CANDIDATURE OF VALANKA ALEMAO By Assumption Fernandes, Per-Seraulim

THIS LETTER IS RECEIVED BY EMAIL
Written by Assumption Fernandes, Per-Seraulim - Goa
Valanka Alemao
Dear Niz Goenkar,
I had sent this letter to our daily Herald dated 13th for publication in respect to reply to a letter written by Peter Gama’s criticism of Adv. Valanka Alemao. However, many voices get lost in support of the lady through Herald and mine too got lost and might have found place in the dustbin.
I hope, the opportunity through Niz Goenkar will publish my letter so it reaches to the masses. This is not in support of politicians or any particular party or individual but to highlight the character of today’s messiah of the people, downtrodden and the neglected society of Goa. This is the voice of the local people of Goa through Adv. Valanka Alemao who will be contesting the next assembly election from Benaulim constituency.
The letter dated 12.08.2010 however criticized Adv. Valanka and her father, who is the present MLA for the last few decades with his good work. Miss Valanks’s choice to contest elections is her own choice and it is none of the business of anyone to criticize her since she has decided to serve the people of the constituency through her social work and make people’s voice heard. Everyone has the right to contest including Peter Gama and his whole family. There is no restriction for anyone to contest provided one is accepted by the people, for the people, to serve the people. I believe in clean leadership with no criminal record. Valanka belongs to this category, she is hardworking with clean record and highly educated with a huge political background. She enjoys the support of the masses. Actually, the Goan youth wishes Valanka should lead them and that prompted her to actively think before she decided. With the full support of the local youth and the people in general, the massive support received from all corners of the World including the NRI’s abroad, it’s her ultimate decision to work for the people and serve them.
It is only the people’s choice that gives her the pride where she is accepted with open arms by the society as our future MLA. Mr Gama, before criticizing her through the columns of Herald, you should have touched the hearts of the people and felt the pulse. If people need her to lead them who are we to oppose her? I can assure that with the current pull, she is going to win with a thumping majority. One should have witnessed the crowd at the inauguration of her office on the 15th August near the Holy Trinity Church, Benaulim. Every household came in response to her call and the presence from all walks of society was immense. There was no need of introduction to the budding youth as there was one chorus in the air –“We want Valanka” that echoed in the air. I would also like to add for the information of the readers, not all letters sent to the editor of Herald gets published. However, I feel glad that there is one Magazine in the form of Blog here – Niz Goenkar”, the real people’s voice that can be read and heard. Therefore, I publish my letter through these respected columns not imposing my will on you but expecting my critics to write back their feedback which will give me a review of myself.
Assumption Fernandes,
Per-Seraulim, Goa

  1. We Goans are Generous an understanding. But when we hear a priest vouch for any person we expect better from that person. The people of the Salcette costal belt may see better in this young women, even if elected what chance does she stand in the midst of vicious wolves?. These wolves have ruined Goa, once beautiful place has turned into a concrete jungle. Shanty towns have sprouted almost every corner of Goa. There is no proper infrastructure in Goa and yet planning permission is granted to mega projects . Last year having stayed in a "five star hotel" in salcette I met just two Goans working there, one a porter and the other a cleaner and both Graduates . Goans are lost in their own State with no opportunity. Young graduated Goans who should have had a better future are leaving Goa in greater numbers. What is the programme set by the government to help these youngsters? The most common word in Goa is Bribe also known as Hafta, which has turned the poor into destitute, it is easier said "do not offer bribe". It takes longer than the official time if bribe is not given. There is every type of crime taking place in Goa, which our ancestors never heard of. Consumption of Drugs is another disease, even the pedlars are free from prosecution. To add many NRI Goans have lost their properties through corrupt officials. With all the above and the endless list in mind, and with Assumption Fernandes' endorsement Can this women deliver what the Goans really want? Is she willing to take on the Vicious Corrupt Wolves. Goa does need Honest Young Goans to Govern Goa with honesty. Is this women part of the answer? God Bless Goans, Unity among Goans is a Must.

  2. The father is a pig and slowly she will start accummulating and amassing wealth just like her rotten father. Assumption Fernandes, what guarantee can you give of Valanka? We do not want the children of the politicians in the politics as their fathers have already made a mess of Goa and gained for themselves wealth through lootings.

