ESCAPED INMATE OF SADA JAIL APPREHENDED

The happiness of the escaped inmates of the Sada sub jail of Vasco lasted briefly for one of them Abhijit Patil. Two of the escapees who made a joint venture merry making at Kalay ended in the arrest of Abhijit. However Seby Ferrao managed to escape from the police net.

According to the Murmagoa and Curchorem police, the three fugitives Hitler Fernandes, Seby Ferrao & Abhijit Patil who had escaped by drilling a hole in the toilet wall, walked along the railway track all the way from Vasco to Bogmalo and from there to Seraulim railway station. Abhijit and Seby boarded a local train at Seraulim and proceeded to Kalay. Hitler Fernandes stayed back at Seraulim

On reaching Kalay, Seby did some purchases at the groceries, and then both of them went to an abandoned house belonging to Abhijit’s uncle. The locals of Kalay alerted the Curchorem police about the duo whose photos had been published in the newspapers. The locals said that nobody was aware of the duo present in their village. The were noticed only when fight took place between them.

On receiving the information, DySP Margao Sub Division Mahesh Gaonkar, Curchorem PI Bhanudas Desai, Sanguem PI Sagar Ekoskar, Quepem PI Sudesh Narvekar & Maina Curtorim PI Siddhant Shirodkar rushed to the site at about 02:30 hrs. They nabbed Abhijit Patil under the cover of darkness, who after obtaining the permission of Sub Divisional Magistrate of Quepem was transferred to Murmagoa police station and was arrested under section 224 of IPC

Seby Ferrao who slipped away and Hitler Fernandes are yet to be apprehended. The search for the duo is going on.
