HEINOUS SCENES IN GOA SO ACT NOW By Menino Fernandes

The recent spate of murders, rapes, molestations, thefts, drugs in Goa are sure to be felt among every Goan and through out the world. The way the murders have taken place shows what hard hearted and unscrupulous these murderers are.
If I am not mistaken what was once a calm Goan Village with peace loving and simple minded genuine Goans living there, CHIMBEL has today become a safe haven for non Goan criminals and murderers. All the criminals from Indian states come to Goa and hide in and around Chimbel.
Just as Afghanistan had been to the Taliban so has Chimbel become to the migrant criminals. Again Chimbel has become the Chambal valley for the criminals. Coming to our beautiful Goa, they have not only destroyed the communal harmony of the Goans but as well destroyed away our culture. Goans have now started living suspicious lives. Where once upon a time in my remembrance doors were left wide open and people used to sit and chat with each other in neighbouring houses, now have double locks on their doors. Fraternity has ceased to exist.
It is high time that we Goans take care of Goa ourselves and one way to do that is to do our own Jobs and chores rather that appointing these non Goan maids and servants. It is also high time that the Government of Goa takes a note of the situation especially in Chimbel and empties the place of the unwanted migrants or creates some sort of identity of these so far unchecked migrant workers. Contractors should be made to send back their migrant workers once the contract is over and not leave them to the mercy of hunger and jobless thereby forcing them to commit crimes.
I wonder how many times a month NAKA BANDI is done by the Goa Police in and around Chimbel. The police take some nominal rounds and just arrest wrong people under section 41 of Cr.P.C. Whereas the criminals are ignored. Even decent and good citizens of Goa are harassed by the Goa police under the pretext of prevention. There should be a thorough checking of the migrants especially in and around Chimbel, Baina, Margao and Ponda. Now a days criminals are even caught in Ponda which has become another hideout for them and right under the very nose of the Home Minister Ravi Naik.
My request to the Government of Goa to please take a look around and save what is left of our Beautiful Goa from outsiders and stop giving them permanent residence. Ration cards, election cards (inspite of their holding the same from their native places) and to act tough with the contractors who hire people from neighbouring states once the contracts are completed just like in the Gulf. We need a peaceful ROME OF THE EAST back and not see these heinous scenes in Goa.
I request the government of Goa, if there is any love left in your hearts for Goa and the NIZ GOANS please give us back our old glorious days and I am sure you can do this. But given the current situation and unscrupulousness of the Goan politicians it seems very difficult to get this done. Hence it is up to the people of Goa, the true Niz Goans to start a new revolution whereby all the present corrupt and crooked politicians are overthrown and kept away forever from politics. Our peaceful and glorious culture is fading and is nearing its extinction thanks to the corrupt politicians that we ourselves elect. My dear Goans please unite and get good and honest people into power. It is all in the hands of the Goans. So act now.

  1. Who is going to stop these crimes and the criminals entering Goa? Goa police have proved to be inefficient and unfit for the job. All the cases sent to the court by them fail and are acquitted. If we have no proper investigation, no proper vigilance by the police, no proper detection then what are these ministers doing? They are just warming their cabin chairs.

  2. This situation is created by none other than ourselves only. We blindly give our houses and rooms on rent to these outsiders for some money. We do not bother to check their identities and their character. Second thing is that the ministers have filled up Goa with outsiders. We must stop selling our land to these outsiders and stop giving them rooms on rent or first inform the police about these strangers that have come to ask for houses and rooms for rent.

  3. It a responsibility of every Goenkar to eliminate this out, we all! We do not have to wait for others. Everyone start and owe yours responsibility, we want security for our family and cleaner Goa for our new generation. Only we need to discuss when to start!

  4. Goa should have been a model state. All over the world Goans are regarded with respect, and even offered higher posts with thrust. But our governments and law enforces have ruined the name of Goa. whenever I visit my friend in Chimbel, I see its worse than the shanty towns of Bombay. Outer state criminals are using Goa as a platform to amass their ill gotten wealth, supported by some of those in authority. The drug case is a prime example of the government shielding the pedlars. What chance do the innocent Goans have against the corrupt officials? Unity and awareness is the prime tool against the corrupt.

  5. When BJP was ruling they cleaned out Baina. They were supposed to do so in Chimbel. Why did they not do it before falling off as a govenment of Goa?
