MARKET VALUE COMPENSATION FOR HOUSES FACES DEMOLITION DUE TO NH EXPANSION

MARGAO: Appealing to the people not to be "misguided" by rhetoric over the expansion of the national highways, five cabinet ministers on Tuesday underlined the point that the people, whose houses would face demolition, would be rehabilitated and compensation for houses and land worked out at market values.
They termed the criticism against the NH widening as the opposition’s electioneering gimmick and assured that the monthly toll passes would be as little as Rs 150. Detailed plans on the proposed expansion had already been put out, they informed.
"As on March 2010 there were 7, 30,000 vehicles registered in the state. Every month, 5000 new vehicles are being registered. Our roads are already overloaded," argued the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat justifying the urgent need for wider roads.
"Ask your conscience. Be it 4-lane or 6-lane (highway). Do not agree because Churchill says so or I say so or Babu (referring to the Panchayat Minister, Mr Manohar Babu Azgaokar) says so. But ask yourselves whether we need it or not," the Chief Minister said, asking Goans to "see" the traffic congestion at Cortalim, Mapusa, Ponda or Mollem.
Criticising the observation that the government was not for the people and worked in a non-transparent manner, Mr Kamat said that detailed plans were available to those who wanted them and that congestion and accidents on Goan roads was the reason why the government had decided to go in for the road expansion project.
These sentiments were echoed by the PWD Minister, Mr Churchill Alemao who responded to criticism saying that the white paper on the NH-17 expansion was not being made public because it was not yet complete.  "Only the white paper for the NH-4 is complete," he informed.
He rubbished the bogey being raised in certain quarters that the highway toll would be very steep. "It will be Rs 150 per month only," he said adding that the Chief Minister had already spoken to the Union minister and asked him to increase the radius around the toll booths to 40 km to exempt people from paying toll.  "Without taking people into confidence we will not finalise anything," Mr Alemao promised, saying that the 3D of both the highways had still not been notified.
"We will give people the value of their houses. If it is Rs 10 lakh they will get Rs 10 lakh. If it is Rs 5 lakh, they will get Rs 5 lakh. And the day 3D is announced everything will be in writing," he assured, adding that they were not here to cheat the public.
He also warned that the Zuari bridge had a limited lifespan – six years – and if a new bridge was not built, people would have to travel by ferry once again.  "We have to lay the foundation for the Zuari bridge by the end of the year so that the bridge can be completed within four years," he said.
The Panchayat Minister, Mr Azgaokar and the Civil Supplies Minister, Mr Jose Phillip D’Souza also asked the people not to be misguided by rumours and loose talk and said the government was working in a transparent manner for the betterment of the people. (NT)

Do not trust Churchill`s "MARKET VALUE".

Churchill plainly has no values...religious,moral or human.
His so called "Market Value" sloganeering is to entice people affected to surrender their inheritance, to boost his image and political standing....and of course bank balance to secure his childrens political futures.
I warn People in Goa who are affected and considering settling for the "MARKET VALUE" .It is a false promise. It is a Churchill family ploy to milk everyone for a percentage of sales.
You can be guaranteed that any market value compensation will only be given (in hand and watered down), after it has been dragged through several years /decades through the Goa Judicial system. It will be contested as on previous occassions
Please also check what are the Tax Implications.
There will also be several Land right dispute cases in Courts regarding this matter.
Churchill & his family are well known to blindfold people with rhetoric and silly excuses.
I beg all Goans affected by this alignment to carefully consider all aspects...not just the monetary one.

    WARNING***WARNING****WARNING****

DO NOT TRUST CHURCHILL AND HIS POLITICAL FAMILY MEMBERS.HE WILL DESERT AND ABANDON YOU AS FAST AS HE CHANGES POLITICAL PARTY`S AND POLICIES.

He is also currently, a very sick man.He tries to hide it /cover it, even though it is plain to see.

As soon as I can see other pitfalls , I will comme and leave a further comment.

  2. These National highways are built at the cost of Goan valuable lane. These routes will bring in more outer state thieves to assist our home bred thieves the corrupt politicians. How much of the market price will the seller of the land receive after deduction? The seller will have to pay hafta to receive whatever little they are owed.

  3. As we all know greed has no limit. The more you accumulate the less secure you feel and then you become danger to society.
Churchill should spell out what will be the benefits for Goans with the expansion of national highways. Which right minded person will destroy a developed region in the name of development? You can’t just develop for sake of development. Goans are least travelled people nationally. We Goans rarely venture outside our state, so who will benefit these highways.

Conscience of Digambar Kamat and his gang lies deeply buried into their bank account. They are ready to pay the market value for our demise. Can Goans be taken for a ride? Only time will tell.
