A local from Santa Cruz, Mr. Renato Dias has pressed the panchayat authorities to take immediate action against the migrants residing near Santa Cruz High School for littering the area with waste, as it could lead to a possibility of diseases spreading in the area.
Mr. Renato Dias was speaking at the gram sabha on Sunday wherein he informed that the migrants have turned the whole area into a waste dumping site and warned the panchayat that if they did not take action immediately, there was every possibility of an outbreak of diseases, which would not only affect the locals of the area but also the school children. Renato also asked the authorities to inspect the site to verify the facts. He also futher informed them that the drains have been choked up due to the waste discharged by the migrants living there.
Renato Dias also informed the panchayat that a migrant PAAN vendor who had been stopped from conducting his activities in the village, has again turned up at another place and he also voiced his fears that if his activities were ignored, the other migrants would also join in, and that does not augur well for the village.

  2. This website NIZ GOENKAR has it all. Perfect news for the Goans. Articles that are written on this site by all the authors including the editor of Niz Goenkear Mr. Menino are heart touching and appears to have come out of their hearts. Our polished newspapers like Herald, Navhind times etc or online news like Goanews, Goacom would never have published all these beautiful and honest articles. The common men always speak the truth.

  3. Migrants in Goa is menace not only in their unhygienic way of living. but the illness that is breed through their lack of sanitation. The Pan eating and spitting all over Goa is another prime example. Santa Cruz has taken they right step and hope they can gain support from other villages too.
