GOAN DECIMATION by James Moraes, Cuncolim

Said to be a victory for BJP, freedom fighters, and like minded organisations decision to stop the Governors visit to NRP Sagres a Portuguese navy ship, was a senseless thing to do.
The so called freedom fighters, some of whom were cheats and had been convicted for robberies were imprisoned which led them to their present status. As a result, they obtained all facilities. The real freedom fighters are the ones who saved Goa by the opinion poll.
Today, because Portuguese ruled Goa, these freedom fighters enjoy benefits like pension, reservations etc. Such anti Goans will sell Goa to the highest bidder. This is a gimmick by anti Goans who are out to gain political mileage

  1. Thousands of Goan Hindus, Christians and Muslims saved Goa during the opinion poll, many shed blood too. None of them were honoured or get mentioned. After decades and through public pressure Dr. Jack Sequeira got mentioned, many have died poor. Why should the so called Freedom Fighters receive benefits of the state, while Goans are held in bondage through crime and corruption?

  2. This was no victory for the dumb nitwits and donkeys of BJP and the other Donkeys who are self declared freedom fighters. They have won a battle but lost a war on all fronts when the brave people of Vasco Kariaband came out in hundreds, hindus, christians and muslims to give the Portuguese a warm send off. Now let the freedom fighters of Goa under the leadership of Karmali eat their "ghu"

  3. Kudos to BJP and freedom fighters who managed to convince Governor and CM.

They did not bent to the pressure of traitors infested into Goan society.

  4. @Dark Knight, you are one of the worst dirty traitor of our Motherland Goa. You and scums like you have ruined our Goa. You can go and lick the @$#%! of the freedom fighters the thieves and BJP.
Your name suggests that you are a dark knght in fact a dark night for Goa. The statement you have made above you should use your real name and do it not using bogus names.

This shows that this man who is a fake knight, who is living on the bread crumbs of the BJP will definitely come up with anti Goan ideas. Well said sandesh I second you on that.

  6. These so-called FF’s are only dreaming of decent-paying grants from the Government. Their life without pensions will never end, after their deaths they will continue to get pensions on this pretext and pass on to their generations. These people are all fake bread eaters. They never struggled for any freedom. Their insignificant role and contributions to the struggle for the union was not toiled for. The real remarkable individuals of FF team must have already dead and gone without leaving any legacy for their near and dear ones. The only thing that is left to be done by all Niz Goenkars is to blacken their faces with charcoal and cow dung and parade them for their selfish deeds.

  7. @Dark Knight, you are complimenting to the same people who are communual and corrupt at core. Go back to history and see how many of these so called FF were thives and scoundrels serving term in jails. After liberation, they just simply called themselves FF. You need to do a good rethinking about these FF's and see how they are enjoying our own money being petty thieves and criminals of the past.

  8. Well said Sandesh! This ‘Dark’ Knight should be kicked out of Goa. He is the traitor that has destroyed Goa. @Dark Knight, you donkey, you people are destroying Goa, even the National Geographic said in less than 10 years Goa is one of the worst places, yet even 25 years ago we were rated one of the best beaches in the world. You illiterates act like the neo-Nazis in Europe. Please look up their websites and see how your views with the BJP match up with them! You and the BJP are destructive forces and I hope someday you all will wipe off the face of the earth. Some of us are proud of the little Portuguese heritage we have, not because it is white as you would like to claim, but because we benefited from the better of two cultures! You donkey will never get it. You will never be able to assimilate in the outside world, you ignorant fool. You people are the traitors of Goan soil. GET OUT!!!! STOP DESTROYING GOA!!!

Hey you folks, calm down, do not rush. Can you see that this so called Dark knight is not a Goan?
"They did not bent to the pressure of traitors infested into Goan society." A typical migrant English. Infest means something from outside infects you Goa.