  3. Assumption Fernandes the article was nice and congratulations. We also want someone who is educated and fight for the people of Goa and Valanka is educated, also experienced in politics. Everyone have right to contest the election. But what guarantee we will have she will work for the masses. Ask her to stop Raheja Project as this project is not for Goans its too costly for someone to purchase a flat. Ask her to fight for it against her father and congress Party, stop the project and I will support Valanka. I am not just saying for name sake or just for fun, I am a Niz Goencar. Someone called us pigs, are we goans Pigs? I have nothing against Valanka or Churchill but we cannot shut our eyes when something goes wrong as goans are no more susegad. Ask her to fight, oppose & stop the project and I will support her. Can you please give your views on Raheja project in Carmona? Is it for goans?...I need your views please

  4. Assumption,

More of us Goans need to be honest and do some deep soul-searching and introspection on what these politicians are doing truly for Goa and for themselves and their families.

Truly if you ask yourself the rampant corruption and destruction that these politicians are wrecking on Goa will answer why they are keen on having their sonsodd and families continue their legacy.

It's high time that if you are a true Goan concerned about the future of Goa that you answer this question yourself honestly. If like these corrupt politicians you have sold yourself to the devil for the crumbs that come you way you will then stand up to defend them.

Assumption should know how the father looted goan treasury and now the the daughter will start. It is in their blood. It is a good thing that we came across this article as that showed us how many traitors are there in Goa favouring the Alemaos.

  7. This is a good article but the actors in the article are bad. Mr. Assumption do not create heroes and heroines from the villains. The alemaos will always be the villains in Goa and so also mickky pacheco. We the Goans do not need these type of actors on the screen again. Let them sleep at home and carry on with their old trades like smuggling & stitching clothes.

  8. Assumption must have been given some cash amount by churchill & co. That is why he is talking for them. NO person of right mind would speak for these pigs. Niz Goenkar did the proper job in bringing to us this article as it exposed how many people are there who are hand in hand with the politicians for money and feni.

Guys the Alemaos have done nothing other that amassing a huge wealth. they don't deserve to be on the political scene. But let us have a clean debate and listen to what other Goans have to say as long as it is a clean debate. Each one has got freedom of expression, let them write and we can always opt against them on this blog.

  10. I need to thank and congratulate Niz Goenkar for publishing my letter that was originally intended to Herald in reply to Gama. I could see positive and negative comments here. However, I wish to thank NIZ GOENKAR for carrying my own personal opinion based on my survey and thoughts. This is democracy and we practice it here right away on this blog. I would emphasise that Valanka is the people's candidate and she is not imposing herself on others. We live in a democracy and it is the will of the people through the ballot that will decide the fate of every candidate. It is also through the comments of the people on this blog, we see different thoughts. The thoughts of some of the people are reflected through their anger against Churchill Alemao. This may attribute to some personal grudges but the majority of the people has benefited from the long years of his political service. With Raheja's project, it may be linked to the VP who are the best judges but with Luizinho on the other side, things can be potrayed in negative image. Valanka will prove to be the better lot with all her quality education and service to the people. It will be the people's power that will choose the best from the evil. Valanke fits in the best of the column.

  11. There is a question bugging my mind, Will this women when elected Call for the scraping of the Mopa Airport? Her father first opposed it and then changed his mind. Dabolim can be developed in to a better airport there is sufficent land there. Why does the navy need that much land, Goa does not need that many navy personal.
NIZ GOENKAR. I do not like corrupt politicians specially those that promise and fail to deliver but we live in a democratic world. You were not wrong in publishing the letter. The least it did was give readers a chance to comment on their views.I am no Judge but who knows with so much negative views against the family she may one day prove us all wrong.God Bless Goa and Goans in it. Unity is a must.

