Looting Goa’s Greenery by Menino Fernandes

GOA AND GOANS HAVE TO BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST

A stadium in Tivim! Another stadium is not the necessity for Goa right now. Can we let go our fields and lands in the name of this development. Once this stadium is built there will be more criminals coming down to Goa. Do not destroy the green Goa. In fact let us try to salvage what is left after destruction.
Do we really need this stadium in such a small state as Goa? Why not look at other states that are bigger and have got vast land, plains, hills and fields to build a stadium. Dear Goans do you really think this stadium is required at this stage in Tivim? Do you people think anything good will come out of it? Do you not think how many true Goans will lose very little they have or what is left for them? Please answer my question and if I am wrong please correct me. The basic needs are not given to us and they are out to build a stadium. I do not know how you all people feel about it. Or is it that I am wrong in my above judgment of necessity? Is it that in the guise of building the stadium the rulers are going in for a fill up of their pockets? Only questions seem to pop up. No sooner the building of the stadium starts imagine the rush of migrants there. Then the roads will be required to be broadened to manage the rush of the traffic during the games. The present road would not suffice. Which means quite a lot of people will lose their houses and their properties. Who is going to gain in this process? It is none other than the concerned politicians. Their pockets would line up to the brim and the cost of the poor Goans. Goans please open your eyes and see the systematic looting of Goa’s greenery and the new way of depriving Goans of their houses and properties.

Instead of going for stadiums and other things why not establish a medical analysis laboratory in Goa? The swab of the lady who died had to be sent to Delhi. If this is the case who knows how many people are going to die by the time the swabs are sent to Delhi and by the time reply comes back? Calculate the delay. So the government should stop building stadiums and instead build good modernized laboratories where every disease could be tested in no time. Build laboratory in every PHC and Hospitals (Government Hospitals). We need better hospitals, schools and public places. It is obvious that neither the Congress nor the BJP will give any peace to the people of Goa. When the next election comes dear Goans please think and vote. Let us avoid our own destruction. We have to take care of it. No one will come to help us in the end. Wake up Goans – UNITE and FIGHT like never before!

  1. When I was young to date I love salad, If ever I used a cucumber for salad my mother would say, "do you know that a poor family could make a curry out of the cucumber" . These words of our elders had great meaning. Even the priest use proverbs and examples during sermons. But these Goan ministers have lost it all for the sake of their own glory, in the process civil servants take bribes to sanction the projects get richer. The money that is being spent in these unwanted projects could better the lives of our poor Goan families . It is time this generation of Goans stand up and get united to Voice themselves or else the future of their Children will be lost forever.

  2. I really appreciate what Mr. Menino mentioned in the article. Its high times for the Goans to wake up and do something. Many Goans will agree on this article but our own MLA's will not understand as most of them are uneducated.
