WOLVES in SHEEP CLOTHING by Praxy Fernandes, Sanquelim

Sometime back I had read in a vernacular daily from Goa that Ramakant Khalap, Churchill Alemao, Gurunath Kelekar, et al are championing the merger of Konkani speaking areas of Karwar, Joida, etc with Goa. Where are we heading to; Don’t we already have enough ghantis squeezing us Goans out of Goa and converting our beautiful land into slums and concrete jungles. What right the above people have to inflict more and more miseries on us.

I can understand Churchill as every Goan knows that he does not know what he talks. Isn’t he the same person who fought for Konkani and accepted Devnagiri script to our detriment? Our youth continue to suffer because of Devnagiri Konkani medium of instruction while non-Goans slyly get their children enrolled in English medium by paying donations, even in our convent run schools.

And just because Gurunath has won a prize does not mean he can wish whatever he likes or maybe he has some relatives there who he wants to add to our freedom fighters list and avail facilities at the cost of us Goans.

And the Marathi wolf in Konkani clothings, Khalap will definately look for new pastures to become MLA again as he has been rejected by his constituents and will never get elected there because the people from Pernem have realised his love for Marathi has infact ruined their lives with very little chances of them getting decent jobs due to the language barrier.

Hope my fellow Goans wake up and realise who the real Goan is and drive all such anti-Goans out of Goa into Karwar and Joida.