  12. Assumption we do not have any personal grudges against Churchill, during konkani-Marathi agitation he was my hero, even when he seated for MP seat I have voted him and supported against the susegad Falerio. Why you are leaving Raheja's problem with VP? I am also against Luizino, he also corrupt. Regarding Raheja I know the rates of the appartment go and read the article on this blog against Raheja. Can the Goans buy this appartment? Who will benifit from it? only outsiders! If you have spoken truth about Valanka then also speak some truth of Raheja, you have asked our opinion about Valanka and I have given you my opinion. Now as you have come on the blog just tell me if the Goans can buy the appartment? Surely Valanka fate will be decided by Voters not us, but our comments can make lot of difference. Cany you ask Churchill to Retire and ask Valanka to stand in his place? Churchill is holding PWD and Science & Technology (am I correct? if wrong please correct me). You say Vanlaka is Qualified alright, Is Churchil qualified for that Post Science & Technology? Just give me 2 answer Raheja & Science & Technology I will be pleased whatever you assumption are !

  13. I am sorry I believe the father is going to run the show after his daughter is elected....don't be stupid or snookered like this Mr Fernandes. The situation is Goa is horrible. The only way is get a totally new slate...Usually in other counties that means a coup. Since we can't do that it is best to have them removed. I don't know what this Mr Fernandes is trying to prove, that so many people showed up for her coronation. Her father even used the priests to make statements. Very shameful! Everyone is saying the same thing that Chor, Chor, Chor - chill family are to blame for the terrible situation and we are going to allow this to continue. Please don't be fooled. What will Mr Fernandes will say if she is elected and acts like her father. Can he do anything to change that? Mr Fernandes please tell us how much you were paid to write this stupid article and insult our intelligence? You must have received some benefit, or that you are idiot! Maybe some hafta from the MEGA project! Everyone is crying on MEGA projects, but does he listen. They need to pay the price for the MEGA project! No to the dauther, do social work, but not as our politician. I dislike TRAITORS among us like this Mr Fernandes. It is sad that people in Goa are putting their interest first before OUR beautiful Goa! It is time to change! We need new blood, not the same old crap again and again, we are fed up!!!! Out with the smugglers, looters....thieves!

  14. I have been reading the recent comments by so many on the letter written by me and published by NIZ GOENKAR. However, I differ on some comments those criticizing the Alemao family so critically without mercy, I consider these people as barking dogs. They can bark and bark and there is no restriction for barking. Their’s is a one sided view as these critics writers failed or refuse to see the other better side which is the better part of Alemao family. Alemao’s has contributed for the betterment of the people, the poor and the downtrodden. None goes back from their house empty handed without being heard and helped. The nature of the family lies in helping others rather than looting as portrayed by Anonymous. I have no harsh language to throw at him but asking him to open his eyes and heart and look what the Alemao’s has done for the prosperity of the people, especially the poor people. He is instrumental in helping the downtrodden.
Now the daughter who is bred in politics is a much matured lady in this business. Politics is not a new thing to her, it is not her cup of tea for survival. She is not directly jumping into the election fray, people want her. She started her social service as a child and since 2005, she is actively participating in social causes and helping people. These things are not published on newspapers on a daily basis but the ill intentioned matters by the opponents are forcibly published. Talking about Raheja’s, Luizinho Faleiro was the one who imported Raheja’s in Carmona. Now he is fuelling tension as he lost to Churchill after a life time challenge. There is no other political family in Goa whose doors are open 24 hours for people’s service except the Alemao’s. There is none sent back because they do not want to serve. Valanka will be much different from her ancestors as she has physically seen the sufferings of the people and nursed these people by her love and affection. And she is deemed to get elected not as a political figure or just because she is the daughter of Churchill. But, because of her service, nature and care for the society. For the information of those who think that I wrote this in support of Valanka by accepting money, by God's Grace, I do not live on any political feeding, I have enough to support me and my family. - Assumption Fernandes

  15. My dear, assumption there can never be a better side of the alemao family. You are living in a world of fantasy. Once the evil of looting and collecting wealth goes deep into mind there is no turning back. Don't defend yourself and the alemaos. None of the Goans will like what you have written about them. Also don't try to get niz goenkar in between. Niz goenkar has only published what you have written and given to them.

  16. Mr. Assumption, I do not know if you are bribed by churchill alemao to write this article or no. But the way you insist on Valanka to be a lover of mankind is just beyond believe. Have you ever heard of a pig giving up eating shit?