  10. @ Dark Knight... you said "Kudos to BJP and freedom fighters who managed to convince Governor and CM. They did not bent to the pressure of traitors infested into Goan society"

Can you prove that you are a Goan? I am cent per cent sure that you are a ghantti and one of the many ghanttis who are destroying the culture, langauge and unique identiy of Goa and Goans.
Son of a gun you are calling Goans traitors who are "infested" into Goan society? If you have sauce in your balls then give us only an e-mail identity of yours, we don't need your full name and address. You will then know who the "traitors" of Goan society are.
You probably must be a shit eater of the Goans and must have came and settled in Goa due to the hospitality of the "traitors" Goans. Probably in those days when you probably first came to Goa, one of these "traitor" Goans must have even employed you to do the work of the pig in the toilet hole.
You shit-head, Goa doesn't belong to the Ghanttis. Goa doesn't have a Ghantti culture. Goa's culture is marvelled all over the world because it is a unique blend of the East and the West. Goa's culture is called Luso-Indian culture.
And you Ghantti should know that tourists come to Goa not to see Ghanttis like you but to experience the warm hospitality and the unique culture of the "traitors of the Goan society".
Viva Goa, Viva Niz Goenkar, Goa for Goans, Long Live Goan Unity

    To Dark Knight:::
I get the impression you are like an "amoeba".A single cell reproductive organism. Here briefly is a definition
"Amoebas are single-celled organisms that reproduce asexually. Reproduction occurs when an amoeba doubles its genetic material, creates two nuclei, and starts to change in shape, forming a narrow "waist" in its middle. This process usually continues until the final separation into two cells"

IN Niz Goenkar we have all sorts...but you are unique.
You have replicas .. JOHNADS,Gre8maan and now Dark Knight.Whatever next?
I hope you enjoyed you picnic with the Freedom Fighters of Goa.
If you are expecting Your "remark" to be taken seriously...you have come to the wrong site.
I would recomend to you O`Heraldo instead.

  15. Some Banana who calls himself Akshar is amused with this site. If someone trimmed his Banana a little bit it would amuse me so much that I would join that "group of fools" he refers to and laugh and laugh till death.

To be frank, I am truly amazed with this site, because it gives me an opportunity to see all kinds of assholes. Some good and some bad. But today I have seen the worst.

  16. Akshar is that his true name, I doubt he has a phone number and proper address, than again do the ghantis have one in Goa? Two words in the second line "go back " where have we come from? We are Goans and will be in our Goa. "Go back" refers to Ghantis to go back home and leave our Goa clean and crime free as was before the invaded Goa. The few words from the first line "Never underestimate a Group" That is correct we Goans are going to group together and kick ass of ghantis and corrupt politicians and their criminal and drug infested chamchas, together with those that disrupt communal harmony. Together the Goan group will endeavour to clean Goa.

    To Akshar:::
I am gald to note that you are "AMUSED" with the NG site.It has surely "Tickled" your imagination, awoken you from a deep slumber and propelled you to make a rather "clumsy" and ridiculous comment.
Nevertheless,I am sure your comment will only be digested and consumed by "self styled and inward looking idiots" that have a similar breeding and limitations to yourself.
I am not sure if you are able to read. And if you are able to "just about" read...then I doubt you are able to put comments here, into an intelligent perspective.I forgive you for your disability in articulation and narration.
The History of Portugal, in Goa has been widely discussed here on other similar topics. However in your wisdom you have chosen to ignore them.
To suggest that Portugal is some sort of another "Banana Republic" is another fallacy of your uneducated or "little" brain.
But since you have just demonstrated who the real fool is.. in yourself,...Portugal had its own Empire in nearly all continents.
Unfortunately "your" so called India, did not have one.It was always in the hands of foreign invaders from the Persians,Arabs, Mughals to the Portuguese & British,French & Dutch.Today India is under the empire of Corrupt Politicians of whom I guess you are "perhaps" one or, a supporter.
Niz- Goenkars support true and genunine freedom Fighters. However NG questions the ones that are pretending to be FF`s.It seems like a lot of people of a certain age can easily say they were Freedom Fighters.
The next question NG asks is what do the FF`s keep wanting 50 years after Portugal left Goa.
The world has moved into the 21st Century. Why cannot the FF`s.What is there to gain by living in the past as Karmali does.?
Perhaps, you can offer an explaination....if you have any self- respect...for yourself first and also for the "bogus and outdated freedom fighters" we are discussing on this topic.
However, I doubt you will. You are too scared of the real world and read facts.
You will better serve your self by hibernating in your fantasy world.

  18. It honestly amuses me how vast knowledge of geography this Akshar has, forget about history. Does he know about the Ghatts (we call it Ghantts in Konkani). Let him learn about his own history and then talk about Banana Boats. I even wonder if he has a genuine Poppy or is a mixture of many Poppies, because his language sounds like that of a mixed breed puppy. Wish I could severe the banana completely so that he won't keep barking and be able to produce more puppies like him on our Goan soil.

