CHURCHILL SAYS MEET AT LOHIA MAIDAN POLITICALLY MOTIVATED

MARGAO: Churchill Alemao who is hell bent on expanding the NH-17 for reasons best known to him only termed Monday’s meeting at the Lohia Maidan, as politically motivated. PWD Minister Churchill Alemao has said some people have started opposing the NH-17 expansion when the alignment is yet to be finalized by the government.
Whereas the crowd in the meeting were talking of Alemao’s earning a hefty amount under the table for his personal account. Some of those in the crowd were asking the question as to why Mr. Alemao is ready to pay the market rate to the people whose house came under axe, an act the government has never done before why only in this case?
He further said that the highway expansion will be done along the land already acquired by the government, with only minor acquisitions wherever necessary.
“Only the NH-4 alignment is ready with minimum damage to the houses. The report is available with the district Collector and I have issued instructions to dispatch the alignment and survey reports to the Panchayats along the NH-4”, he told newsmen.
“The meeting held at the Lohia Maidan was not to solve the highway problem, but to make a political issue out of the highway”, he said, and came down heavily on CPI leader Raju Mangueshkar for his utterances against him at yesterday’s meeting. “Mangueshkar has always been negative. His approach to issues has never been positive. I don’t think he has done anything positive for Goa”, Alemao said.
He said the presence of political leaders at the meeting shows their true intentions behind brining people to the Lohia Maidan. Without taking Mickky Pacheco’s name, Alemao said one person has even demanded that the government should take advise of experts, adding that the government is aware and competent how to build the highway.
Saying the highway expansion project is good for the state taking into account the prevailing traffic situation, Alemao said the government understands the concerns of the people along the highway and is taking all possible measures to redress their grievances. “The government will rehabilitate the displaced people with land along the highway. The house will be assessed as per market value for the payment of compensation”, he said.
When newsmen asked him where exactly the government would rehabilitate the displaced people, Alemao said the people whose houses are facing the axe will be rehabilitated close to the highway in the land acquired by the government.

  1. True Mr. CHORchill, politically motivated. Agree with you. Your move is also fully motivated with an eye to fill your pockets, the pockets of your family members. And to keep your Leitao busy in collecting haftas from the contractors and those involved with the project, the builders and contractors alike. We would like to ask you to demolish your own house and settle somewhere else. We, all Goans are ready to collect money and compensate you for the deed. You will also be well paid as compensation, above market rate ignoring government rules and regulations.

However, I am surprised to know that the foolish Dr. Oscar was sharing the dais with the destructors of Goa like Redorau and the wicked Mickey Mouse who are responsible for the destruction of Goa, just not families and houses. Dr. Oscar has lost his feet or the ground under his feet and slowly showing his face that is penentrated with political colour. We had so much respect for this dotor for standing tall amongst others but if he could stand at the same level as of the destructors of Goa, what a shame.
He should have bravely asked the destructors to get off or hold another meeting on a separate platform. This was people's meeting, the Niz Goenkars meeting who are directly affected. Mickey, Redorau and others just made their presence felt to get sympathy of the vote bank and paint their image as saviours of Goa rather than showing their own colour.

True, the meeting was politically motivated rather than fighting for a cause. Not a cause of the people but of their own, by the politician for the politician.

  2. If Chorchill can hypnotize DOTOR OSCAR, what about the ordinary Goans like us? There will be peace in Goa only when all these corrupt monkeys disintegrate.
