intentions of the common man, "Throw the set of corrupt politicians out in the dustbin". I wonder why people neglect Gomantak Times, it brings a better coverage than Herald, most of the articles are bold. Herald is too sentimental about it's politicians who dictate terms to them. Herald is considered as the newspaper of the Christians, it is a wrong notion.

  4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Bagthasingh

We are ready to give Rs 5 crores to Goa government to take the river princes from the sea if the Government will allow us to remove the materials through shore/land.Salvangar plans are that if he will not take the below water level scrap(means inside the sand scrap)the above water level scrap will come profit to him.Afterwards, Government will put another tender to take the inside sand scrp.
He is thinking like that.Inside water below the level scrap taking work is very very hard.In Merina beach in chennai,no one company are taking out the scrap from below sand level.
Nearly 30 years,200 peoples are died every year in Chennai Merina beach.
    It is inland beach.
But Goa is Internatonal beach.Ten years decision is too late to the Government. It must take decision like MSC CHIRA agrouded ship salvage decison in single tender for SMIT SALVAGE COMPANY,SINGAPORE.

  6. Well Goans, Herald is not the end of the World. We have the Niz Goenkar which is fearless and brings up our comments word by word. There is no censorship here. Let us spread the name of this online news of NIZ GOENKAR throughout Goa. Even though the comments here are with approval it is good to keep the anti Goans and the instigators out like Trevor and dlp said.

  7. If one comes to UK, one will find the real democracy, or go to USA again one will find the real democracy. Freedom of speach. No one will sensor your comments even if you give somebody dirtiest of the badwords. But Indian democracy is just a name sake democracy. There are people who say India is not democratic but hindu state, there are ministers who think and behave in dictatorial fashion. Can somebody tell me whether the Portuguese rule was better or is the Indian rule better?

  8. Hello my niz goenkars. I had been following the comments on Herald on a regular basis and had become addictive to it. I stay in the UAE and the comments were really good and many times I wanted to comment. Now Herald is closed to comments I wanted to know why. I called my very good friends who are still working for Herald and asked them why the management closed it. They also told me they were under tremendous pressure from the politicians and the police to close the comments. They also told me the crime branch visited Herald and wanted the contact of all those who were making those comments. The people in the IT section of Herald told me they were in particular interested in knowing who BEBDO was. They think this BEBDO knows too much and would have exposed them. I also had praised BEBDO for his forthright comments becoz I found them interesting.they could not locate BEBDO's details becoz this BEBDO has encrypted it. BEBDO pls come back on this forum and support the cause of GOA AND GOANS. VIVA GOA, VIVA GOENKAR AND VIVA BEBDO.

  9. Honesty comes from the heart and good conscience, I have just been off the phone with one of the regular commentators. I have do not know anyone in herald but have heard a lot about the pressure to close the comment section. Direct threats have been sent to many of the writers. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years on Robin Island prison fighting for the right cause. He has set an example for all the truth seekers, and followers are many. Unity is a must.

  10. It appears that Lawry de Souza is an agent of the corrupt politicians who is trying to woo away the commentators. He is trying to frighten those who try to bring out the truth. What does he mean by "encrypted" I am a programmer, an analyst myself with about 30 years experience. How can someone encrypt what is a simple program? Herald has a form for details and based on the the comments are displayed. Only we programmers can compile encrypted programs when we create them. So this is utter nonsense. Lawry if you are trying to fool us then be it known to you that we are not AN'NADIS like you. You can lick the arse of your politician friends as much as you like and don't pretend you are in UAE. We can base that on your ID OK? You wrote all poppycock here. I too have got my best friend at the top level in the Herald.

  11. Hi Lawry ! Are you an honest person ? First you say "I stay in the UAE and the comments were really good and many times I wanted to comment" and then you go on to say "I also had praised BEBDO for his forthright comments becoz I found them interesting". Are you using more than one name ?
