POLICE –POLITICIAN-DRUG DEALER NEXUS BACK TO HAUNT DEEPLY INVOLVED RAVI NAIK WITH CHANDRAKANT SALGAONCAR’S HELP

PORVORIM: The politician-police-drug dealer nexus returned to haunt home minister Ravi Naik on Thursday. Alleging that crime branch of Goa police had themselves arranged the surety for alleged Israeli drug dealer Atala, who subsequently jumped bail and fled India, the opposition on Thursday demanded an investigation by an officer of the Indian Police Service into the crime branch's handling of the Atala case.
Ravi Naik in order to get his son out of the case has fed and reared the crooked DySP Chandrakant Salgaoncar, who sabotaged the case at every inch and was equally supported by his senior officers like Arvind Gauns, Atmaram Deshpande and a few others. Chandrakant Salgaoncar is also known for accepting gifts from thieves and goondas.
Ravi Naik came under heavy fire from the opposition during question hour but Naik did not accede to the opposition's demand. The starred question on "surety in the Atala case" was asked by Mandrem BJP MLA Laximikant Parsenkar. Relying partly on the home minister's written reply and partly on their own documents, the opposition pointed out that the person who stood surety for Atala was one Prakash Babu Metri who has been described in Naik's reply as "resident of Indiranagar, Chimbel" but who had "furnished his address as H No 363, Amaralwaddo, Taleigao." While questioning which was the real address of Metri, Parsenkar wondered how a poor man from Chimbel could stand surety for Atala, whose operations were conducted on the beaches of Bardez taluka.
Parsenkar and Parrikar recalled that in the last assembly session, the home minister had stated that Metri was a stock witness of the crime branch in 55 criminal cases. That is how the crime branch themselves arranged for him to stand surety for Atala, Parrikar charged, adding that Metri was a "puppet in the hands of crime branch."  The opposition also demanded that the investigation be headed by the deputy inspector general of police (DIG) and assured to furnish prima facie evidence in the case.

No matter who investigates this police-politician-drug dealing case, the case was decided from the moment the crime came to light. Atala’s disappearance was a well planned under political pressure one to avoid prosecution.