Ignorance of history and lack of self respect. Guys, sit on the same boat and go back to the Banana Republic called Portugal.

  19. Hello Akshar... Have you already gone to sleep or are you silently reading the comments and shitting in your pants that your days in Goa are numbered and its time to sit on the Banana Boat that Niz Goenkars are specially building for Akshars like you to be dropped in the black sea? Wake up! Wake up!! Wake up!!! Too much of daydreaming or even nightdreaming is not good for health.

  20. @ Akshar... pray can you please explain to us what "Ignorance of history and lack of self respect". Now which history are you talking about and of which land. Is it ancient history, medieval history or modern history?
When the Portuguese conquered Goa from the Shahi dynasty, the concept of a political India was not even there. It was much like Africa, a continent with a number of kings, princes and vassals ruling over the Indian landmass.
It was the British who united India into a single political entity after the Revolt of 1857. Prior to that the East India Company had trading rights.
It was people like Akshars who supported the British during the Revolt of 1857.
As for Goa, even the British did not make any attempt to take over the territory, unlike the ones which they took over forcibly from the Dutch and the French.
Whom am I lecturing this too? To an Akshar who probably doesn't even know to distinguish his mouth from his arse!

  21. Akshar, should I call you Laskhar from the Taiba group? Your chicken brain sealed inside a banana skinned skull must be diminishing in size. Or is it frozen? Seems that your power of reading history or knowing events has relatively diminished. Your words does not make sense as your power of understanding must have evaporated through the thin banana skin of your skull.
Only fools think that all others are fools and this is a typical case. You suit to be the master of all fools. Go back to history and prove that the Portuguese Raj was no better than the present raj of the 40 chors. There were hardly few criminals and those indulging in criminal activities were behind bars. These same criminals later came out as Freedom Fighters. Corruption was never heard of. Destroying of our land in the name of development was not existing. Our beautiful mountains and valleys were pristine.

Portuguese soldiers were not selling drugs like the present day gua pulis, alike their political boss and his son. Wake up Laskhar before it is too late or you will live like a slave for the rest of your life. Viva Niz Goenkara.

Is Askhar still alive or worshipping his Freedom Masters? Askhar, I want you to answer on this blog if you are really independent and living under democratic rule or are you not the shoe licker of your political masters? Show me one incident where Goa has changed for better after liberation. The only change we had was the welfare of the so called freedom fighters who never fought for liberation but for their own freedom from Portuguese jails. These people were criminals of the first order.

  23. @ Dalia... this Akshar has indeed got a slavish mentality, or maybe some connections to the Russians and the Central Asians. Probably he must have not forgotten about his genes. No wonder people like Akshar's are welcoming with open arms all the street walkers, pimps and drug dealers from the land of his ancestors to Goa. This is called close affinity to one's kith and kins.
Remember the Aryan race and how Hitler tried to use it to form the Third Reich. Poor chap not only destroyed himself but also Germany. This Akshar too will self-destruct.

  24. @ Askhar you silly Idiot: History has been changed to suit their needs by these thieves who call themselves freedom fighters. They have taught wrongly in the school. I have seen in my life what the Portuguese really were. I am an old man now and have seen their goodness. They always loved the Goans. I remember them even participating in our Hindu festivals. They mixed freely with us. They only punished the wrong doers like Karmali and his gang who were involved in thefts, cheating, forgery, carrying bombs & terrorists. All the Hindus and Christians and the Muslims of Goa lived in peace and harmony. History now tells us that only after the Indian military invaded Goa they brought all the bad elements into Goa and today we are nowhere. Well said Ramdas Naik, N Fernandes and the others

  28. Kudos to the BJP supporters. They have not yet lost their self respect in the name of appeasing groups who have no idea about Goas history. For most Goans history comes as what stories have been fed by Grandmas and Grandpas. So this widespread debate. Hence I would kindly urge these guys to open the history books and stop glorifying the Portuguese history! Its also a shame to great freedom fighters like TB Cunha and Ram Manohar Lohiya who have given their lives for Goa's freedom and independence. But it looks like they wasted their lives for a group of people who have forgotten what their ancestors went through. Akshar, you had a lot of courage to speak in this group.

