WHY GOA WAS INVADED by Menino Fernandes

The occupation of Goa cannot be reversed as the Goans are powerless or unless a miracle takes place or some foreign powerful nations help the Goans in getting an independent Goa. Definitely there is no return of the Portuguese.  But the Question. A frequent question asked by the Goans.
Nehru
Is it really “Liberation” that took place in 1961 or just a ploy to win the Indian elections of 1962? Krishna Menon and Nehru seemed to play their cards right. They were so afraid to let go off the power from their hands, they decided to bully their smaller neighbour Goa.
It was also the other colonialist USSR that helped the vicious and bullying Indians to over power the small unit of 3500 Portuguese soldiers with an overwhelming army of 35,000 soldiers and illegally occupy Goa. The real Goans be they Hindus or Christians never revolted against the Portuguese rulers. It was some criminals who were jailed in Aguada for crimes like thefts, cheating etc who either after completing their terms of sentences and some by escaping joined the Indians in Maharashtra. They thereafter declared themselves as Freedom Fighters of Goa. Even these freedom fighters were not consulted by Nehru the aristocrat of Indian politics. Today these freedom fighters are neglected by the Indian government which they rightfully deserved for giving an open invitation to the Indians to invade Goa without thinking of the consequences or without keeping the farsight of it.
K. Menon
Did the Indian premier take into consideration what the Goans wanted for themselves? Did he ask the Goans whether they would like to join the Indian union? Did he ask the Goans if they wanted to have their own independent Goa or if they wanted to be Portuguese? No without the consent of any of the Goans, the bullies invaded Goa and destroyed most of it without even facing any resistance, they destroyed Goa and its culture. Nehru did not even listen to Gandhi who tried to stop the invasion of Goa or the use of force against Goa. Mohandas Gandhi had requested Nehru not to invade Goa or use force against it.
It was due to this aristocrat Nehru that Pakistan was born and came into existence. Today this very Pakistan has good support from international communities including USA than India. Why? Today Pakistan too has nuclear weapons to counter India. But Goa has been suppressed in such a way that there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
After the invasion the Indian army started roaming in the villages of Goa, they started looting shops and other businesses. The Indian army started committing most atrocious crimes against the Goans; they started raping the Goan women, by entering their houses.
The politicians in Nehru and Menon had their say and to add to this some of our very Goans turned traitors and betrayed the Goan cause for an independent Goa. They joined the Indians and invited them to invade a peaceful Goa.
Goa was thus systematically destroyed and is continued till date the by the Indians. This bullying will continue and will not stop till the Goans form an united front to face the nuclear bully India.
The invasion of Goa was justified by the Indian rulers and won the 1962 election just because of this act of so called “Liberation” It was also supported by USSR, Liberia, Sri Lanka & Egypt against the remaining nations who were against the Indian Invasion and asked the Indian government to move the army back to the pre 17 December 1961 position. Those nations who supported Goa and Goans cause are USA, Great Britain, France, China, Ecuador, Chile and Turkey. But sadly the invasion took place and the Goans had no say in anything. Everything was forced upon the Goans by the Indians

  1. We the Goans are very unfortunate. We are supressed and constantly kept under pressure by the politicians. Nehru played his cards but our so called freedom fighters did not even bother to intervene and say that Goa would be ruled by Goans. They could have just told Nehru and Menon "Thank you for help in liberating us. Now we are going to take the reins of Goa into our own hands"

  5. Thank you Menino for the lovely write-up on this issue. Now there is a Convention being conducted by the Goan Cultural Centre Kuwait for the Global Goan Convention 2010, to be held on 16 and 17 November, where the representatives of all over the World will be participating in this Convention. This is a very good place to take up the above issue and other related issues in right earnest. Is any of the Niz Goenkar representatives are going to attend it so that we can put forth our points? I would appreciate if our dear moderator could confirms our participation in the Convention.

