The pension paid to the freedom fighters should be abolished just the way privy purses paid to the Maharajas was abolished by Indian government.
Fighting for freedom is voluntary and none was forced into it with an offer for pension. Pension can be paid only to those who may have lost their source of income or are rendered incapable to work. It looks like these FFs had participated in the freedom struggle for getting pension and other benefits at the cost of the taxpayer. We may have got freedom from foreign rule but are yet to get freedom from corruption, crimes, mismanagement and favouritism. Freedom fighters would be well advised to free Goa from the above ailments.
Goa government will never do that. The so called "Freedom fighters" are their obsequious Pets.

ReplyDeleteCheck it out properly, some of them must have been just one month old on 19th December that year and are registered as Fake Fighters. What freedom did they gave Goans? Only produced looters and criminals like them.
This pension should have been stopped long ago. And now since they are paid for the work they have done some of them were the thieves including Karmali they should not brag about being freedom fighters. They are doing their old job of robbing by looting and robbing the tax payers and claiming a salary for the so called freedom fighting.
ReplyDeleteThese so-called FF’s are only dreaming of decent-paying grants from the Government. Their life without pensions will never end, after their deaths they will continue to get pensions on this pretext and pass on to their generations. These people are all fake bread eaters. They never struggled for any freedom. Their insignificant role and contributions to the struggle for the union was not toiled for. The real remarkable individuals of FF team must have already dead and gone without leaving any legacy for their near and dear ones. The only thing that is left to be done by all Niz Goenkars is to blacken their faces with charcoal and cow dung and parade them for their selfish deeds.
ReplyDeleteI don't think in this group of the so-called Freedom Fighters, even a single one is genuine. Some of them are number one thieves and criminals and they were jailed for their crimes. Just because they were in and out of jail does not make them FF's. Is Mickey Mouse also in that group. He and his poor family are going hungry nowadays, so he too will be needing some pension to survive. What a Yamoooo!!!
