RAHEJA, THE PIG & AAM ADMI - By P. Cruz Vasco Da Gama - Goa

What does the people on Earth require or what our basic necessities, I know everyone will answer food, clothing and Shelter. Do all Goans or Aam Admi have this? Food! Yes we have it most of the things coming from outside of Goa like vegetable, chicken, beef, etc. Do we have cloths?
Yes we have it and most of the clothes coming from outside? Do you have Shelter? Yes we have shelter which was given by our parents where our joint family stays together and most of us do not have their own, why? So these are the basic necessities we do not have being a Goan, are we self reliant? No we are not as we depend on outsiders for everything not only basic necessities but also for the Electricity, hospitals, education, jobs.
I know when I was in school there was a small uprising in Vasco town where the Vascoites got together and started to drive away all the Non-Goans ( we call them Ghantis). They started to run here and there and boarded the trains, buses and what ever they could get. As the agitation was getting tense the government of Karnataka issued a threat for us by cutting the electricity and to stop supply of all the vegetable, beef, etc. Then the agitation was stopped, why? Simple we depend on others for our basic necessities; we are not self reliant state. May be our Growth per Capital is better then the other states, we are not self reliant. Why we require depending on Karnataka for electricity? Why can’t we built our own power plants to supply electricity for the state, it could be nuclear electricity, power plant with Steam Turbines, hydroelectricity, why it’s not possible? Why they are interested in Sea links bridges and waste money for nothing? Why they want to buy power from outside? For clothes we can manage a little bit but most of the material is coming from out of state Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kashmir, etc.
I was in Mumbai in my friends house, his son is an Engineer who works for Raheja and he was suppose to visit Goa as he was appointed to look after the project. That night we were talking and having discussions among ourselves, suddenly he told me that he will be coming to Goa and gave me some information about which place and what project. I just asked him about the project and the cost of one apartment. He informed me the project is in Carmona and built by Raheja and the cost of one apartment with five bedrooms, kitchen & hall is 8 to 18 crores. I said oh my God 18 crores unbelievable! The whole family said it’s unbelievable! It has all the facilities like swimming pools ( for Pigs when they sweat), gym ( for the chamchas of the pig to do goondagiri), beauty salon, sauna ( to rape & blackmail womens), disco theque ( for boozers and drugs mafia’s) Who can buy this? Aam Admi Goans or the Pig? Is this project for Goans or for Goan Pig? There were protest from the villagers but I think this was suppressed by the government as Raheja have lot of money to feed their pockets and imagine how much the Pig’s have received as kickback. We do not have shelter in our own place and the government says Aam Admi all bullshit. I know one guy ( I forget his name) is fighting for this with others and he has written one book which he will sell and fight for the election against the Pig’s. I ask every Goeankar to buy one at least in each house and read it to support the cause of the villagers. It happened to us, and now for them and it will happen to you in future. We need to fight against Raheja’s, the Pig’s and the convernor of Aam Admi Mr. CM.

  1. Your article highlights the problems but the solution is not put forward. The person fighting for the election, I wish him good luck. But my experience tells me that him winning the seat, wherever he contest, are very slim. Because we Goans (especially Catholics)have one weakness and that is lacking in unity. If we want to save Goa, the first rule or lesson we should learn is to unite. Without achieving unity, hopes for saving Goa are gone with the wind.

  2. Mr. Da Silva you are cent percent correct we do not have unity. Some of the Carmona Villagers have taken the fight under the banner " All villagers Ekvott" they have already started agitaion and Chorchill is trying to supress it. We need to get in touch with them and extend our support in whatever way we can.Now the same thing is happening in cansaulim!

  3. What is happening in Carmona is typical of every coastal village in Goa. We Goans deserve to be called Pigs. Since in spite of all the miseries heaped on us we will still elect the same Politicians. In my village of Colva even educated people are only concerned about their self interest. They just say that as long as I get what I want, I do not care what Politicians do. So you cannot expect things to improve.