  6. Dear Franco,

Right now I do not have any representative in Kuwait neither the Goans in Kuwait have given any signal that they are for Niz Goenkar. So I just do not know how to do this. I had plans and wanted somebody to represent us for the Global Goan Convention. Though Goans in Kuwait do read Niz Goenkar, so far nobody has come forward to represent us. I still request the Goans in Kuwait who are for Niz Goenkar to come forward and to represent us for the Convention - Menino

One thing is common between Nehru and Mickky pacheco that is womanising and scratching their balls. Nehru was also an expert in that field and Mickky is equally infact much more of a champion in adultery, womanising etc.

  12. Thanks to Mr Menino for this article and your hard work and dedication to this blog. I hope we can wakeup a people…OUR people! What is happening to us and our homeland is like a genocide. A huge exodus of people trying to escape, and consuming ratol when they cannot. We have Chors in charge in Goa....they are uneducated Chors with dirty immoral behavior they flaunt in public. They get re-elected again and again. IT's not the poor people's fault they are desperate for the breadcrumbs that are thrown to them. It is the dirty indian SYSTEM they call ‘democracy’! We are loosing OUR Goa! God help us!

  13. an extract von http://www.facebook.com/pages/Manuel-Antonio-Vassalo-e-Silva/136948769659467

    .Von Wikipedia, die kostenlose Enzyklopädie

Manuel António Vassalo e Silva (Torres Novas, 8 November 1899 - Lisbon, 11 August 1985), was the 128th and last Governor-General of Portuguese India.

    Background
He was the only son of Manuel Caetano da Silva (1870–1926) and wife Maria da Encarnação Vassalo (1869–1922) and brother of Maria da Conceição, married with issue, Joana and Aurora.

    Governor of Portuguese India
In 1958 he was nominated the 128th Governor-General of Portuguese India, of which office he would be the last holder.

When the Republic of India sought to annex the territories of Goa, Daman (from which had been previously separated in 1954 and annexed by India in 1961 the enclave of Dadra and Nagar Haveli) and Diu from Portuguese control in December 1961, Manuel Vassalo e Silva, recognizing the futility of facing a superior enemy, disobeyed direct orders from the Portuguese President of the Council of Ministers António Salazar to fight to the death and offered to surrender without a fight. After that he fell into disgrace at the eyes of Salazar, who never accepted the fait accompli of the annexation.

Vassalo e Silva was greeted with a hostile reception when he returned to Portugal. He was subsequently court martialed for failing to follow orders, expelled from the military and was sent into exile. He returned to Portugal only in 1974, after the fall of the regime, and was given back his military status. He was later able to conduct a state visit to Goa, where he was given a warm reception.

The Sagres was not given a warm welcome, but Vassalo was given, thank god at that time there were no FF or were they hybernating or still worse they couldn't face António Vassalo e Silva.

@Tulshidas Shirodkar, Well said definitely there is no difference between Nehru and Mickky Pacheco. The only difference is the former was educated and cool and the latter uneducated and foolish ignorant fellow.

Today we the Goans are nowhere and thanks to the illiterate monkeys that run Goa. The ghanttis definitely have an upper hand than us. Our Monkeys are only out to loot at any cost. Then there is another bunch of idiots known as the Freedom Farters who think they are holy people of Goa when in fact Naguesh Karmali and his gang of freedom farters are nothing but mere thieves who were locked up in the jails during the Portuguese rule. How I wish this idiot Karmali is hanged to a tree by the real good Goans. I will celebrate every time each freedom farter dies with an open buffet to all my friends.

  20. It may not be possible to reverse the perverse actions of the so called leaders of the past. However, we can certainly salvage whatever is left of us goans and our identity. This only if all of us get together and onto the streets demanding special status with a complete revamp of the political system of Goa. We certainly do not need 40 MLAs for our tiny state.
The last Liberation Day parade in Panjim was some kind of a fools parade with some paid cronies shouting meaningless slogans. Is this what we call 'Liberation'? It certainly is 'Liberation' for our corrupt and fraudster politicians who have been liberated to amass wealth by illegal means at the cost of the goan exchequer.
Calls for a Revolution my friends !!! No change in the world was achieved without it. People power !! So long as we continue in a sussegado manner, our land and our identity will only be eaten and contaminated further. Viva Goa !!!