To Akshay::::Thanks for your out of date lecture.
I hope you are also not an "amoeba" of AKSHAR".
In the present day Goa, I do not think any one bothers with Freedom Fighters. They are more concerned about their future. The youth of today are not bothered about these Goa FF`s.They are as well remembered as per historic Fossils of ancient times.
The real Goa Freedom Fighters live in quiet dignity. The ones that concern many are the fakes around, receiving a Pension.Karmali looks like one such person.Hew keeps on Gloating about his exploits like a demented pig.He does not understand dignity.
If it is your belief that all the Freedom Fighters are Real and there are no fakes...you are nothing but a plain sucker of the system.
The 2 FF`s you mentioned have been acknowledged as FF`s and given their due respects.
They fought for causes that were relevant at that point in time of history .
The current bunch are still fighting for something that is 50 years too old.You might want to sift that through your brains.

Freedom Fighters of Goa are certainly in no league or class, to Mahatma Ghandi or Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King or Jomo Kenyatta amongst many others.
Goans respect the true FF`s...but are now questioning whether what the fought for , was worth it,in view of the current situation in Goa.
Perhaps you may wish to expunge your views on this.I look for ward to you views.
Your similar thinking buddy Akshar...seems like a coward. He has thrown stones in his remark and then run like hell up the western Ghats.
In plain English...just state what contribution the FFs have made, other than giving Goans the right to Vote and a new Hell to live in.
Please also read anothe rcomment I have made on another topic.
    I await your detailed comment.

Is this what Goan FF`s fought for?

Panaji: A woman who has tracked down and visually documented disappearing lakes in New Delhi's periphery now says rampant unplanned urbanisation will spell disaster for Goa.

Ishani Dutta, whose documentary film The Land of the Vanishing Lakes will be screened at the Short Film Centre (SFC) of the 41st International Film Festival of India (IFFI), told that planned urbanisation was the only way for Goa to sustain itself.

"Rampant unplanned urbanisation will spell disaster for the local inhabitants of Goa. It is imperative that you learn lessons from other cities and encourage planned urbanisation," she said.

Aggressive civil society groups in the state have demanded an end to mega housing projects and rampant, indiscriminate mining in the state.

Already screened at the American Centre for the Red Earth Festival 2009 and the CMS Vatavaran Film Festival 2009, Ishani's The Land of the Vanishing Lakes is competing for the coveted Vasudha Award at the festival this year. The Vasudha Award is the only state sponsored award for a film on environment and carries a purse of Rs.3 lakh.

Speaking about how she came up with the subject of vanishing lakes as a subject for her documentary, Ishani said, "I have been visiting these lakes since childhood and the lakes completely disappeared in the last two to three years. I wanted to dig out the reasons and one thing led to the other".

"The most popular lakes of NCR have disappeared. The two billion year old water bodies of the Aravallis - Surajkund, Badkhal and Damdama - have all dried up," she said.

"This film looks at the nexus between the corrupt bureaucracy with the construction and the mining mafia. With exclusive bytes from retired forest officers, environmentalists and scientists, we piece together the whole story behind the current mess," Ishani said, adding that the film ends with a ray of hope, in spite of apparent ecological disaster and offers a way-ahead in devastated areas.

She said the film took six months to complete and several reconnaissance trips, but would require support from the media and NGOs to reach out to people at several levels in the government agencies who have the power to stop illegal mining and urbanisation.

"They (illegal miners) may not stop because there is a huge amount of money involved in the mining business, but yes it did raise awareness among people. There was a huge uproar on the issue in the media. Today there is only limited mining allowed in the region. Clandestine mining is on as reported by some agencies," she pointed out.

Speaking about the importance of initiatives such as the short film centre at the IFFI, she said such forums provided a huge platform to voice concerns involving environment and society.

"This might further help us get funds for our future endeavours," said Ishani, whose earlier documentaries have focused on subjects like the alarming growth of HIV/AIDS in the transport sector, environment conservation through nature worship and groundwater depletion in Haryana.

India’s wealth was plundered by the British Raj in colonial times, some auctioned and a lot adorns their museums whereas most of the wealth taken by the Portuguese has been returned. When the British are welcome to India anytime, then why do our freedom fighters target a Portuguese ship? Why, may I ask?
Also, when it comes to Portuguese names, our freedom fighter ‘babus’ readily get their perfectly pleated dhotis into a twist. In Goa, every Tom, Dick and Harry claims to be a freedom fighter.
A few days earlier, a news report stated of the cleansing ceremony by freedom fighters of the Arabian Sea waters, which they claim, was polluted by the ship’s arrival. If at all any cleansing was needed, it should have been done when our beaches had come under the tar ball attack.
