Rohit Monserrate, the son of Atanasio Monserrate, the Education Minister who has been accused of raping a minor German girl most probably will be freed from the case as the Mother of the victim said on Friday that her daughter would not appear in court.
The 14-year-old victim’s German mother has written to the Goa Children's Court (GCC), "Her daughter would not appear in the court as she does not want to pursue the case against Rohit Monserrate". Previously on 2nd October, 2008, the victim’s mother complained in the Calangute police station that Rohit Monserrate raped her minor daughter and made her to drink alcohol and smoke as many cigarettes to evade pregnancy.
The mother recently wrote a letter to GCC saying, "The victim has forgotten everything and she does not want to remember it again." She has also mentioned that she and her daughter are not willing to pursue the case booked almost a couple of years back. Rohit's father the education minister Atanasio Monserrate had also been accused of abetting the rape but, he was acquitted as the police didn’t have enough evidence against him.
The complaint stated that the police previously tried to wrap up the case by not registering the complaint. Later, the German consulate officials had to write to the Chief Minister asking him to investigate the case seriously.

It appears more in third world countries then developed countries, the families of politicians assume they are untouchable and above the law. There was an incident in Verna Goa last year where the nephew of Churchill knocked another vehicle from the back. Instead of excepting the fault, he assaulted the driver of the vehicle he knocked. When a third party intervened he was told by on lookers to stay away, as that was Churchill's nephew. Imagine the fear that one person can bring to the large group. All because their relatives are politicians or with power.
ReplyDeleteSo a very lucky escape from imprisonment for rohit monster-rat. God alone know how many more girls are raped by rohit just like his minister father Atancho Monster-rat.
ReplyDeleteThe boy looks like a rastafarian drug dealer. The father is Minister of Education...he couldn't raise his son right, and now we put him to raise Goan children? God help us!