I think it is most unfortunate that people like Assumption cannot see the reality of the situation of Goa. The father of Valanka has betrayed every cause of the Goans from Mopa airport onwards. Do you think we believe you that Valanka is a good person? Yes people like you do not go empty handed from their house. But people like me who tried to go on ship, when Churchill used to send, I was sent home because I had less money to pay them. They demanded two lakhs and I had only one and a half lakhs with me. The ships in fact pay the agent to provide them with manpower and plus the dirty pigs like your Churchill loot the poor by taking this amount.

  18. How much are you paid to write this article assumption fernandes can you tell us? Churchill never does such things free. May be churchill is going to give valanka's hand in yours.

  19. Assumption do not take name of Luizinho why this issue came now if it was Luizinho then it should have been mentioned before. On Herald newspaper Churchill have said that the Goans do not know where to protest and how to protest, for NGO's he said they are like pigs. you must be drinking free on his cost and coming here to give us bullshit. Now what Churchill said tell me it is miquoted by newspaper. Also someone mentioned he refused to send him on ship cause of money.. well ...well lies and lies. Churchill & Luizinho became Kupar in the church and took oath, If they can cheat the God, can't they fool us? And you Lusufer get out of this blog.. go and do chamchagiri. on which ground Churchil recieved Science & Technology portfoilios... on Fatorda Ground...ha..ha..ha

  20. Assumption please get the Raheja project stopped and scrapped forever. Goans do not need it. The creep churchil is out to make money. If your valanka is so good I challenge you to ask her to stop it first. If not do not come and write articles about the goodness of these people. These are the dirtiest people of all and your Valanka is no different from her pig father Churchill.

  22. Hello everybody, I think we are too cruel towards the author. Sudin as you see everyone has his freedom of thinking. i think we should respond in a mannerly way. Assumption wrote what was in his mind. Let us respect that and argue in a very polite way. He may be wrong or he may be right. Though I am against this glutton Churchill, I think we have to show the author what is right in his say and what is wrong but in a professional way. We have to show politeness to those who write politely.

I think Joel is right. Let our approach be more decent and with an open mind. These ugly politicians have done nothing good for the Goans and will never do. Their main theme is how to loot and amass wealth. Assumption I respect your views but can you somehow show us one or two reasons or something to make us really believe that Valanka is as you say to be? I think you have a right to your expression and Niz Goenkar has done a proper job in publishing your article. This gives us a chance to debate the whole issue in a proper way without getting personal.

  24. We definitely do not need any offsprings or kin or kith of the present dirty politicians. Even though they may be good for now, who can say once in power that they will not behave like their fathers did? No one can guarantee that. Let us vote someone totally new and good person.

  25. This is Churchill's Trick he will put everything on Benaulim people, I am from Benaulim we never said to her to lead us, these people who came there on the office inauguration were hired ones. This is the same office that churchill himself stoned in the night and the next day put the blame on Pinto to get symphaty Remember??? This Assumption does not know anything.... Churchill Alemao putting his foot in his mouth by calling Goans squealing pigs. The comment was made in the context of public outrage against his support to the Raheja mega housing project in Carmona. Churchill Alemao shed crocodile tears for the thousand odd builders in Goa who he claimed were very distressed because of the opposition to all housing projects. His statement confirms that Goan politicians, not excluding Chief Minister Digamber Kamat, do not care for the vote of Goans as they are confident of getting elected and re-elected by pampering the minority Muslims and the migrants, whose population is reported to have crossed 50% of the total voting population of Goa. As in the case of the Chief Minister’s constituency Margao, the Navelim constituency also has a large number of migrant and Scheduled Tribe votes.

But Churchill has not only antagonised the people of his constituency, but the entire South Goa if not the whole of Goa by his disparaging comments that Goans are squealing pigs. The NGOs and village level organisations promptly responded by dressing up a pig in a suit and calling it Churchill and parading it throughout South Goa, particularly in Churchill’s home village of Varca and his Navelim constituency. It is obvious that Churchill has made a great miscalculation because of his greed for money. His concern for builders is not born out of any concern for development, but how the stoppage of mega housing projects will affect the migrant vote bank, which Churchill himself has estimated at over Rs. Two lakhs in South Goa alone.

Obviously, Churchill has already got a major kickback from the Rahejas and has sent out a signal to other builders that he would take up their cause if they are willing to finance his next election and his ongoing requirements. I understand that Musli Power, the manufacturers of which are none to happy with Churchill Brothers, will be replaced by the Rahejas as the sponsors of Churchill Brothers football team. But by calling his constituents squealing pigs, Churchill has dug his own political grave as the people of any constituency that he contests from are unlikely to forget the insult.

  26. Do forget Mr A Fernandes, you are a pig too....words from your lover, Valanka's daddy. If you are fooled, please don't fool us. We have much more sence and intelligence than you. Please go drink now. Go to CHORchill's house for money for your drink. The CHORchills are looters, smugglers, theives on hafta money, making money for 10 generations and then giving you a few bread crumbs and then you come to fool us. We are not an idiot like you. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings, but please wake up!!!!! We are all screming here, that Goa is being destroyed and you are acting like a donkey. You work for the CHORchill family, you don't fool us. Go tell your employer CHORchill we are not fooled. All of Goa is not fooled, wake up Mr Fernandes!!!

  29. Dear Niz Goenkar, Valanka Alemao, has seen life and grown up in a better light and I must congratulate Churcill Alemao given the circumstances he had to face to grow up as a Goan he has provided a strict and disciplined upbringing for his children. Now Churchill is Churchill and Valanka is Valanka and she beleives she has the capacity to contest the elections on the merits of trust, responsibilty, honouring her chair in public office as a servant of the people, work hard with integrity and discipline and prove her mettle that she is a capable dynamic leader for the masses then she deserves every vote. I beleive she should avoid dragging her father or even the alemao name in her maiden campaign. You dont need a political party seat or influence to get voted. The people of Goan are educated and are mature enough atleat after learning so many lessons to vote for the right candidate. We need candidates to clean up the political mess in Goa. Some of us Goans are always reacting to our own brothers and sisters past, such people should not contest for elections, We have to be proactive you want to help Goans as a fellow Goan brother first for 3 years learn to do social work help the abused develop a charitable spirit, undo the gangs the poor youth who follow you like puppies for money, learn the meaning of democracy, and tolerance give up hate completley, and do not react to any statemnets.. and Goa will have great commendable sons and daughters of the soil soon. No Goan is filthy only our Goans who cannot handle circustances in life and dont know the meaning of power become filthy so we have to clean them gently :)

  30. Mr. Benaulikar, are you one of the bread crumb eater of Chorchill? List Goa will not have commendable sons and daughters of Goa but commendable sons and daughters of Karwar which your beloved Pig Chorchill is trying to merge for lootmari. About Valanka don't try to give us sermons which no one would bother to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Please keep in mind....'The apple does not fall far from the tree'. All the social work was affront to patting her CV to be elected....I have to say, she does stand a good chance of winning as her father knows how the dirty Indian political system works in Goa. You appease the masses with breadcrumbs and they give up their votes for the Alemaos to loot. In return more breadcrumbs are given and more looting and destroying of Goa goes on. I am now convinced that educated Goans have left Goa, and this has created a vacuum with uneducated people in Goa that are not intelligent enough to see the future of the Goa. We may have already lost Goa in 1961. I believe we have enough intelligent and educated Goans that care about the future of Goa, as seen on this forum, that maybe we can change and SAVE our Goa….I hope….it is too beautiful a paradise to loose! We also need to remove the dirt within ourselves and our people as we seem to continue to glorify a family of criminals.

  32. First of all I would question the integrity of Assumption, whether Herald has truly not published his article on this issue. It is indeed a praising letter to the Chorchill family rather than defaming them. I do not think Herald would neglect such letter for praising the Alemeo’s family. As Herald is part of this conspiracy, please don’t try to fool everyone over this blog because they are the one who stopped the postings on their comment box under pressure from these rogue politicians. As regards to Valanka, I have a strong believe that since politics is a lucrative business, where you can make quick money, she has got the taste of it from the father and nothing else. Is she the second Mother Theresa doing charity and social work, then let her leave everything what her father’s ill-gotten wealth accumulated by him through corrupt ways and go for social servicing only for the betterment of the Goan masses without taking with her any of her father’s wealth. Then at least she will get some repentance for her sins, for which the father has committed.
